A great book for beginners! The book has a lot of really good information (including a history of tea, which I found fascinating). It is very aesthetically pleasing; the entire thing is colour-coded, which I, a Virgo, just adored.
My two critiques of this book would be...
Number one, I feel like the book struggles from a lack of content. It's already really short and sweet (the only reason it took me so long to read was because I was pausing to practice what I was learning). And although this does make it ideal for beginners, I personally feel it could have had more of a variety of ways to use tea-leaf reading or go about doing a tea-leaf reading.
And this brings me into my second critic, which is how the author teaches you how to do a tea-leaf reading. The author makes tea-leaf reading seem very "one size fits all", when in actuality, however YOU want to go about the practice is perfectly okay. I wish the author had implored you to follow your own intuition a little bit more instead of having a strict way to go about things. For example, because I am living a minimalist lifestyle, it's not practical for me to have a tea-pot just for tea-leaf readings that I can use for regular tea-brewing. The author claims that you should. I have been reading tea leaves for years and I've never found it to be a problem. I would have appreciated the author making more room for different ways of doing things, because while I already know that it is okay to go your own way, a beginner may not, and I feel this book is best suited for beginners.
That being said, this is a great starting place for anyone who is interested in getting into tea-leaf readings, and I wouldn't mind having a copy on my (minimalist) bookshelf!
