In the past, Catherine Spencer has been an English teacher which was the springboard for her writing career. Heathcliff, Rochester, Romeo and Rhett were all responsible for her love of brooding heroes! Catherine has had the lucky honour of being a Romance Writers of America RITA finalist and has been a guest speaker at both international and local conferences and was the only Canadian chosen to appear on the television special, Harlequin goes Prime Time.
I wasn't a massive fan of this tripe. The H is a selfish SOB who is not very nice to the h at all while she is a Mary Sue who can't help interfering with the H when he just wants to be left alone to feel sorry for himself and throw a massive pity party. Be happy the h is happy because he was just a meany to her for 90% of this while the h had the independence to be on her own but chose to be with this butt muncher instead. :(
Wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised.
This was a sweet story. Liam is a cantankerous grump recovering from a broken leg. Jane is a widow trying to get over the loss of her husband. They are stuck together in a small island off of Vancouver where they both went to be alone.
I loved Liam's grouchiness. He reminded of my dh. Jane is sweet but so naive. Their banter and constant bickering kept me highly entertained. Add Bounder to the mix and I am glad I chose to read this book. It was quite enjoyable.
I enjoyed this book. The hero is recuperating after an accident and is a bit cranky because he faces an uncertain future. The h has just got over mourning the loss of a husband who she took long term care of. Both averse to investing in a relationship come together with infuriating sparks. I liked the heroines strength of character.
The novel was annoying for me. All our heroine, Jane did was sulk and cry. It drove me nuts that she was such a child. The hero was almost as annoying but with a side of asshole. The whole novel almost sucked.
