Fate #6-7

The Fated Duet

Rate this book
We’ve known each other our entire lives.

Presley Dunagin has always been my girl in ways. I held her when she was born. I played with her when we were kids. I protected her. She snuck in my bed on nights she stayed over when she was afraid. We were virtually inseparable in ever way. She was my best friend just like she was my sister’s, but her and me—we were closer.

Then we got older.

A kid goes through a lot of changes in middle school, especially for a boy. Our bodies start changing, we notice girls in a different light, and we mentally advance in many ways. The way I looked at her changed. The way I felt about her was stronger. She wasn’t just my friend anymore. It got to where I wanted to see her in the stands with my parents on days of my football games instead of expecting it. Things between us were changing. I could see it in her too. At least, I thought.

They say a single moment can alter your entire life. That moment for me was the day I lost her to someone else, so I gave my heart away. If only I could go back and erase it, because now, years later, her and me aren’t so easy anymore. Something more still lies beneath the surface, but I’m broken, she’s bruised, and we have too much history to pick up where everything went wrong. What I didn’t realize—we would hurt each other far worse before we’d finally get it right.

Note from the author: This is a compilation of Fated for You and Fated for Me, as well as chapter one of Fate by Forgiveness.

I found books when I was going through a hard time in life. They became my means of escape when things got bad. I realized quickly how much I loved to take a backseat to someone else's life and watch the journey unfold. That began my journey with books in November of 2012. I constantly had a book open on my Kindle app. Never in a million years would I have imagined myself as a writer, because I never thought I was creative enough. I'm living proof that things will fall into place when they're meant to be. People will make their way into our lives when we don't expect it, setting the path for what we are meant to do. Never give up on people. Never stop taking a chance on others. Someone took a chance on trusting me with her work when she didn't know me from a stranger on the street and gave me the opportunity of a lifetime as our relationship progressed, which led me to editing and writing as well. This is my dream I never knew I had. As soon as I sat down and gave writing a shot, it was like the floodgates opened. Now, I am lost in a world of fiction in my head, new characters constantly screaming for their stories to be told. Continue to dream and to go for them. No one ever found happiness by sitting on the sidelines. Sometimes we have to take risks and put ourselves out there. Thank you for all of your support, and may there be many books to come. XOXO- C

This book is very, very long. I really liked Presley, but found Konnor a bit annoying, he needed to make up his mind what he actually wanted.
I found some of the sex scenes slightly disturbing as some of it was non consensual. When a girl says no, it means no...
I found the scene where the sex was made (deliberately) so painful it made the girl feel sick, distasteful and thought it had no place in a love story
I found it hard to tell who was supposed to be speaking a lot of the time and found myself having to re read a lot of the dialogue. There was no, he said, she said... I only knew who was speaking because at the end of the sentence it didn't make sense for the person I thought was talking to make that particular comment at that time. It made the book take even longer to read
Apart from that, I enjoyed the book!

This series is one of my absolute favorites. Presley and Konnor go through a lot to get together. This duet is gritty and hard emotionally. It may not be everyone's cup of tea....but its mine. These characters are real and they make real life decisions. Those decisions arent always right but in todays world, they are common. If you want to read a real story with grit and struggle and young adults making typical decisions (that most view as wrong), then read this duet. Bravo...its incredibly well done.

Or 3.5 stars. The first book was really good but, the second one was too long. In fact, I think everything would’ve been way better if the story was only one book. It stretches so much. It felt like the some issues were coming back and it were never resolved. I get that some of them are intense but, it always ended with the same arguments and then, sex. The sex scenes were really hot though.

Love the series

I have been waiting to read Konnor and Presley's story since I read the first book in this series. I was not disappointed. They have spent a lifetime loving each other but not admitting it to anybody until one night the ice finally breaks. I would recommend this series to anybody that liked to read.

So very bad

Step away. Trust me on this. There are many long and brilliantly written reviews detailing just how VERY bad this book is. Read them and save yourselves the agony of this atrociously written, long winded load of selfindulgent rubbish.

Fated For You by Charisse Spiers

Konnor and Presley wow where do you even begin to explain their complicated history? They have grown up together their families intertwined. Presley has loved Konner as long as she can remember only to watch him treat her like a little sister. Then watch him date nearly killed (broke)her. She lashed out by trying to make him jealous by sleeping around. When she found out that after years they broke up she thought she would finally get her shot with Konner. Unfortunately Konner wasn't in the right state of mind. Then during Christmas break everything changed a night they will never forget. Then he does the unthinkable and destroys her a few days later. Their journey is one filled with angst, heartache, anger, dirty talking intense sex, secrets, unbelievable chemistry and enough drama to last a lifetime. Their story is epic it will keep you drawn in from the moment you begin till the end, oh and what an ending! I wanted to scream no, no, no !!!!! Why? Thank goodness the next book Fated For Me is out now. I have fallen in love with all of Charisse Spiers books. She has a way to make you feel what the characters are feeling and what they are going through.
Five heartbreaking 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

Fated For Me by Charisse Spiers

Emotional, raw, intense, powerful yet heartbreakingly beautiful love story. Fated For You was filled with tough decisions and spur of the moment stupidity that left deep emotional scars. Fated For Me is where Konner realizes after a near death experience that life is precious and it can be taken away forever. He wants Presley but he is keeping secrets from her. Presley is fighting her own demons and it eating away at her each and every day and she knows she needs to tell Konner. Their struggles are so gutwrenching that my heart hurt for them. I wanted to scream and throw my kindle so many times. I don't want to give too much away but I will say I loved when Konner finally told Presley mom what his feelings were on the whole subject and how he stood up for her. Bravo!!! There was so many different things I could highlight in this book but then well..... the whole book would be well highlighted. I can't express how much I LOVE Konner and Presley journey.

Good romance...just too long on places.

I generally don't like leaving negative reviews and this book is not bad to be honest....I've read far worse. It has a great concept with great characters but I found myself skimming over so much as it seemed to go on and on and on...but the overall story didn't change. I kept thinking something big is going to happen soon to move the story on....but it failed to deliver. Overall it was a very detailed book and focuses on one couples relationship from different characters perspectives...the story was about Presley and Konnor, however there were side line relationships also told in a very detailed way and for me it didn't work! Sorry! I wouldn't say it was bad, just a little boring in places for me personally.

best friends get best friends

Two best friends have each a boy and a girl child. The kids were raised together each family co-parenting. When Konner first layer on Presley as a new born, he was one, it was love at first sight. They were best friends. Took nineteen years and a lot of trials and tribulations for them to finally get what each always wanted, each other. Good series relaxing read.
