The plot is clear from the synopsis. Only that it's the sister who got kidnapped in the past and the h and their father turn overprotective about her/their safety.
And it begins very well, promising to be a hoot of a rom-com. There are some real funny gems in there. But the promise is lost somewhere along the way. Still a average to okay read.

The h's sister overshadows the book to a great extent. She's a darling but everything and everyone revolves around her. Thankfully, the H is smitten with the h but she's too busy with her family or her snobbish ways to really appreciate him - till it's too late.

Good story

I enjoyed this light read. The author Marcy, was going for the agonizing misunderstanding that kept lovers apart. Marcy even got the lady in the story to say that , “in novels that Jane Austen and Fanny Burney, wrote, the path to true love is not easy.” I suspect that the author was projecting modern, American values and opinions on to 18th century English people.

The book was awesome! The plot made me not want to put the book down because I was itching to find out what would happen next since there were so many things that could happen and you do not know what to expect.
