The is the next installment of the Cassidy McCabe series. I have to say it was a little better than the first. This installment revolves around one of Cassidys patients and a flashback she experiences regarding a Satanic ritual where a young boy is sacrificed. Is it real? Dana, the patient, has a history of psychiatric problems, along with a history of drug and alcohol abuse. Cassidy lets some information regarding this patient to her boyfriend, Zach, who happens to be an investigative reporter. The story takes off from there. Is this a true memory? If not, who are these Satan worshipers? Who can you trust? And who is trying to kill Cassidy? The unfolding of this story was much better and suspenseful than the last book. The one thing I can certainly do without is that annoying on-going conversation with the cat and the all the abuse the cat dispenses to Cassidy. She must be a better person than I because even though I love cats, this one would have been somewhere other than my house. All in all, I will continue reading this series and complete the 5 book set.
