Asking FBI agent Lucy Sanderson to profile the Back Roads Killer is the only way Bryce Tippett can prove his brother is innocent—unless Lucy becomes the next victim. When someone begins stalking her just as she arrives in town, it falls to the single dad to protect her. But as clues lead in unexpected directions, can they uncover the truth…and survive to expose it?
Award winning author Virginia Vaughan lives by the motto ‘It’s not hoarding if its books’. Always the kid with her nose stuck in a book, becoming a multi-published author hasn’t stopped Virginia from continuing to grow her own collection of favorite reads. Her family has refused to help her move anymore because of the sheer number boxes of books, but she’s no quitter. She’ll keep buying books and, the next time she moves, hire a moving van.

Another heart-pounding, adrenaline-laced romantic suspense from Virginia Vaughan! The story moves fast and all the surprises in the plot will have you guessing at the identity of the villain until the very end. The characters Lucy and Bryce are real, down-to-earth, and so broken in different ways. Yet they find comfort and love in each other even as they dodge bullets, bombs, and car crashes as the killer inches closer to the goal of getting rid of Lucy. Lucy’s work as an FBI profiler is interesting and it made her a different type of victim/heroine in the story. Bryce is a kind-hearted protector whose faith guides his steps even though his past weighs him down. His daughter Meghan is a cute and precocious teen who adds more dimension to the story and to Bryce and Lucy’s relationship.
If you enjoy romantic suspense, you will definitely enjoy this book. I received a copy of the book from the author and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
What happens when an FBI profiler doubts her abilities? Killer Insight gives readers plenty to think about—all amid the hunt for a serial killer.
Virginia Vaughan combines action (including gunfire, abductions, bombs, and more) with moments of honesty and introspection into Lucy and Bryce. Bryce’s daughter adds another dimension to this story too.
The twists and turns in the plot had me guessing at the villain then doubting I had it right only to guess at the person behind the crimes again. This was one story I couldn’t put down until all was revealed. The fast-paced plot helps it speed by.

'She knew her fears were irrational, but that didn't stop them from being real for her.'
Virginia Vaughan brings us book four in her Covert Operatives book and it's the best yet! FBI agent Lucy Sanderson is asked to profile the Back Roads Killer by Bruce Tippett to prove his brother innocent. Then someone begins stalking Lucy as she is getting her profile ready. Bruce, a single dad, has taken on the job of protecting Lucy, while trying to help her with her profile. Clues lead places neither one suspected and it's become a full time job trying to keep from being killed as Lucy gets closer and closer to the culprit.
This book starts off with a bang and continues all the way through. This one is a suspense filled ride right into a heinous crime spree of a serial killer. I just couldn't stop reading! Vaughan's best yet! I thought I had figured out the culprit, then I didn't, then I did, etc. This one will keep you guessing while at the same time holding you hostage to the suspense. Highly recommended.
*My thanks to the author for a preview copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Killer Insight. This is the fourth book in the Covert Operatives Series. Virginia's books are always well written, action packed, and full of drama. I'm always excited to get one of her stories in the mail. This is an awesome story and I know you are going to love it.
FBI Agent Lucy Sanderson is a profiler. She is asked to come and do a profile on the Back Roads Killer by her deceased fiance`s Marine buddy. His brother is accused of killing the four women. She comes even though her confidence has been shaken by her relationship with her fiance. She is out jogging when a man stops on the side of the road. He tries to drug her but she shoves the syringe away so he beats her, ties her up, and throws her into the trunk of the car. She manages to escape and lands into the hands of the man who asked her to come.
Bryce Tippett's brother's girlfriend disappeared some time ago. Now the law enforcement officers are sure he's the Back Roads Killer. He knows his brother couldn't have killed anyone. He talks the Sheriff into allowing the FBI to profile the killer hoping that will get their eyes off his brother. He is taking his daughter to the sitter to meet Lucy when he finds her running away from the killer. He picks her up and takes her to the hospital.
A journey of two broken souls trying to stay one step ahead of a killer. As the evidence takes a strange turn can they find the truth and still survive? God has a plan for these two; a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too. Give Him your heart and watch miracles start to happen in your life.
Killer Insight is the 4th and last book in the Covert Operatives Series and I think Virginia saved the best for last! I read this book from beginning to end in a day, it was that good!
FBI profiler Lucy is in town to profile a serial killer and finds herself a victim. I thought I had figured out the killer but I was wrong! This book is a must read!
Lucy is doubting her abilities because of something that happened in her past. She has to learn to put her trust fully in God before she can really trust in her abilities. Thankfully she has Bryce who trusts in her and more importantly in God.
Once you start this book you are not gonna want to put it down!
Fantastic job Virginia! Thank you for writing this book.
Virginia Vaughan did a fabulous job of keeping the suspense high and raising the stakes at every turn. This novel packs a punch when FBI Agent Lucy Sanderson, a profiler, arrives in town in search of the Backroads Killer. The role takes an unexpected turn when the murderer snatches her while she’s out jogging, and throws her into his trunk. She barely escapes with her life, but the killer doesn’t give up. Bryce Tippet, an old Marine friend of Danny’s, her deceased fiancé, and a single dad, finds Lucy standing in the road, battered and bruised. He rescues her from her abductor, but not before the man shoots at them. The heart-thumping action in this novel hooks the reader and makes it difficult to put the book down. Virginia established her characters in a way that draws readers into their world and allows them to connect with Lucy and Bryce and the life-threatening situation they face.
Powerful intrigue from start to finish! With the fourth book in her Covert Operatives series, Virginia Vaughan continues to delight with KILLER INSIGHT.
Lucy Sanderson has our allegiance from the first page when by simply arriving in town she suddenly becomes the next victim of the guy she's there to profile! She is a FBI profiler on leave and doing a favor for a friend of her late fiancee when she walks smack dab in the middle of the case.
Bryce Tippitt is an easy character to like. He's an attentive and caring single father intent on helping clear his brother's name in the serial killer case he's being accused in.
I highly recommend this story to anyone enjoying an inspirational romance filled with nail biting intrigue and lots of heart. The characters were well developed, the plot was thick and the story flowed easily. Really enjoying this entire series!
Killer Insight by Virginia Vaughan is book 4 of the Covert Operatives. It is a fast paced adventure, mystery, romance and includes a small town. It is the story of FBI profile agent, Lucy Sanderson who has traveled to Whitten, Texas from Washington,D. C. in answer to a request for help from former Marine, and single dad, Bryce Tippet. Bryce's brother is in trouble and needs help to prove his innocent as well as who is guilty. Besides the mystery, you get involved with characters who you want to see what happens to them. the characters are well developed and feel like people you know. This is a gripping romantic suspense /mystery with well developed characters. My favorite part is the twist at the end.
I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions in this review are my own.
This book was filled with suspense from the beginning! Lucy was out for a run when she was assaulted by the very serial killer she was there to profile and help catch. Too many young women had already lost their lives in this small community to this murderer. I had figured out who the killer was by the time I was halfway done with the book. However, there was a little bit of a twist at the end that I was glad for because it made it feel like there was still something for me to be surprised by. One thing that bothered me was how much Lucy kept blaming herself for what her deceased fiance had done. She thought she didn't deserve good things because of something she had nothing to do with. I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions in this review are my own.
The story starts fast; there's no gentle, easing into it. My attention was captured and held throughout the book. I read the book in one evening. I loved the main characters, Lucy and Bryce. They are good-hearted and likable. They both have an issue or two to work through. Bryce's daughter Meghan is a wonderful addition to the tension and to the romance, as well as adding a little humor. The plot twists and turns and is full of action. There's a great HEA in the epilogue. I recommend this book to readers of clean/wholesome romantic suspense and to Christian romantic suspense readers. I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this well-written romantic suspense.
An organized serial killer known as the “Backwoods Killer” is terrorizing the town and Bryce Tippett’s brother, Clint is suspected to be the killer. Bryce has asked Lucy Sanderson, an FBI agent to profile the killer to prove his brother’s innocence. But as soon as Lucy arrives in town, she is in the killers sights. As Lucy investigates and Bryce tries to keep Lucy safe, the killing continues. Even though this was the fourth book in the Covert Operations Series, it is an excellent stand alone book. I received an arc of this book from the author and the review and comments are my honest opinion.
In Virginia Vaughan’s Killer Insight, readers are taken on a wild ride when FBI agent Lucy Sanderson is tasked with profiling the Black Roads Killer. When it becomes apparent that her life is in danger, it is up to single dad Bryce Tippett to protect her.
While Killer Insight is the fourth book in the Covert Operatives series, it can definitely be read as a stand alone novel. So, if you enjoy suspense stories, especially those from the Love Inspired line, then Killer Insight is a book that you will not want to miss!
*I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher, but was not required to leave a review.
Killer Insight by Virginia Vaughan is a brilliantly written suspense thriller. Virginia Vaughan can write can suspense like no other! From the very first page, she will have you hooked. This book is no exception. FBI agent Lucy is called in to help find a serial killer. But she quickly comes into direct contact with the killer and fights for her life. This is one of many suspenseful scenes in a book that moves so quickly because the suspense never ends. I loved this book and think readers of romantic suspense will love it as well. I received a digital copy of this book from the author with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
I am reviewing this book for the author and this is my honest opinion.
FANTASTIC! 👍👍👍👍👍 I figured out who the serial killer was😊 but I had to finish the book to see what was going to happen to Clint. Read in 1/2 a day because once I started I didn't want to stop! It was a inspirational But it wasn't over the top like other inspirational I have read. I am sad 😢 it's the end of the series but it was a really good ending.

This book had my heartbeat racing from start to finish. It will keep you so entranced you will want to finish it in one sitting like I did! If you’ve never read a book by Virginia Vaughan you are in for a treat. She will become one of your go to authors!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the Author on behalf of the Publisher and was under no obligation to post a favorable review.
Killer Insight Virginia Vaughan WOW! This was a “couldn’t put it down until I found out who did it’ book. You did a wonderful job of keeping me guessing until the very end because of all the twists and turns you created. A definite book you need to make sure you have plenty of time for when you start reading it.
Awesome...I didn't think Virginia could possibly top the last book, but this one does. She had me on page one. I loved the action that took place at the beginning of the story. So many times you have to read many pages to get to a point of attention interest. Virginia hit this one spot on. I look forward to the new series.
Thrilling ride from start to finish. As with all of the other books in this Covert Operative Series there is plenty of action and pulse pounding suspense. I love anything about FBI profiling and Lucy is a the FBI profiler in this book. Your adrenaline will be on overdrive. Suspense, intrigue, action and romance make this a "killer" book to read!
I loved Lucy and Bryce’s story. Vaughan does an amazing job with all the twists and turns in Killer Insight. I’m sad to see the Covert Operatives Series come to an end, but I can’t wait for the next one.
Killer Insight (Covert Operatives Book 4) by Virginia Vaughan is an awesome story that I have read. This is book number four in this awesome series. I highly recommend this story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
What a great book, filled with plenty of action, intrigue and mystery!!!!!! The author did an excellent job of keeping the identity of the killer under wraps until almost the last minute!!!
What a thriller! This was a gripping tale that kept me enthralled with non-stop action. Lucy seemed to be doomed from the minute that she entered this little town. Bryce, Meaghan and Cassidy add another level of depth to the story. I enjoyed the emphasis that the author makes on faith and the Lord throughout this book. A very interesting look at an employee whose job is doing profiles on criminals. A very well edited and well written book with constant action, mystery, and intrigue.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the author. This is my voluntary, honest and completely personal review. VICKI FROM WYOMING
Virginia Vaughan never disappoints. Killer Insight is no exception. I really enjoyed this story about Lucy an F.B.I. profiler and Bryce a special forces marine.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it was hard to put down and it was edge of your seat action and suspense all the way through! This was a christian read and it was clean.
“We all have things in our pasts we regret. It doesn’t make us less deserving of God’s love.”
Killer Insight, final installment in the Covert Operatives series, was both riveting and suspenseful all in one. From the moment FBI agent Lucy Sanderson steps into the small town of Whitten, danger is always lurking close behind her. From being stuffed in a trunk to being submerged in water, she’s always fighting to stay alive.
She’s come to town to help Bryce Tippett profile the Back Roads killer in order to clear Bryce’s brother, Clint’s, name. All pending signs are aimed at his brother being the one behind all the murders but Bryce believes his brother is innocent. Bryce, a single dad, is doing whatever he can to keep Lucy safe while helping her find the real serial killer.
The twists and turns are always what keeps me interested until the end. I really thought I figured out who was behind the killings but Virginia kept me on edge until she finally revealed who it was. Boy was I surprised.
I loved the faith element that’s always present in her books. Lucy and Bryce both have troubled pasts but they still find a way to have each other’s backs. Lucy believes she’s not worthy of love because of her past. It’s really hard for her to get too close to someone because she believes she’s not worthy of finding true happiness. She believes her past has blemished that from ever happening. She’s carrying guilt that she believes is her fault. It takes a good guy, Bryce, to make her realize she is worth it. You’ll have to read the book to discover what happens between them.
I’m really sad that this series has come to an end but it ended just right. I enjoyed each book in this series. I look forward to what Ms. Vaughn comes up with next. She has become one of my favorite LoveInspired authors. I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to give my honest opinion. I was not required to like this book. All opinions stated are my own.
This is the next installment in Vaughan’s Covert Operatives series, but it could easily be read and enjoyed as a standalone.
Lucy Sanderson is an FBI agent who’s asked to profile the Back Roads Killer, and she must work with Bruce Tippett, who wants to prove his brother’s innocence. Everything changes when Lucy realizes she has a stalker. Bruce takes it upon himself to keep her safe. Will they be able to find the killer before Lucy becomes the next victim?
The action starts early on, and it pulls the reader along through the whole story. The author keeps you guessing, and there are some unexpected twists along the way.
