Vacation With a Star

Melanie promised herself never to date musicians again, after her boyfriend and aspiring rock star Nick brutally broke her heart. When pop icon Daniel Howe unexpectedly visits her favorite Italian restaurant and tries to invite her for a date she brushes him off and shows no interest. Daniel has everything in his life including money, fans and fame, but he doesn't have true love. When Daniel first sees Melanie he feels a spark and decides that he needs to try to build a relationship with Melanie regardless of his hectic world tour. Suddenly Melanie receives a two-week vacation in Greece as a present from her company, however when she bumps into Daniel at the resort hotel she realizes that he actually orchestrated it all. Beneath the Greek sun they begin to fall for one another and Melanie starts to believe that perhaps Daniel is more than his pop star persona. Just when Melanie is ready to let the world know about her relationship with Daniel something unexpected happens that can either break her heart completely or make her the happiest person in the world.

I read this book a good while ago and it is on my re-read list. As soon as I finish it for the second time I will write more.

Disappointed

The number of pages were short enough of many pages only have a paragraph. I only read a few chapters before I quit reading due to unnecessary foul language and low morals.

Fun short read!

This was a fun book. However, I wish the romance could have developed a little more before they slept together. It was also short. Other than that, another fun Goldman book. These are a nice way to escape for a few hours and read something fairy tale like. Enjoy!

I have fallen head over heals over Kate Goldman’s previous books so I ordered this novel without hesitation and I am glad that I did.

The main characters were well rounded which made the romance unravel naturally, they passed through some surprising vicissitudes as the tale progressed making the read highly engaging. I loved everything about this novel from the heartwarming scenes, the struggles Melanie faced due to her previous relationship with Nic, her supportive friend Rachel and Daniel Howe’s thoughtful persona, which I must say, was just adorable. This book was amazing and I highly recommend it to any romantic looking for a light read.

It was too quick and too predictable for my taste. I think I read this in an hour or less. I feel like none of the characters were really developed at all. There was a random point of view at the end from her ex boyfriend which was pointless. Also, it was all written in third person but it switched point of views from his to her. It was really confusing at a few points and also he had more at the beginning but then it was all her until the very end. It felt uneven and kind of annoying to me. If you just want a short, quick, happy ending, then this is the book for you. Personally I like at least a little more depth.

This was an Amazon Freebie. I was looking for a quick read today and choose this based on its title. It was a quick read that but ultimately I was not impressed. It has a cute story-line but the delivery fell flat. Too much content, not enough connection with the characters. More tell than show.

Content: language including the F word, several tawdry sex scenes

DNFed by chapter 2. Looks like no professional editing to speak of, the same type of words like "pleaded" used multiple times in the first chapter, including the hero who likes to please and whine a lot. He comes across more as a teenage and not an adult man.
