Not only does this book have lots of recipes, it also has lots of stories behind some of the famous recipes that the Schubert Company is famous for. Many of the recipes have been in their family for generations. I loved reading how some of the recipes came about.

Anyone from the south knows that delicious cornbread and biscuits come from this neck of the woods. Heavy on the fat, Sister's recipes are to be made for special occasions.
Where else can you find ten different takes on using cornmeal, each of them distinct with their own flavors? And twelve different biscuits and scones? Her sticky buns are loaded with flavor and the orange rolls are wonderful!
Are there better bread books out there? Yes. But if you are looking for a sampling of downhome goodness this is a wonderful place to start.

Book of homage to the humble biscuit and their glorified cousins, scones. My favorite glazed orange scones.
