A strong addition to this intense, passionate, action driven series.

Breathtaking world building continues in this epic saga of search and redemption. Our heroine continues her pursuit of magic and power awakening, in another well written, fast paced installment of her journey. Well done, Angela J. Ford.

Tor Lir and Citrine are travelling to the realm of ice, the realm in the mountains towards Stronghold having being forced into doing so by Lord Nodin who had the clyear of revelation and pretended to want them to break the curse to save his people, the Therians. The Therians were shifters who could turn into bulls, wolves or bears but some were turning mad and highly dangerous once they shifted because of the curse and the rest of the people had to keep these caged up. Once the group arrive on the fringes of the ice realm they are attacked and the Frost Queen lures Tor Lir and seduces him and betrays him. Things turn very dangerous for everyone when a mighty power is unleashed and he wreaks havoc on the mountain and all who dwelt below it as well as for the poor Ezincks. Both Citrine and Tor Lir are forced to face their dark side and Tor Lir had to integrate his shadow to become whole and who he really was but whether this was going to turn him evil or not is yet to be seen. This is another beautifully written novel full of magic, magical creatures, self-introspection, courage, loss of loved ones and loyalty particularly by the beasts who are such a part of Citrine and such a wonder to read about! I just love this amazing series and am dying to see how Tor Lir is going to evolve as a character and whether Citrine and he will become more than just friends!

So book three in the series and what a cracker it is. Suspense and action all the way until an ending you don’t see coming. What next you ask yourself. Roll on book four to let us find out. Highly recommended.

Get a jacket and a cup of hot chocolate for this icy read! Angela does a fabulous job at setting the scene throughout this book!

The characters continue to grow into themselves as they discover what the north holds. Picking up where book 2 leaves off, we follow the five of them as they attempt to cure Nodin's people. I didn't expect many of the turns and the ending was seriously wow. I am going to be eagerly awaiting the next installment to see where it takes everyone's story. The chemistry between Tor Lir and Citrine is amazing, their differences make them such a strong team in this book. Citrine's personal growth is wow, I am excited to see how it shapes her future, not only for herself but her beasts.

This series is a must read! I recommend starting with Citrine's Monsters

The saga continues, this time even more intense than ever. Angela does an excellent job of weaving all the pieces of each story together. She reveals more and more clues to the mystery, yet with each revelation come more and more questions. This is only the halfway point in the series, I can’t imagine how it all will end....

This third book in the series continues Ms. Ford’s mastery of painting beautiful pictures with words. The reader can easily visualize the scenes and share the characters’ experiences. Citrine and Tor Lir are forced by Lord Nodin to travel to the realm of ice to help his people, the Therians, who live in a great mountain. They are shapeshifters, but have been cursed, so that when they turn, many of them go mad and become dangerous to the community. As our heroes enter the region, they are ambushed. The Frost Queen seduces Tor Lir and betrays him. He is forced to accept and meld with his shadow to deal with a powerful monster who gets awakened and starts to destroy the mountain, along with all those who inhabit it. Citrine also has to face her internal demons so she can help save the people. This is an easy read, which kept me engrossed – I did not want to put it down. I’m eager to follow this tale to see of Tor Lir is able to stay neutral despite his shadow, and whether he and Citrine will only remain traveling companions.
