This book is about Beauty and the Beast. It follows more closely to the original story rather than the Disney story, but still kid friendly. I liked this version more than the other two for sure. It goes through how Beauty's father ended up being captured and how Beauty (as she was named in the original) came to live at the Beast's castle. I felt that the illustration in this book was very simple and cute and would appeal to the younger audience. The reason I wanted to read this book was because my friend had recommended it for me. I would add this book to my bookshelf because I felt it retold the original story in a very clear and easy way for kids to be very entertained and understandable. I think that a lot of kids would add this to their own library. I could see this wanting to be read very often. I could see kids really enjoying this book because of the familiarity of the story and how fun and easy the book is.
