This Suspense kept me interested through the entire book. The puzzles from the killer kept things intriguing, and also kept our characters in contact. This definitely has a protector, rescue feel to it, and I really liked the dynamic between our couple. Admiring the strength and intelligence of the other side of the pairing was lovely to see.

Good story. I gave it a 4 because I felt it ended abruptly. I would have liked more on a couple of things that happened toward the end of the story. Raven and Lucien worked well together in solving the clues left by the serial killer.

Honestly I think this book maybe deserve more than 2 stars but i don’t know if it’s worth three. The mystery was good, but I actually got a bit confused at the end when the details behind why the killer was the way he was were revealed. Also, the whole point of these books is romance! And there was actually very little of that - more pining which is more suited to teenagers. Not to mention, THERE WERE SO MANY TYPOS AND ERRORS IN THIS BOOK it was actually quite distracting. I don’t if it was just my copy but still. Heard of an editor? Raven and Lucien were good characters and I liked how they were already in love (kinda) at the beginning and how the setting was Vancouver. But with all the yearning I was expecting some PASSIONATE stuff and it was all skipped over! Boo! Don’t get me wrong, I love my romance mixed in with other things but this book wasn’t the ideal combination.

Lucien and Raven

A Vancouver PD detective is reunited with a lovely young woman he'd protected 3 years earlier and has struggled to forget. Now the serial killer who'd targeted her has escaped. This is a tense thriller taking place over twenty-four hours but the confusing backstory prevented me from fully enjoying the story. Terrific twist at the end.
