Enjoyable and clear. I especially liked the little intelligence tests, and what to do when your cat scratches and bites (which is a problem we have with our cat). And the tricks you can teach your cat (something our cat is good at learning--she does have her plus points).
This book offers good fundamental advice about adopting and caring for a cat. The book seemed to be a bit focused on kittens, but otherwise was very helpful in decoding a cat's behavior. I especially liked the emphasis on teaching children to let a cat come to you and not overwhelming her with your love, something that our girls had a bit of trouble with, especially when they were younger.
Our oldest borrowed this book from her elementary school library and we read most of it together, covering a topic or two each night. We skipped over sections they had less interest in (and I read them on my own later), but on the whole, it was a helpful guide.
How To Speak Cat by Sarah Whitehead is a colorful, easy-to-read book with lots of good information on how to get along with cats including some games to play with them and some things you can teach them with simple step-by-step instructions. Great for kids to learn how to treat and understand cats.
