With 100 novels and more than seven million books in print, New York Times & USA Today bestselling author Patricia Rosemoor is fascinated with "dangerous love" – combining romance with danger. She has written various forms of romantic and paranormal romantic thrillers, bringing a different mix of thrills and chills to her stories.
The Lone Wolf's Child is book two in the Sons of Silver Springs series by Patricia Rosemoor. Chance Quarrels love performing on the rodeo circuit and only went home to Curly-Q for short periods due to his childhood sweetheart Prudence Prescott. Chance decided to come home to hide out after becoming a witness to a crime. However, that did not happen trouble followed him back to Curly-Q. The readers of The Lone Wolf's Child will continue to follow Chance to find out what happens.
The Lone Wolf's Child is the first book I read of Patricia Rosemoor, and I enjoyed reading this book. I engaged with the plot of The Lone Wolf's Child from the first page, and my engagement with the story continues throughout this book. I love Patricia Rosemoor portrayal of her characters and the way they intertwine with each other throughout this book. The Lone Wolf's Child is well written and researched by Patricia Rosemoor. I like the way Patricia Rosemoor described the settings of The Lone Wolf's Child that complimented the plot of this book.
The readers of The Lone Wolf's Child will learn about the dangers and the rewards of participating in the Rodeo Circuit in the USA. Also, the readers of The Lone Wolf's Child will understand the importance of safety around electricity.
Patricia Rosemoor's Sons of Silver Springs continue with "The Lone Wolf's Child," this month's secret baby story. Chance Quarrels' restless spirit made it so he could never stay put in one place for long. Yet when he came back to Silver Springs he always knew he could count on Prudence Prescott to be waiting for him. This time, he didn't come back by choice. He was driven back by killers who wanted to stop him from testifying in an upcoming trial. Except now Pru wanted nothing to do with him. He'd left her one time too many, pregnant with a daughter he knew nothing about. But when the killers found out about the baby before Chance did, Pru had no choice. She needed him.
"The Lone Wolf's Child" smoothly continues the storyline started in last month's "Heart of a Lawman" while telling a fully formed story of its own. Chance and Pru's romance is quite poignant. They long for each other even when they're apart and we can feel the love that burns between them even before their first encounter in the book. This rodeo man and the preacher's daughter make a couple to root for. As usual, Rosemoor find numerous ways to put her leads in dangerous situations, keeping the tension high and the action moving.
About the biggest compliment I can give the book was that I went in not wanting to read it at all and still enjoyed it. Rosemoor's entry in the secret baby marathon is a well told tale that drew me in by making me care about the people involved, which went a long way to helping me overcome the fact that they were living a cliche. I was able to understand their motives and sympathize with both sides by the end. I started out siding with Pru 100%, but Chance's wanderlust was well explained and established. By the end, I just wanted them to find a happy ending. Well done. Anyone who's had enough of this plot hook won't find anything new here, but those who can't get enough of it should find "The Lone Wolf's Child" to be a fine example of the genre.
Hold on to your seat, this one starts off fast and just keeps getting better.Love, thrills, mystery and suspense.Bet you won't guess who the bad guys are.
Chance was a rodeo rider and had just won three competitions but was drawn home for a couple of reasons. Chance had told Pru he loved her and she had trusted him but then he left town again. This time Chance left behind more then Pru’s broken heart. Pru lived with her sister Justine and her husband Mitch and her two daugters and also Hope who was Chance’s- that he did not know about- and Pru’s young daughter. Pru refused to tell Chance about Hope just to see her daughter’s heart broke also but there was another deep seeded reasonn also. Pru had not heard from Chance in two and ahalf years. This was a great story not only a romance but alot more. I loved how everything in the story came together : there was anforever love, a young child, danger, betrayal, a crime talked about in jest, warnings, family misunderstandings, a near death experience, a heart stopping yet brought back, a family coming back together, an federal agent, an upcoming trial, kidnapping, threats, supposid bad luck, a witness and so much more. I loved the fact how no matter what Pru loved her man and he her. Even when Pru wanted to stay away from Chance she loved him. I loved the plot and the ins and outs as well as the characters and I highly recommend.
Another great book from Patricia Rosemoor. This is the second book in the "Sons of Silver Springs" series but can be comfortably read as a stand alone novel.
Chance and Pru were one of those couples you want to cheer for part of the time and shake them the rest. They were good together though once they removed some of the chips from their shoulders. I liked that they had a past so the romance never seemed rushed or unreal. I loved all the action and mystery going on and the pace was fast. I'm looking forward to the next book which will be Reed and Alcina's story.
I received this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review
