Dragonkin Bundle Books 5-9

Rate this book
The unputdownable second half of New York Times bestselling author G.A. Aiken’s wildly funny, hot and unmistakably kick ass Dragon Kin series.   The Dragon Who Loved Me Rhona the Fearless must fight alongside uncivilized male Northland dragons who think a female is only good for breeding. But only fools would try to stop her from doing what she does best—destroying the enemies of her kind. So the smartest thing wily barbarian Vigholf the Abhorrent can do is stay out of her way . . .   How to Drive a Dragon Crazy Izzy thought she was finished with the one dragon she’d have done anything Éibhear the Blue, a big, gorgeous, blue-haired beast who wants to protect her from danger. That’s fine with her, because while she’s trying to fulfill a ridiculous quest for a pushy god, she’ll draw the overconfident warlord in and rekindle his smoldering fires . . .   Light My Fire Celyn the Charming has direct orders from his queen to protect Elina Shestakova of the Black Bear Riders of the Midnight. Gods! That endless name! Worse still, this unforgiving female is completely unimpressed by Celyn. How is that even possible? Especially when he is just so damn charming?   Feel the Burn Gaius Domitus, the one-eyed rebel dragon king, must fight off half of his ungrateful family on a regular basis to keep law and order in his lands. But he never expected to have to consort with a barbarian human woman. Kachka may be beautiful and fierce, but the feared Daughter of the Steppes has no time for foolish dragons. Though she may have a thing for his eyepatch . . .   Bring the Heat Aidan the Divine is also a delight, cheerful, charming, and a royal warrior who is extremely handsome with a very large and well-hidden hoard of gold. And yet, Branwen the Awful—a low-born, no less—either tells him to shut up or, worse, ignores him completely. But if they’re going to win the war, they’re going to have to fight side by side . . .   Dragon on Top   Ghleanna the Decimator knows no fear, no pain, and no mercy. She does, however, know acute embarrassment! Especially after getting dumped by a bastard dragon in front of her own troops. All she wants to do is sulk in her cave but Her Majesty has ordered her to escort Bram the Merciful through dangerous territories—not exactly the best use of her military training. Then again . . . Bram is quite easy on the eyes . . .   Praise for the Dragon Kin Series    “Aiken’s patented mix of bloodthirsty action, crazy scenarios and hilarious dialogue have made this series a truly unique pleasure.”—RT Book Reviews, 4½ Stars   “A chest thumping, mead-hall rocking, enemy slaying brawl of a good book.” —All Things Urban Fantasy   “Laugh-out-loud funny—I loved it!” —New York Times bestselling author Thea Harrison

Wonderful

The collection of novels and a novella is steamy, snarky and full of action and suspense. Great characters make this come alive.

I confess- I have a thing for dragons- especially dragons with personalities. If an author can bring to life these mythical beings with the written word- I am all in.

I read the first book and was hungry for more. It didn’t even have to be a lot more. So, when I saw this bundle- I gleefully bought it. The price was great- and I got to know the Cadawalder family of dragons who loved to brawl, battle, argue, defend their kin and kingdom and when they meet their mates- run scared, and then run to their fated mates with all the heat and passion one would expect of a host of dragons who can shift and become human at will.

While Ms. Aiken did an awesome job of bringing the characters to life and a lot of the sex was gratuitous- it was hilarious!!! I read it through my 4th bout of Covid. It was the ONLY THING that made me smile for those two weeks. Around that, I have savored and enjoyed the reading. I didn’t attack it like I would a bag of caramel corn but the way I would a box of chocolate covered pretzels- making each chapter something special.

Ms. Aiken is pure genius. If you love Sci-Fi fantasy and dragons- you will love this book. If you enjoyed Anne McCaffrey’s dragon rider books with all the seriousness- you’ll have a blast reading this set of dragon books with dragons that piss each other off because one eats their horse or a host of little things humans do to irritate each other but done larger than life as dragons.

Good stuff- fun stuff!! I absolutely loved it. I will look for more by this excellent writer. Her books are very well written- wonderfully edited and books I would happily read again the next time I have lots of time because I sure don’t want Covid again!!! Thanks, Ms. Aiken!!!

Love the Dragonkin World

There is everything in these books. Love, sex, adventure, suspense, and humor. Especially the humor. Literally had tears (of laughter) in some parts. If I could've though I would have given it 4 1/2 stars because of the grammar. The incomplete sentences, in all of her books, actually, drive me a little crazy, as well as missing or misplaced commas. So I guess I want it all. Excellent writing, wonderful characters, and proper grammar. I will still, however, read everything this author writes because she's brilliant. Just find a good proofreader and you're golden.

Have you ever encountered an author who, before you've ever read a book by them, you just know they are the author for you? From the first time I heard about G.A. Aiken/Shelly Laurenston on Smart Podcast, Trashy Books I knew I was going to love her books. And sure enough, Dragonkin is my catnip.

Dragons! Angry, angry, violent heroines. A wonderful sense of the absurd. I'm only sad that it's over. I have one more novella to read (Can't Get Enough) then there will be no more new to me Dragonkin.

Lots of fun different stories, all within the same universe and all are characters that we meet along the way. This series does a great job of moving the story along with each new book and introducing characters and conflicts that don't feel over done or redone. The spicy is spicy, the love is well done, the women are all strong characters in very different ways. My only issue with the series as a whole is the lack of diversity. It's all hetero love with maybe none-hetero hinted at but not seen.

I love this series.

I have read this series repeatedly. It makes me laugh, cry, worry, and rejoice every single time. I wish there were more books in this series, but love the ones that do exist.

Not your average everyday Dragon shifter series, this puts ALL others to shame.

Great series

Taken one at a time or in a bundle, the Dragon Kin series is a delight. Set in a mythical world that vaguely resembles the middle ages, the characters really carry all of the stories. I enjoyed reading every snarky, bloody, romantic page.
