I really enjoyed this recipe collection, and my family gave enthusiastic thumbs-ups to all the recipes I tried save one (the cauliflower "mac & cheese").
I looked at The Beginner’s Keto Meal Plan: A Six-Week Guide to Starting Your Keto Diet the Right Way by Kassey Cameron because my mother has a copy. I am tending toward a keto diet because of health issues. The book lists individual foods to avoid but not ones to choose. But, it does provide almost 100 recipes, many of which have photos. Based on my experience with other keto recipes, some of them look boring, so I haven’t tried them. However, some of them are fine, although I know the flavors my family likes and tend to add extra onion or garlic or certain other spices to some types of recipes. If you need a plan for several weeks, this might be good. If you just want recipes and will make your own plan, I would probably go for a different keto cookbook. But, this one isn’t bad, so I am giving it 3 stars.
I initially thought that I would enjoy reading this book because the recipes looked appealing. However, after trying out some of the dishes mentioned in it, I found that they were not as tasty as I had hoped. While some of the desserts turned out well, overall, I felt like I had wasted a lot of time, money, and energy on these recipes.
This is not just a cookbook but also doubles as a six-week meal plan. I did not utilize this, but I like that for people who are unsure of how to get started, it's right there, no guesswork. Every other page displays an esthetically pleasing picture, which is helpful when trying to figure out if my mess is resembling anything close to hers. Overall, a good low calorie cookbook!
