Bad people involved in completing crazy and dangerous tasks. If you try to run or do something you shouldn't, your head gets blown off. It's amazing how much you find out how powerful The Country Club really is.
How on earth I got hooked on Tim Miller I will never know, but these little novellas/serials are sick and twisted, I want to say they are humorous, but some of the stuff Tim writes about is nowhere near being humorous, but the tone, if I dare say, is light.
You don't feel all bummed and heavy after reading these books, they are kind of like a good horror movie that is more about the practical effects than the scare. These books aren't scary (unless you actually think about how this stuff actually is going on in America, almost to the tee as how its described, if you believe the "fake news")
This is the fourth to this "Country Club" series, and when you read them all together they make a pretty hefty novel. There is an actual plot, which basically is about this urban legend that is known as "The Country Club" --think Hostel in the US. That's the premise. Some bloggers try to locate this "urban legend" known as the Country Club, a shadow operation in Texas that caters to the extremely wealthy who come in to torture and kill whomever gets nabbed and brought in. That's what happens to the bloggers, they get caught and put in cages to be killed...
That's the first two books. Then there is "Suicide Hotline" which adds more depth to the Country Club series as it shows a side operation run by the same guy who runs Country Club (but you don't find out until the end of that book, sorry, but it's not a huge spoiler).
This is the fourth book which takes "the last girl standing" and puts her in a new rich, sick and twisted scenario that has "teams' of two driving in the South West on a murderous type of "Amazing Race" where they are thrown together, chipped for explosion if they deviate, and given tasks to complete in a time limit. These tasks can be from "Go into the bar and shoot the bartender" (said bar is filled with bikers) to go to this fair and kill as many people as you can, but don't use a gun.
Tim stretches his imagination in this book with some of the OTT gore, but that's what these are all about...there is even a bit of fourth-wall breaking in a scene towards the end...
Yeah, so that was this book. The whole "road rage" premise only lasts as long as this one, but it sets up for a new "Asylum" game in the next one.
Bring it on.....
In the end, these books are the flip side to the mommy-porn novellas that are all the rage..(yeah, I read a ton of those too). So these are just my other dirty secret.
Also, they are all Kindle Unlimited, so no harm in checking them out.
