An amazing book to share with your wee one.The book imparts self-worth and confidence into children as they understand that God uniquely designed them, placed them in their specific family and orchestrated every aspect of their lives from infancy through adulthood. Illustrations attract the children as I read it to my 2 year old granddaughter. She was enthralled!!

This is a beautiful heartfelt book to remind children that they were made with loveand purpose and that they are special, wanted and unique in their own special ways and encourages children to love themselves for who they are as individuals the way God and their loved ones do.
The illustrations are so cute and relatable and I love how they included children from different cultures, abilities and children with disabilities too.
This is a great book to read with your little one to remind them they are special and loved.
Such an encouraging book! THE DAY GOD MADE YOU comforts young readers and adults too, with the message that God created every detail about them for a purpose and with love. Thanks to Thomas Nelson: CHILDREN'S and NetGalley for the review copy. Opinions are mine.
The Day God Made You is a beautiful heartfelt book to remind children that they were made with love. God made them, picked the family they belong in and is with them everyday. It stresses that we are all individuals with special talents. God loves them and they need to love themselves for who they are. The illustrations are wonderful, showing diverse children and families. They are cute, showing children doing all sorts of things and also include children with disabilities. I really liked this story, except for the line that God has planned out everything in their lives. I believe God has given us free will to make some choices for ourselves, but my grandchildren are too young to worry about that right now. We read this as a bedtime story and the children enjoyed it. I recommend this one to all families who believe in a higher being. This is one I would purchase for my Sunday School classroom.
A good solid message that I highly recommend to families with younger children, the pictures are sure to keep their attention and the story is one that they should hear!
I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
This charming picture book celebrates God's design for every person. Author Rory Feek created this book for a parent or grandparent to share with a child, and it encourages readers to see God's hand in their appearance, personality, interests, and family background. The illustrations by Malgosia Piatkowska are gentle and colorful, and they picture a diverse group of children with different ethnic backgrounds, hair colors, hobbies, and abilities. This book doesn't specifically address special needs children, but the illustrations throughout the book picture various children in wheelchairs, and the book's underlying message is that God has lovingly designed all of His children, regardless of their differences.
The poem also lightly addresses the topic of suffering, explaining that on the day that God made you, He knew "the sound of your voice and the tears you cry too." A later page mentions that God knew what you would struggle with, and how it would grow you. This gentle, poetic picture book can't possibly take on the problem of evil, but I appreciate its honesty about life. This book doesn't flinch away from acknowledging that life will be hard, and that God can still be with us in the midst of it.
The Day God Made You is sweet and reassuring, helping children see God's love for them without making them the center of the universe. Some books with similar titles essentially tell a child that they are creation's crowning moment, but this book helps children begin to see their identity, their place in their families, and their roles in their world through the lens of God's goodness and great love for them. This is a wonderful book for families, and it avoids the trap of shallow, self-focused esteem messages to help children see their value in God's eyes.

Children love to hear that they are loved and accepted. The Day God Made You shares the difference your child makes in this world. Who they are, what they do, whom they love, it all matters to God. A book written by father to shares his love and God's love with his daughter. It is whimsical and lovely.

It's a great reminder in these times that God did know what we would face when He made us and He created us the way He did for a purpose. The illustrations are perfect for all ages. The pace of the story is great to keep younger kids engaged and teaches important truths. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion.

Liked: I liked the message of this book. Disliked: In the beginning some of the text was too specific to one child’s preferences. Learned: God made us different, each of us a unique combination. I think that this is a good reminder for any age! Quotes: “He mixed them together, and when he was through, God smiled a big smile the day He made you.”
Oh, this precious story book brought all the joyful tears to my eyes! What a sweet celebration of a child’s life this book is. I loved that it instills the belief that God knew a child before they were even formed in the womb. A book where children can find comfort and peace in the fact they are known and loved, that they are a unique and delightful creation… Reminding little readers that God knows them inside and out and loves them for who they are is something that cultivates a deeply rooted faith, a sense of purpose and grounds young hearts and minds. In addition, this story book uplifts and encourages children to dream, hope and love big. For that aspect alone, this book is a great addition to a child’s bookshelf!
The book also celebrates diversity and disabilities in its lovely and creative illustrations while offering soft, lyrical words that make the story flow gently and happily. As a parent, this is a definite go-to story book to encourage my daughter and reinforce the beautiful things we want to teach in our home. As an adoptive family, I especially love that it teaches my daughter that she’s known, loved and was created exactly the way God intended her to be, knowing all that her life means and will mean to those around her in her future.
This is a beautifully illustrated book that I could tell was written with love and a lot of heart-felt feelings. Each page is a new discovery for the reason God creates wonderful children to inhabit the world. It begins with the things of childhood and progresses to adulthood and all the difference that one child can make. It is an absolutely breathtaking look at God’s creation and the fact that each person has a purpose. Parents and grandparents will want to purchase this book and read it over and over again to their precious little ones, showing them the value that they have and how they were not an accident or a mistake, but a purposeful creation of a loving Father in Heaven. Charming and exceptionally Biblical look at how God sees each child He makes!

Written in rhyme it is the perfect book to share with your precious little ones to let them know how special they are to you and to God. It assures each child of their value and worthiness and how each one has a purpose in this magnanimous world that we live in.
The book imparts self-worth and confidence into children as they understand that God uniquely designed them, placed them in their specific family and orchestrated every aspect of their lives from infancy through adulthood. Everything about them is under His watchful eye and in His loving care.
Parents, Grandparents and Caregivers will be delighted to share this book with the little ones that they love so dearly. This book tugs at your heartstrings and binds reader and child together. It is best served snuggled down and wrapped in lots of hugs and kisses. I highly, highly recommend this book.
Rory Feek's New Children's Book Celebrates Inclusivity in Kids (and Adults). As written in People Magazine, "This book is a 'beautiful reminder to all children that God created them with purpose and love.'"
I love Rory Feek's writing. It would make a beautiful keepsake gift for kids and I think reminds us adults that we are special no matter who we are or what we might struggle with. Love this book!
Rory also made a cute FLOG (vlog from the farm!) and a video with Indy reading the book that I really enjoyed. Folks can watch those on his YouTube channel.
This is one of the sweetest children’s books I have read to date. It is such an uplifting story. It affirms that God knows everything about us before we are even created. It also tells children thar even when they are experiencing tough times that God knew about these moments the day they were created. It helps to affirm that God is always with us and will never leave us. We must put our faith and trust in Him. This will definitely be a staple baby shower and children’s birthday gift from our family!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
This heartwarming picture book reinforces the specialness of each child. Written for his daughter, the sweet affirmations in the text are ones every child needs to hear. The rhythm flows well most of the time, adding to the enjoyment of the read-aloud. From their daily lives now to their dreams for the future, children’s imaginations can soar as they explore their own possibilities. I received a copy from Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
Very sweet book emphasizing how special the young lady is but also the others pictured. Kudos for including a variety of kids from different backgrounds. Graphics coordinate for the most part with the story except the section where the flamingos are in the water. Didn’t look like a zoo to me. Looked more like in the girl’s backyard. Kids love graphics and very colorful ones keep their interest longer. I received an advanced copy at no cost from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a peek into a beautiful book in exchange for an honest review.
This book would make an excellent addition to a church library and an child's bed table. These reminders of the wonder of God and his purpose for us all should be instilled in our children's hearts. The illustrations are lovely, as well. They take me to the simpler times that I wish for all children.
I requested and received an e-ARC of this book from Rory Feek and Thomas Nelson: CHILDREN’S through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This was a cute book that has Indiana’s dad explaining all the things God did to create Indiana. I loved the beautiful illustrations; the colours are so vibrant and the illustrator included all races, sexes, and abilities. This book would be great for gifting as it also includes a beautiful inscription space on the inside page.
This is a lovely book to read to young children to let them know just how special they are in the eyes of God. Its text and colorful illustrations show children how God knows every detail about them and their lives, and loves and cherishes them unconditionally.
Note: I gratefully received an advanced reader's copy of this book from its publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
I have never read a children's book from Rory Feek that I didn't love and The Day God Made You doesn't disappoint. This book is so sweet! The illustrations are beautiful! It gives a clear and true message to kids and adults alike that God knows all about us whatever we go through and whatever we do. I highly recommend this to all families read! Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the chance to read this book!
This is a heartfelt religious book to remind children that they were made with love. The author wrote this to his young children following the death of his wife. He stressed that they were matched with the exact family so they would be loved. The illustrations are beautifully diverse including children with disabilities. I really liked this story and recommend this to all Christian families to use for bedtime reading.
A wonderful poem filled with the feelings, hopes and dreams a parent sees in their child. Illustrations are beautiful, we had many different stories to go with all the pictures, but Indiana's story is definitely a great one to share at reading and/or bedtime. PS: Cookies and ice cream are favorites at our house too.
This book has beautiful illustrations to match the rich, rhyming text. It is simple enough for a child of any age to understand. What I really liked is that it is perfect for all of God’s beautiful children to read or be read to. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I received this ARC from the publisher through Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
I was excited about this one, thinking it would be a great one for my own daughter. It fell flat for me. It's long and the text is in handwritten script, so little eyes can't follow along easily. I don't see buying things for myself or for a gift.
I was able to read The Day God Made You by Rory Feek for free from Netgalley for providing me with an advanced ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is such an encouraging book. It shows how diversity and differing abilities are celebrated, beautiful illustrations and encouraging words that we are all in God's hands.
