She’s a baker. He’s a boxer. Their businesses are side by side and completely incompatible. But are they? Sophie Johansson moves to New York City to be free of entanglements from the past and to prove to herself she can make it on her own. She also wants to fulfill her dream of opening a bakery. Unfortunately, the business next door disturbs the peace she desires. The infamous boxer, Teagh Coyle, pounded his way to the top then found himself back at the bottom after an ugly divorce. He starts over in a new city and opens a boxing gym in an effort to remake his life. Then he meets the total knockout next door. Soon they’re rivals in business, but it also turns out they live in the same building and keep crossing paths—including with his ex who starts to make life difficult. When Sophie has a close call in the alley behind her bakery, Teagh steps in...and sweeps her off her feet. Literally. But when he needs her help in a time of crisis, a secret from her past comes to the surface, making her feel fragile and unsure if she can trust what’s heating up between them. Can they make it through the challenges facing their relationship and win the fight for each other? This is book 1 in the Only Us Billionaire Romance series. Each book stands alone but reading them in order provides a deeper, richer experience. It is a sweet, “clean and wholesome” romance without swearing or mature content and contains a happily ever after. If you like opposites-attract love, sweet chemistry, and a dash of clever suspense, then you’ll adore this heartwarming romance.

Most certainly not my cup of tea. I was looking for a nice romance, not a bleeding heart, forever crushed by life, series of sob stories and a very ho hum ending. If I don't make it to church this week, I can feel that I made up for it with all the preaching, life lessons, etc. contained in what was supposed to be a love story, which strayed far and to left field. I truly do not recommend this book to anyone as it is a dismal, boring read.
Sweet romance between two neighbors - neighbors in business and in the same apartment building. It's a book to have a good time but it's far from memorable. The romance seems kind of random (I felt it only happened because the characters were neighbors) and the tension moment seems to be a way to keep the story going for a few more pages - it happened kind of out of the blue. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it!
I did actually enjoy this story, but it was hard to work around the issues. First, editing issues. For the first 30% of the book, it is unclear whether or not Teagh actually knows Sophie’s name. Sometimes, he does and then he doesn’t. It’s the type of mistake that frustrates me because it’s so basic. Even the author (who would typically miss stuff because they’re so close to the material) should have caught this kind of error. It’s not the only continuity error, but it is the most glaring. Second, character issues. Within a day of the beginning of an acquaintance, Teagh is already telling Sophie that he doesn’t want her to go in the alley without him. Her response is “okay.” Ummm, I’m far from a feminist, but he’s kinda overbearing in order to “protect” her or keep her safe. He does offer to teach her self-defense, but at that point, she’s refused it. Third, plot issues. The characters rush into “love” and then fall out of it really quickly. The issues that had been set up to be issues never materialized (weirdly) and it’s almost like the characters face completely new fears/issues at the end of the story that didn’t seem to be present at the beginning. The author tries to tie them together, but by then, it almost seems excessive.
Strong religious (Christian) tones, definitely more than a secular book with a nod to Christianity. Nothing graphic or cringe-worthy.
I’ve read other books by this author that I’ve enjoyed. And, despite my critique, I did enjoy this story. I’ve already downloaded the next novel in this series, but only because it’s “free” to me through Kindle unlimited.

Sophie Johansson just recently opened her bakery Honey and Lavender when she has to deal with loud rock music playing at the boxing gym next door making it difficult to hear her customers. Deciding to kill the owner with kindness she takes over some baked goods but seeing the way the large angry looking man is hitting the heavy bag she just leaves. When the owner later comes to her rescue she suddenly sees him in a different light.
Teagh Coyle is close to opening his own boxing gym but the scents coming from the bakery next door are hard to resist so he wanders over just to find the owner is vaguely familiar. A few days later a disturbance has him going into full on protective mode when Sophie is in danger. Teagh finds himself quickly taken in by the adorably sweet bakery owner but what will he do when his ex shows up determined to cause trouble?
First - this author needs a decent proofreader in the worst possible way. Second - why would a guy NOT tell his bakery owning girlfriend he has a deady peanut allergy. Third - how does a guy catch his ex-wife kissing a guy, manage to get through a nasty divorce, losing all his assets to her, and still make such an outrageous financial comeback in just one year? And fourth - we all know this is a romance novel and expect Sophie and Teagh will end up together so I'll just say this - Teagh's proposal fell REALLY flat for me. No woman wants a guy to say, 'I want you in my life... if that means I have (read - HAVE) to put a ring on your finger... then I will'.
Sophie and Teagh are new business owners, and they're businesses just so happen to be next to each other. They have an interesting start, but are quickly drawn in.
I really like Teagh. He had a lot of layers.
Everything was going fairly well in the story, until the allergy incident. Sophie's reaction was odd. She's cursed? As a baker, she should have been more aware of allergies, especially peanuts. But it was also Teagh's responsibility to inform someone who baked for him of his needs.
That whole situation was weird. Instead of focusing on the incompatibility of wanting marriage vs not wanting marriage (which is a deal breaker), they focused on curses, weakness, and allergies.
I also felt like there was so much more to be discovered and explored between Sophie and Teagh, but also separately. Their growth, especially Teagh's seemed to happen off-page.
I got 83% of the way through and gave up. There were too many moments that were over the top, too coincidental and I just didn’t care any more. The title of the book didn’t make sense either but maybe you have to get to the end to find the billionaire?
There was also a LOT more religious content than I was expecting, and to be honest, if I wanted to be preached at I’d go to church, I don’t need it in my novels. Glad it was free.
A sweet innocent woman meets the big bad boxer! She's just opened a bakery and he's opening up a boxing/ martial arts gym next door. Quite frankly it was totally boring. Other than her praying a couple of times...nothing happened. Struggled through to 44% and couldn't take any more. Sickly sweet, fortunately found it free.
I read this book as part of the #Bookopoly readathon for September. It fulfilled the Opulent prompt. I also like to try new authors, so I gave Ellie Hall a try with my Kindle Unlimited. So, this book is a sweet contemporary, which isn't usually a sub-genre I read, or at least not very often. Teagh was a great main character. I liked him from the beginning. I found Sophie to be delightful and relatable though just a little preachy. They had good chemistry together and the characters had decent growth from start to finish. Overall, this was a fine read. So, why only 3 stars? Because when I read a billionaire romance, I don't want it casually dropped in when I'm two-thirds of the way through the book. It was incredibly casual and mentioned only when Sophie was in danger of losing her dream. I don't need the uber-rich character to be obnoxious about his/her wealth - look at my gold toilet, my gold escalator, my Lambo - I like when people who are that rich don't act like a typical entitled person, but I mean come on there was nothing, other than the title, to tell me the reader dude had bank for two-freaking-thirds of the book? Seriously? The other thing that will stop me from picking up another Ellie Hall book is she writes Christain romances, which is perfectly fine, it's just not my cup of tea. I want to be taken out of my daily life when I read these billionaire romances, I don't want to be reminded of the mundane when I am looking for some escapism. So, having said all of that, it was a sweet book and the characters were fun, so if you are looking for a sweet Christain romance, then definitely pick up Only a Date with a Billionaire. You'll enjoy it.
Sophie leaves her life and fiance (the one with realistic expectations for her life) to open a bakery in New York. Music blasting from the business next door is entirely too loud, so Sophie sets out to make peace. Teagh has just been through a nasty divorce, and opens a boxing gym next door to Sophie's bakery. He rescues her in the alley one evening, and they find out that they live in the same building. His parents show up early for a visit from Scotland, and assume that they are a couple. Their attraction is obvious; they don't make an immediate attempt to correct the situation, and give it a go. Unfortunately, his ex-wife's new boyfriend can offer her what she needs ($$) so she's trying to dig her claws into Teagh again. This is such a sweet (pun intended) story. Teagh and Sophie aren't sizzling hot, but there's mutual attraction and respect between them, and his parents love her. And why have I not read anything from this author before now? This book and the characters were so nice that I just bought the box set of the other books in this series.

Sophie and Teagh are new neighbors, both with new businesses, as well as at home. This means they bump into each other constantly and are on the defensive every time. She has a bakery and he is restarting with a gym. She gets into trouble behind her store and he steps in to help. He later needs a little help and she assists when his ex tries to come back onto the scene, and his parents are happy Sophie is around. This book has a very slow build, but those sometimes are the best and last forever. Just the story that will brighten up a bad day for you. It is a book you will not be able to put down, but smile when you do.

Sophie has moved to New York and achieved her dream of starting her own bakery business. Scotsman Teagh works next door and has his own gym business. Even though they get off on the wrong foot they soon become friends and even more. But they both have relationship hang-ups and they have to work through them. - This Christian romance book was quite disjointed in its telling. Certain aspects of the main characters seemed to have parts of their history shoehorned in later on almost like an after-thought. The main characters did get a bit annoying at times and nothing really came of the nasty ex-wife either. Also, the ‘billionaire’ status as named in the title isn’t mentioned much in the book so it’s a bit misleading.
Sophie owns a bakery and is sweet and generous while Teagh owns a boxing gym and is tough and suspicious. They’re work and apartment neighbors who didn’t get off on the right foot until she’s held at knife point in their shared alley and he starts to feel protective towards her. I loved his fast talking enthusiastic Scottish parents. They were so funny and welcoming of who they assumed was Teagh’s new girlfriend Sophie and protective against his nasty ex-wife. The baked goods Sophie made and the meals Teagh cooked sounded so yummy. This was sweet Christian romance with funny, sweet, and some sad moments.
I always enjoy picking up a book by Ms. Hall and this one did not disappoint either. This is the first book in The Only Us Billionaire Romance series. I think the series is off to a great start. Teagh's parents are visiting and assume him and Sophie are a couple. They don't necessarily deny it, and given their chemistry it's not so far fetched. I really loved the sweet relationship that grew between the two. The character development was great and Sophie and Teagh were an endearing couple. Loved the book, can't wait to read the next installment!

I gave this book 4 stars, it was a great read. There was definitely something between the MC since they first lay eyes on each other. Him so grumpy and her so sweet, the perfect recipe for long lasting love.
Even though I don't enjoy that much third person reading, this one proved to be a good story where opposites attract. A nice balance between sweet, love at first sight and angst. The Christian touch was a fresh change from all the romance I've been reading lately.
If you are looking for a "vainilla" romance this is certainly a most read.
Sophie is elated to start her bakery. It's been her dream for as long as she can remember. Now, if she could only hear her customers order and herself think over the noise from the boxing gym next door, she's be pleased. Teagh left professional boxing at the height, or almost, of his career. The Scotsman chose NYC as the location for his boxing gym. Now he has the neighboring shop owner trying to fill his life with carbs! Cute and funny with personal experiences to overcome, you'll love this sweet story!
Sophie has been given a fresh start in the form of an inheritance. She makes the move to New York to the apartment that she’s inherited and uses the money to open up a bakery. This puts her in the path of a rude Scot who might just find a soft place in his heart for a sweet baker, even if he is a macho boxing enthusiast! A great read about the power of God in our lives and the importance of His timing.

This is the first time I am reading this Author and I would say there's nothing intresting in this book though the writing and the editing of the book is great, but I think the author has soo much potential to do better. Just if the author had a different or I should say an interesting storyline the book would be great.
Though I would not recommend this book to anyone but yes, great efforts from the Author.
Nice story, I liked Sophie and Teagh. They each were affected by bad relationships, which caused some problems between them. I thought they both reacted badly when Teagh had an allergic reaction-he had asked her when he was cooking if she had any food allergies but neglected to mention that he had one. She went crazy thinking she had almost killed him. Thankfully, things were resolved which led to a happy ending.
I truly enjoyed reading this book from beginning to the end. It's a delightful & moving romance. Sophie & Teagh, are both opening a new business. Unfortunately, they first meeting got off to a rocky start. Sophie, is a sweet & caring baker. Teagh, is a grumpy boxer. But their attraction is undeniable. Another great story in the series. A Must Read!!
This store owner's first meeting started with the wrong foot. Sophie moves to New York for a fresh start and to set up her own bakery. Teach is a hot and brooding Scot who owns a boxing gym. It's angsty, sweet and slow-burnish.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Sophie was all sunshine and stars and Teague was all hard muscle on the outside and mushy pasta on the inside (this will make more sense after you’ve read the book). Together they clicked. There is also a big lesson on positivity and kindness. Read and enjoy.
Interesting and sweet story. Good examples of why first impressions are not always the best; secrets can poison ones life as well as take a life of its own; and fear hinders growth while love conquers all. These aspects of every day life are wrapped up in a sensitive and exciting storyline. You will have fun reading it.
She is a baker and he is a boxer but they are also rivals as they have business next to each. Can they continue to work their way? Will they find they have a connection? Can they become more? See what will happen between them

Don’t have a sweet tooth, but didn’t need it for this sweet story
I picked up a free copy of this book from a Bookfunnel promotion for clean Christian romances and was rewarded with this well written, enjoyable story that flowed smoothly and had some substance involving trust, families and faith in addition to the requisite love. Looking forward to reading more from Ms Hall.
I read this book over a year ago, but cannot find the review. This was not one of this author's best books, but still rates a 3.5 to 4. Interesting characters and unique situations keep pushing the book along. A mediocre storyline, but can you imagine having businesses and living in the same building in a place like NYC. What are the chances?
Miss Ellie writes wonderful books that puts her faith in the books she writes. I love her books and am so glad I can call her my friend. God gave her a talent for writing HEA that are swoon-worthy while talking about God but being in your face about it. This was a Billionaire book which is my favorite.
So excited for another Only Us book! I have been so sad the series was over and so excited to find another book! There were wonderful characters, as usual, and some good pieces of wisdom within.

Loved this fun, romantic story!! Sophie moves to New York City to set up her own bakery which happens to be next door to sexy, gruff, Scottish boxer, Teagh. Lots of sweet, tender moments as well as some laugh out loud conversations. I loved all of it! Clean romance. Highly recommend this story!
