What do you do, when everything you've been taught is a lie?
As the newest member of the Mage Council, Kyla Langston is sent on a mission to House Draconis to find out why the shifters have united. She's not looking forward to spending any time with the savage brutes until she meets the Dragon King. He challenges everything she's ever been told about his kind. Instead of running away from him, she wants to run right into his arms instead. Torn between two worlds, she doesn't know how to honor the Council's wishes while also honoring her heart's desire.
Galen never asked to be King of House Draconis. As if dealing with the vampire menace isn't enough, he's also stuck contending with a gorgeous, but bristly, mage. Kyla is unlike anyone he's ever known. She's smart, cunning, and possesses all of the qualities he'd want in a mate. But he'll never cross that line with her. Years ago, he promised himself he'd never forgive the mages for what they did, and nothing she can do will make him change his mind.
As the tension between the mages and shifters comes to a head, they must navigate generations of hatred and mistrust to come together to save their people. They barely trust each other, but as they work together to fight the vampires, their fiery relationship might be exactly what they need to save themselves from extinction.
Riley is one of those early-morning people you love to hate, because she swears she doesn't need caffeine, even though the coffee-maker is connected to her smartphone. She lives in a three-story townhouse by the good graces of a tabby-cat who rules the house, the couch, the table, well, basically everywhere. When she's not groveling for forgiveness for neglecting to pet her kitty enough, Riley is strapped in to her writing chair coming up with crazy worlds where she can make her own decisions of when feeding time is and how much coffee can be drank without her friends--of which she has three--holding yet another intervention that they threaten to post on the internet.

Delve into the captivating story of Claimed by the Dragon King, the fifth installment of High House Draconis that will grab your attention from the very first page. This tale is filled with unexpected twists and turns as shifters confront a darkness they thought had long disappeared.
Amid the action and danger, strong-willed women capture the hearts of fierce dragon shifters. However, in doing so, they find themselves facing threats right at their doorstep.
YEAH, THIS ONE WAS EEHHHHHH......THE HERO, DIDN'T APPEAR MUCH LIKE AN ALPHA AND HE'S WALLOWING IN A LOVE THAT'S LONG GONE, IT WAS A LITTLE...MEHHHHHH....
GALEN is one of the dragons that was woken up, but he's also one of the eldest which makes his King almost by default. He's also a mage hater because one of them killed him mate, centuries ago. I get that whole I love my mate till I die thing, but the way he was clinging onto it and crying like a baby after he had sex with our heroine....I don't know, I want to feel bad and sympathize, but maybe it's the way it was written without finesse that I just couldn't bring myself to open up to it. The plot itself was...not that interesting.
KYLA is one of the youngest mage in the house and is sent to get some answers from the House of Draconis, seeing how the Archmage is worried about the shifters banding together. Will they be declaring war against the mage? The moment Kyla meets Galen, she's sort of attracted? And likewise for him. She's pretty cool in the sense that her powers were almost on par with Galen and I think my favourite part is when they fought and she demanded his respect...though she seemed a little arrogant to me. Can't blame her if she's that good at her powers I guess.
OVERALL this could almost pass for a BBW story, and the plot well it wasn't that engaging to be frank. I skimmed mostly, and the chemistry between the characters could have been better.
OMG SO GOOD!!! A FANTASTIC BOOK TO FINISH THE SERIES!!!!!! Mage Council, Kyla Langston has been sent to House Draconis to speak to the Dragon King. The Mage council had heard rumours that they were getting together with the other shifters to take the Mages out. So it was Kyla's job to go and ask questions. She knew that dragons were not the nicest of shifters but she had to try and get some answers. But meeting King Galen confused her, he made her feel things. He wasn't the friendliest of shifters but he did take the time to talk to her. Galen was getting ready for the fight of his life, well if honest her knew he would not make it out of the battle but he was ready to die by the sides of his shifter brothers. When Kyla came asking questions he just wanted her gone. He didnt like or trust Mages. They couldnt be trusted. But he did explain about the Vampires, not that she believed him until she saw it with her own eyes. Kyla knew the council would not want to help them she needed to come up with a plan. But when feelings for Galen come into play things get very tense. This is the final book in the High House Draconis series and boy does it go out with a bang. A fantastic book and A Fantastic series. I'm going to miss these guys. Might just have to go and re read the whole series once again. A brilliant read!!!!

Absolutely One of the Best Dragon Series Written. Claimed by the Dragon King - High House Draconis, Book 5 is by author, Riley Storm has complete this series with this book. She gave us an amazing storyline with its characters (human and otherwise). In this storyline we are now introduced to the Mage, Kyla who’s been assigned to seek out King Galen of Draconis but according to the Mages, the dragons are sworn enemies. But, the Archmage wants Kyla to, covertly find out why the dragons have rallied together the other Houses into an alliance as he feels the dragons are plotting to take over and war with them. Kyla meets with King Galen and it does not go well. He is closed off and she is guarded. Mostly based on prejudices and the death of Galen’s mate Kathryn due to a Mage. However they soon finds each attractive and in bed. War is upon them. Twists and turns surface. A truly wonderfully and totally unexpected HEA accompanied by a fantastic ancestral story. This series and it’s books were pretty much flawless and would be enjoyed by all. However there are steamy scenes so if that is an issue you may want to skip those pages. I am highly recommending this book and the series for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.
Claimed by the Dragon King: High House Draconis (Book 5) By Riley Storm Kindle unlimited purchase The times may be dire, but when Galen was told he was awoken to be the next "king" of the dragons he couldn't believe he was chosen. But that is what happened so he was King and he was chosen to fight the vampires and stop them from taking over, well everything. Kyla is a mage she is the youngest mage on the Mage Council so when she was asked to go see why the dragons were forming alliances with the other shifters she knew it was important. She was going to find out what they were up to. The 5 book of this series and the 3 sets of books in this world. In the High House Ursa series it was hinted that an "evil" was coming well it's here now. The last couple of chapters in this book was actioned packed. Tied everything together, in a nice little bow. found out there is more, another series in this world is out. Storm Dragons series stars with Stolen by the Dragon.
Finding new truths behind accepted ones is powerful.
Adult PNR, HEA,(mage/dragon) short reads. They overcame slavery yet still clung to the "truths" dictated by their previous undead masters. A new generation chooses to challenge past ideas and find out for herself with suprising results. Their supposed enemies want the same things from life that they do. The power of love and life defeats the un-natural death in a gruelling battle. There are losses, but with the combined forces many more than expected are left to build upon the alliances forged. Hope for the future lifts their sperits and knowledge of lives not wasted lift grieving hearts.

This final book in the series about the dragons returning to battle the vampires is one of my favorites of the series. They both have to step up to meet the needs of all the groups.
Kyla and Galen really make for a great but unexpected couple. She is a mage and they have kept their distance from shifters since the great battle they lost. She is sent to investigate (and maybe more) but finds out that the situation is not what they thought.
He is trying to lead the dragons against a formidable enemy. He didn't expect to be a leader but it is the role that is needed. I liked that he doesn't have a big ego and really is focused on what needs to be done to protect others.
They definitely have great chemistry from the very beginning. I really enjoyed their romance and the ending nicely wraps up the series.
Galen now king of the dragons is approached by Kyla a member of the Mage Council. Having gone through lessons to get him caught up with the modern world the recently awakened Galen is asked to take the title King since he rose after they asked for a leader. They all know the threat is dire but will not turn from fighting the Vampire horde. Kyla Langston the youngest member of the Mage Council and one of the strongest mages is sent by the Archmage to the High House Draconis on a mission to find out the truth in the rumors that the Dragons have an Alliance with al the other shifters and plan to attack the Mages. She arrives at their stronghold not knowing if she will get out alive.

And a wonderful end to this series. This story has so much going for it...a newly minted king of the dragons, a phenomenally strong female mage, a past that is powerfully affecting and a present that is in dire straits! I was blown away by this story. You have got to read these in order, but it is well worth it. This is a fantastic culmination of the series.
A breakneck pace keeps this action and character oriented storyline blazing along. The tone is intense and the characters are vibrant and kickass! The steamy scenes are blazingly hot too. This is for anyone who loves shifter romances with complex characters and a lot of action! Enjoy! Now I need to go back and read the other two Houses in their box sets, as I am curious!
The dragons are waking and the Mage Council is worried of a return to the hostilities between the two races. They send Kayla, a young but powerful mage, to meet with the new dragon king, Galen, to find out while the dragons are organizing all the shifter species together. Poor Galen is still heartbroken over the loss of his mate centuries before to the mages. While he is attracted to Kyla he believes acting on his feelings will be a betrayal to his dead mate.
It will take both of them to learn to overcome their preconceived notions to find their way to each other and to their HEA. They will need to work together to overcome the real threat to both shifters and mages.

Claimed by the Dragon King by Riley Storm is the fifth book in the High House Draconis series. In this book, a mage named Kyla is sent to investigate a rumor about how the dragons are forcing all the shifters to gather together to go to war with the mages. Kyla immediately goes directly to the dragon keep and demands to speak to the dragon king. Soon, both of these very unlikely foes soon discover that their preconceived ideas about one another are not correct. This is an amazingly adventuresome love story full of sparks that any paranormal romance reader will love. This book is the latest wonderful addition to the High House Draconis series and I loved reading it. Claimed by the Dragon King is a magical enemies to lovers romance.
Kyla was raised to believe dragons are her enemy. Galen believes that all mages are the enemy. One meeting and their worlds are turned upside down. Will Galen be able to open his heart to his enemy? Will Kyla be able to help save them all from the vampires?
While technically you could read these books as stand alones, I think it would be easier to understand everything going on if read in order. I loved seeing the shifters and magi come out on top. I loved how strong Kyla was and how she was determined to stand up for what was right. I didn't blame Galen with everything he had on his shoulders, but loved him slowly opening up to their possible future. Great read and really hope the other 2 houses also get series!

A most satisfying end to all the “High House” series of books. And surprise! I didn’t hate the main female character. (You’ll have to see my review of the other books in these 3 series)
Kyla is strong and intelligent. She has feelings for the Dragon King, Galen, but knows that he is holding back for some reason. For his part, Galen hasn’t had these feelings since his mate died. He never expected to feel this way again. He’s confused about what is happening to him as dragons only mate once. Can it be that fate has given him another chance at love with a second mate?
After the debacle of the characters in the last book, this one really saved the series for me. There’s so much to this final book. I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend it. All three series.
The entire series has been excellent but this book tops them all for non stop action, surprises and sheer readability. I couldn't put it down till the very last page and now I cant wait for the next book. If you haven't read any of the earlier books/series then you are missing out a real treat but you can still read and enjoy this as a stand alone ( then go and find the rest of the books ) Romance, fear, hatred, bravery, despair, loneliness and feisty energetic action all in equal parts ending in a brilliant surprise as well as a hea Cant beat it !

When Kyla is sent by the mage council to find out why the dragons have formed an alliance with the other shifter clans, she is expecting to find that they are about to take on the mages. She does not expect to meet someone like Galen - or to find out that the vampires whom everyone thought extinct were back in force, aiming to enslave all of humanity. Will Galen give in to his feelings? Will hey, together with all of the other supernaturals be able to defeat Honorius? I have enjoyed this series so much - am almost sad that it appears to be over, despite the happy ending! Thank you for the entertainment!

This is the final book in the house of Draconis series and we finally get King Galen's story
He knows that war against the vampires is about to explode so why have the mages sent an envoy just at this time And why does he find her so attractive. Kyla knows that dragons are brutes so why is she so attracted to the one that her leader has sent her to spy on He wants to know why the shifters are uniting under the leadership of the dragons and what they are planning. With both having preconceived notions about the others kind do they have a chance at building something together You will have to read to see
Amazing! I can't say that enough. House Draconis comes to a conclusion with Galen and Kyla. This has everything from betrayal, hurt, magic, shifters, trust, attraction and everything in between. Galen and Kyla are wary of each other because there is so much history with the shifters and the mages. Their attraction and connection is undeniable though and it isn't long before they give in but with everything going on around them, loyalties and their truths are tested. Riley Storm has developed this whole world that I can't get enough of.

AH!! This story is awesome. It tells a story about what you could do if you put aside your prejudices and was willing to help, ALL. I did enjoy the story very much. The story of why Kyla's magic turned silver is the best yet. It was a fun story also. I do hope that we will hear from all of the HIGH HOUSES. Maybe a series on how they make everything work together. i for one would love to hear about it. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
What's a girl to do when she's the youngest Mage on the Council? Kyla is sent on a secret mission to the House Draconis, to find out what the dragons are up to. What she learns when she comes face to face with none other than Gaelon, the Dragon King, and the sparks fly between the two. She learns that the dragons are preparing for the fight of their lives against the vampires. I completely fell in love with these characters. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book via Bad Boy Update.
Wow, I loved this book! Kyla is sent on a secret mission to find out why shifters have united. Then she meets Galen, the Dragon King. The attraction and chemistry between the two is palpable! This is an exciting, easy to follow, and entertaining read. The plot will definitely hold the reader's interest from the first page until the last. I loved the author's writing style, which flows effortlessly from scene to scene. A fantastic read and one I definitely recommend!

This installment had it all, mayhem, magic, second mates, and most of all, the joining of vastly different but the same underneath sides for a common good when they'd all been taught to hate it each other because of someone else's prejudice. In the last hour, a closed heart willing to open despite the hate it had been steeped in saves the night, literally. I got to get this book in paperback. Storm continues to impress me with her writing prowess and her books can't come fast enough.
I really liked these characters, especially Kyla. She is so bada$$. She knows her own mind and doesn’t give up. Galen is a little sad at the first, but by the end I loved him too. This is the fifth book in this series but the first that I’ve read, yet I didn’t feel like I was missing much. The overall story of the fight with the vamps still holds up. This well written easy to read tale was a great shifter/mage read.

The mages are concerned that shifters are uniting. Kyla visits Galen to find the truth, and learns of a greater threat. She needs to find out more and accepts an offer to stay overnight, although she realizes Galen is as antagonistic as she is. Their sparks of hatred will have to change, bridge the divide, and overcome prejudice if they all are to survive. I enjoyed this novel and recommend entire series.

I have read several book in this series and I loved every one of them. This story is, so far, the best of them. The story alone is so well written, so well thought out, it blew me away. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the book. I loved all the characters, and the descriptions were so vivid it was like I was a fly on the wall watching everything unfold. I hope the author continues to write more books such as this one.

Fabulous! What happens when Kayla, the youngest member of the Mage Council and maybe the most powerful, is tasked with meeting the House Draconis to see what they are up to? Falling for the ornery, smoking hot dragon king is not on the agenda, but she finds it hard to not argue and ogle Galen and she tries to find an ulterior motive for the shifters uniting. They are a fiery pair and the over arcing story line comes to a head as they try to find a way to trust each other, work together and deal with the guilt Galen feels that she may be his mate. Loved it!!
