Christmas Eve is a time of love, joy, and… getting it on with two hunky bear shifters.
Tessa’s life has turned into a country song—she lost her job, her roommate, and her parents have holiday plans that don’t include her. At least she has her boyfriend. Until she finds him in their tent with his hands full… of another woman. One stomp-off later, she’s lost in the mountain wilderness—alone, afraid, and still angry as hell.
Thankfully sexy bear shifter Aaron smells her terror and insists on helping her back to his camp—there’s only two problems. First, according to her scent, Tessa is Aaron’s mate. Second, he’s not the only one who can claim her. There’s Aaron’s equally sexy brother, Scott, who also wants Tessa. When an outside threat almost kills Scott, Tessa is forced to face the truth—she's just as enamored with Scott as she is with Aaron. She wants them both!
Tessa has never been attracted to two men at once—and when they inform her that they’ve both imprinted on her, this Christmas surprise has her considering arrangements she’s never imagined…
This standalone holiday romance has hot territorial bear shifters, a smart heroine, and plenty of steam under the stars.
Part of the Howls Romance. ~ Classic romance with a furry twist.
There’s not much of a plot, no real chemistry between the characters and the sex was weirdly disjointed and unsexy. I’ve liked other Kyle books but this is not my fave, not by a long shot.
This is an OK shifter romance, but it seemed like the triad was more in lust than in love -- especially since they mated after only a few days. It also bothered me that the two guys were competing for Tessa at first, and both of them thought their bears might insist on killing the competition -- I had a big problem with the fact that they even considered that option.
I really wished that the story had been a bit longer, to allow more time for character development and a more reasonable timeline for the romance.
One thing, and this is just my personal opinion, but I'm not a big fan of triads or reverse harem romances. I know those are really popular right now, so I understand why authors write them -- but I prefer romances with just two people.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
I enjoyed this read. It was entertaining. It was on the shorter side of things but not too short. Things happened quickly because of the length of the book. Tessa has been having a horrible time of things lately. Everything seems to be going bad. She ends up out in the middle of the woods without her group and then runs into Aaron who helps her out. He says that he will get her to the ranger cabin so that she can head up or meet up with her group. In the middle of that first night, Scott shows up and Aaron and Scott get into it in their shifted bear forms, blowing their cover of just being humans. Both men are drawn to Tessa and believe that she is their mate. Things start out as competition between them for who will end up as her mate. Tessa is shocked to find out that shifters exist and has to come to grips with it and her feelings about both men. On top of it, they have to deal with a bad snowstorm in the middle of it all, stuck out in the forest. There is not a ton of sex in this book, as the story and events just didn't allow for it. What there is, is explicit and m/f/m. Overall, I enjoyed the read but it just didn't grab me like this author's books usually do. I think I just didn't connect to the characters the same. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Tessa was having a very crappy day. She just wanted to get away with her boyfriend and start anew. But it didn’t turn out that way. It went from bad to worse with her catching her boyfriend cheating on her. She was not stuck in the woods. Aaron & Scott have been trying to find their mate. Neither thought they would find her. But when each one meets Tessa, they knew she was the one but would she be able to accept them both. Or would they have to fight each other to claim her.
I have to say that was a crap day that she had. It was one thing after another. Like a domino effect. But when you meet two shifters you know things have to get better. I love that each brother has a difference in romance and sensuality. I do love that she stands up for herself. There is a bit of conflict with them all but they work through it.
This story teaches you that just because bad things happen there is always something good for you around the corner.
Aaron and Scott are extremely competitive and they are both alpha males. They have felt lost, anxious and unstable. Until they both follow the intoxication scent that will bring them peace.
They know that the only way to make their mate happy is by working together. They will do anything to keep her safe and make her understand that she's the one for them.
I absolutely love the connection and chemistry between them. Once they come together you can see sparks fly. They are perfect for each other. I highly recommend this wonderful story.
Well written story full of bad luck, a lousy ex and 2 hot hero bears
This was such a fun Christmas romance! Poor Tessa has had the worst string of luck and it all culminated in her being all alone, lost in the forest, for Christmas. Well, as it turns out, it wasn't really the worst luck since she met Aaron and Scott. Two devoted and competing bears looking to prove they each would be her perfect mate. Too bad Tessa can't choose just one ;P Yep, the chemistry flows in this one and the story was engaging, making it a one-sit read for me. Good fun!
I enjoyed this shifter read. It was a little different than the typical bear meets fated mate and woos her into happiness. If there is ever a day where everything is going to crap, Tessa has found that day. I so could understand having days like this and life just spinning out of control. Then to have two guys making things better, ya, things are about to get worse before that. Sure this tale spun a little out over the top for a bad day. But that’s why I loved it. It was easy to read and had a fabulous ending.
Poor Tessa. She was having a bad day. Then her boyfriend proved how much of a jerk he was. And she found herself all alone, in the woods, on Christmas. Poor Tessa. Or ... lucky Tessa? If all of these terrible things hadn’t happened she never would have met Aaron and Scott, her bears. I love Celia Kyle’s shifter stories. They are full of action and heat, all the best things. Can’t wait for the next.
3 & 1/2 stars rounded up. A cutesy story, that held my attention. It could have had more to it, as it read like a novella though it was 135 pages. A lot of unanswered questions, as well as unresolved holes in the story. The whole story just seemed a bit far-fetched for me, her joining the survivalist group lessons, the boyfriend situation, and the storm situation. The bad-luck stuff is believable, as I've seen things in my life that were similar to the heroine's. I just didn't get enough from the 3 main characters to form an opinion of whether I liked them, so that makes them a bit flat. I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't want to read it again.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! This was a great book ! Tessa is having a bad day, month, year. Stranded in the woods, she is about to lose it. Guess who comes to the rescue ? Tessa's sexy mates come to her rescue. Loved the characters + the storytelling ! It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I usually adore Celia’s work, but this book felt flat and the story didn’t flow well. Neither Aaron nor Scott had any depth and Tessa was annoying. Her inner monologues and mood swings were irritating and her reckless behaviour marked her as TSTL. Even the author’s trademark sassy humour was missing. A disappointing read.
I really like this book. It was funny and crazy all roll into one. I love how she didn't let cheating i am surviving king get her down. But hey if it was me, every one would have known about him cheating in our tent. But she handled well. That is a diva. You go see you later an fly off. Love it . thank you for the sweet book.
Poor Tessa is absolutely crapped on in every possible aspect of her life, but man does the universe ever make it up to her in the form of two incredibly wonderful bear shifters! This is another awesome book by Celia Kyle, and I highly recommend you read it ASAP. Mature eyes only due to hot🔥 shifter loving!!!
Well written story encompassing heartaches, deception, intrigue, and romance. Slightly different tale of shifters. The characters are charismatic and well developed. Good quick read novella.
A story about a woman that was having a really bad time everything was falling apart in her life she was literally abandoned then she was rescued one once she stopped overthinking things she found happiness
A quick read filled with drama and hotness made this an enjoyable read. When things seem to go wrong for Tessa, she gets the unexpected when she meets Aaron and Scott. What happens next makes for a fast paced paranormal read that didn’t disappoint.
I really enjoyed this book. I love happy endings, it’s nice to read that a bad situation can work out, some may say it’s just in a book but I think it can happen it real life ( although I don’t know about 2 men) but if that’s what they like and want more power to them. But it was a good read.
Not the best from this author. Just didn’t care for Tessa overall. Her attitude left me thinking she was weak. Arron and Scott were okay but I couldn’t get my head around them living as bears for such a long time. Read through KU.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading Tessa, Aaron & Scott's story very much. I love reading a happy ever after story it makes my heart happy. Thank you for writing this story.
I absolutely love Celia Kyle's books, however. Like a total addict.
This one was not my favorite. It was well written. I just felt the characters did not mesh and went from wanting to kill for their mate to agree to both be her mate. It was a little too short maybe and needs to be flushed out a bit more. My sassy heroine was great though. She just needed more time to get on board with everything.
Started with a super sucky day, ended with a really nice closing. This was a super great read on a cold(brrr) day. Awesome story, smooth writing. Exciting and moved quickly.
Tessa's life feel apart it seemed all at once. Escaping with her boyfriend on a survival trip it gets even worse. To hen she meets Scott and Adam Good story enjoyed the book.
Tessa is not having a good week. She's lost her job, her roommate left her holding the bag, her family's out of town and while out camping she just walked in on her boyfriend cheating. What else can go wrong.....or right?
Nice Christmas read. Imprinting on two bears during a blizzard is a nice story. Reclusive Bear shifters off separately to find their mates was a nice twist.
