An Innocent Christmas

A good slow burner romance. Loved the "I thought we were enemies, dead to each other vibe. But the butterfly's in my stomach tell me that it's so far from the truth". It was a romantic small adventure romance. The characters are well fleshed out and the plot was good. I hope there's a second one to continue the saga... well to finish out what I feel could of been a longer story.
Pike is a child/adult with issues. But his made up family the Adam's loves him to bits. When he gets older he realizes he needed more in life and made the biggest decision of his life. Besides doing something that he regrets also in the process. Can he win the girl, who stole his heart?
Billie is a good, but a sassy girl from a good family. And has a major crush on the bad boy of the town. When she thinks that everything will turn out perfect. She's in for a world of heartache and fights. Will she ever forgive the boy who broke her heart?

This was a good read. Pike is Billie's best friends sister. They sleep together but he ends up leaving for the military. Now he's back and of course feelings haven't changed. Now they are given a second chance and this time they get their happy ending.

Billie has had a crush on her brother Morgan's best friend Pike since she was 14 years old. Pike was the town bad boy but deep down was a good guy. He had been in a relationship with a girl and they had broken up so on the night of the yearly Christmas party Billie sets out to make sure Pike notices her and she is determined to have him take her virginity. Pike notices her and finally gives in to her wishes but he soon realizes he feels he has made a mistake because of his best friend Morgan. Pike truly cares for Billie but is not sure of what he wants out of life so he enlist in the service and leaves without telling anyone goodbye. He does write a letter to Billie confessing his feelings for her and that he would love to see where their relationship goes but thanks to her brother Morgan, Billie never receives the letter. Four years later Pike is out of the service and decides to return home not knowing if he and Billie will have a future or not. Billie is mad she thinks Pike left and wanted nothing to do with her and that she was just another conquest for him. When Billie and Pike finally cross paths of course the chemistry is still there but with all the miscommunication will they stand a chance?
I loved this slow burn brothers best friend second chance romance, and Katy did an awesome job with the storyline, it pulled me in from the very beginning. Billie and Pike's chemistry was electric and yet so sweet. Pike is so sweet, caring and loving who wouldn't want him as a boyfriend. Billie is a woman who knows what she wants and goes for it. I loved the way Pike fought for their relationship and stood up for Billie. Morgan, even though he came across as a jerk brought so much to the story. I hope there is a second book with Morgan & Michelle's story and hopefully it will include a little more of Pike and Billie's story hopefully letting us know the sex of their baby.
An Innocent Christmas is a must read and well deserving of 5 plus stars.

Billie has liked her brother's best friend for awhile now and when she turns eighteen she decides to make her move. Pike tries to stop things from happening between them but once he realizes he has wanted her too he gives in. However he starts to regret it afterwards because of how young Billie is. He ends up enlisting in the military but before he goes he writes a note to Billie. When Billie gets home her brother is waiting for her and he knows about her and Pike. This makes things difficult between them. Now years later Pike is coming back and he is going to face his best friend and Billie because he has never forgotten her. What he doesn't know is that her brother interfered between him and Billie. Will Billie give Pike a second chance? Will her brother ruin any chance they have together?

This is a great holiday story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Too Crude for Me

For a book with a title like An Innocent Christmas, there is nothing innocent whatsoever about this novel! I usually avoid books at my favorite book review sites that don't have a description—this one only said TBC, which I am not even sure what that means—but I have been just shredding through Christmas romances (as I adore them) and thought this was simply a straightforward Christmas romance. I couldn't have been more wrong, unfortunately. If only the author had included the description of it on the book review website. So, I got something I was not prepared for and did not like. I am not a fan of profanity or other crude language in novels (or in life), and in this book, both the hero and heroine swore quite a lot, including F-bombs. I didn't like the heroine right away because of her single-minded intent regarding the hero, if one can call him that. If you like crude and racy stories, this might be the one for you, but it did not work for me.

Second chance at a Christmas wish

An Innocent Christmas is actually a story that is a triple holiday romance story starting at Halloween, then rounding into Thanksgiving before sliding deeply into Christmas. It also have a number of romance tropes, best friend's sister/brother's best friend, lost love, friends to lovers and of course second chance.
Billie is Morgan's younger sister and Pike is Morgan's best friend. One night Billie and Pike get really close but then he leaves to join the service and try to figure out his life. Billie thinks he just up and left her as he never said anything about leaving. What she does not know is that Pike actually left Billie a letter explaining things only Morgan took it so Billie would not get it.
It is now four years later and Pike is back. He also wants Billie back and he will not stop until he does. Their chemistry is still there in spades but so is all the drama that comes with it, between everyone.
This is a really nicely written story that is perfect for the holiday season.

This story is about Pike and Billie. Pike is Billies brother's best friend and after they did what he never expected to do with his BFF's little sister, he left to figure out life which was to join the military. Before leaving he left Billie a letter explaining what he was going to do and gave her an address to write to him if she choose to, well she never did, because Morgan, Billie's older brother, got the letter before she did and made sure that she never saw it. Years go by and now Pike is back in town and went to Morgan's house to see him but also pick up his car and to his surprise, he is not there but his car is untouched. Well the story starts from there as Billie sees him, but he acts indifferent to her because he figured she did not want anything but that one night. Morgan is not too happy with his little sister and his "ex" best friend until the end comes along. It has a happy ending with a special surprise. You have to pick this book up as it is a great read.

Billie has always had a thing for Pike. She's been good at keeping her feelings to herself and staying out of the way. Pike is her brothers best friend so she knows nothing could ever happen between them. When Billie finally gives in and has the courage, she makes her move. Of course Pike is hesitant. He knows his bestfriend would likely kill him if he ever made a move on his little sister but Billie is relentless. When they finally give in to each other Billie thinks things will be different and they can be together. She's heartbroken when she awakens the next morning and is met with some unexpected news. Billie tries to move on and forget about Pike but that one night has changed everything. When Billie and Pike see each other again will hidden secrets be revealed? Really great read, definitely recommend!

I wasn't sure in the characters at first. I mean, Pike? Just no. And Billie for a girl? So I was pleasantly surprised that despite the girl being an immature little thing at first I liked this book. It was a perfect mix of realistic people and a mystical Christmas miracle. I am not sure that the situation was realistically resolved but it was a nice touch. Again Christmas miracle. I wouldn't have forgiven Morgan THAT easily. And we didn't always get details of things I think would have made a clearer picture,for example where the brother living exactly or Pike coming home for the military and fighting without any mental damage? Really? , but this book wasn't about it. This book was good to read especially this close to Christmas. It gave me a good feeling and left a smile on my face. Nothing else I could ask more

Hmmmm

I did not enjoy the book. I thought it was kind of silly and very juvenile. It could be me, and it probably is but it just didn't click. Or....I am not The reader base the author was writing for.

This was so not hot.
--I have yet to hear a woman who has had sex 2 times say the things Billie said. She sounded like a bad porn star with a 15 year old mentality. No matter how hard the author tried, there was no chemistry. I fast read (skimmed) through the book.
--Coming home after being in the military and Pike goes to the country club with an ex girlfriend and acting like a 16 year old? That is how he is going to build a customer base by acting like the village idiot? Who would take their vehicle to someone who does not take his reputation seriously? --The only adult conversation was when Morgan apologized.

We don't really know someone or what they are going through, the best we can do is be understanding and listen. The sweet second chance story is strained as it is filled with misunderstandings and hurt of not knowing the whole truth.

Pike is known for being the town's bad boy, his only true friend only knows the surface. At the annual Christmas kegger, he finds himself with his best friend's sister, then dissapeared unknown to why to his friends.

Billie, lost to why Pike is gone, is confronted by her brother about their involvement, he is so angry that it causes strain on their relationship.

Once back together, Billie and Pike's passionate has an intensity of a 4 alarm fire as they navigate the path to find their way back to each other.

Shockingly, he left town shortly after taking her virginity, leaving her to believe she was nothing more than a fling. Not only did it leave her with a broken heart, but it also ruined her relationship with her brother after he found out. Now 4 years later Pike is back and tho they have tried, they can not fight their attraction to each other. Will they finally give in and find their happily ever after? Can they finally repair the broken relationship with her brother?

Our hero left for the military to figure life out after having a fling with his best friend's sister. He explained what he was doing in a letter, but the brother intercepted it and hid it. Queue dramatic music.

This is a second chance romance story. The story is well written and easy to read, with a cast of wonderful characters. I really liked both our hero and heroine and can understand their challenges brought on by the well-meaning but misguided brother. Our couple has some definite challenges to face, but they are both more mature now and rest assured they will get their HEA. But the story is about the journey and it was well worth the read. Highly enjoyable.

Highly recommended.

Beautiful love story with lots of drama.
I loved this book & couldn't put it down desperately hoping that Pike & Billie would get their happy ever after. She had fancied him from being a child & being that he was her brother Morgan's best friend he spent a lot of time at their house. When Morgan opened the letter Pike had sent to Billie when his left without telling anybody & found out about them he hated him & made sure Billie did by letting her think for 4yrs that Pike didn't want her which was far from the truth. I'm glad that but by bit Pike wore her down until she admitted that she still had feelings for him & it made me smile. Definately a great book to read.

This is a bit different for a holiday story. The prologue takes place 4 years earlier, and the story itself starts around Halloween. I really like that it spans Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas as a holiday story. This is just a great story. It's a 2nd chance, best friend's little sister, and holiday story all in one. Pike and Billie each have their flaws, and have some obstacles to overcome to before the can be together. These characters are complex and very well written. I'd love to see some the secondary characters get their own stories as well! I'm looking forward to reading more by this author!

This is a brother's best friend romance which I still don't understand why his sister has to be off limit (if his best friend isn't a playboy or has some bad issue.) And this book is not an exception. But I think Billie's brother is one of the worst villian I've ever read. He is so selfish and unreasonable. I also don't like Billie's attitude toward Pike after he comes back but her behavior is understandable. And Pike, he is a dream come true for Billie. The reason I give this book 4.5 stars is because even I enjoy reading, it is still predictable and the plot also has nothing new though.

Billie has known Pike for years. They hook up one night. Pike is a lost soul that he ends up joining the service to find himself. Billie thought he up and left her but he wrote a letter letting her know his reasons for leaving but Billie never gets tre letter because her brother Morgan took it. He didn't want them together even though here was something there. Four years pass & Pike comes back wanting to be back in her life and show her she is trying love he lost. They rekindle their love that was lost all those years ago.

Billie had wanted Pike for years, but he was 4 years older and her brother's best friend. When she turned 18, she decided to go after what she wanted. Was this the best or worse decision of her life? Pike wasn't sure what he wanted in life, so after being with Billie, he decides to join the Army without a word to anyone to try to figure this out. Four years is a lot of time to mature and come to decisions that will determine the rest of your life. This is true for both Billie and Pike. Loved the way this story reveals itself, it will have you cheering and crying throughout the book. Great read!

Terrific Holiday, Brother's Best Friend Romance

Billie and Pike shared one very hot encounter before Pike told her it was wrong and they couldn't be together and then disappeared, breaking her heart. Four years later Pike is back and Billie is angry but he doesn't understand why, after all it was she that decided they couldn't be together, right? What neither of them know is that the letter Pike sent her apologizing and asking for a chance to be together after his deployment (yes, that's where he went) was never received...at least, not by Billie.

This is the third book in The Holiday Heat series, it is a standalone story and there are no cliffhangers. This story is well-written with a interesting fast-paced storyline, it's filled with plenty of drama and emotion. Billie has crushed on her older brothers best friend, Pike since she first noticed boys, the story starts when she was 18 and decided to seduce the love of her love and then he ghosts her. Now, Pike is back home and their chemistry is still sizzling and it's going nowhere. Can this couple have a HEA after all the drama keeping them apart? I really enjoyed this story, a delightful holiday romance.

Billie and Pike were unbelievably well written characters. Katy Kaylee pulls the readers in with the tale of a young girl losing her innocence on Christmas Eve to her brother's best friend. Sadly for her, he decides to enroll in the military versus staying and building a life with her. Four years later and he is back. Will they be able to fix what once was broken? Or are the destined to be apart for good? It was a phenomenal book and I will definitely be going back to read the other "Innocent" books by Katy.

This is book three in the Holiday Heat series. Billie is attracted to her brother's best friend, Pike. In a moment of determination, weakness or fate, these two characters get together for one night. I always love reading this author's work, each book contains a good story with characters that are as exciting to get to know as they are hot and steamy. Enjoy!

When one thing leads to another, there is going to be big problems between an unexpected pregnancy and Morgan wanting to stand in between Pike and Billie's future.

This is a loving story about Billie and Pike . Billie has always had chemistry with her older brother best friend and know that she has turned 18 she figures she might as go for what she wants on Christmas eve. Pike is so confused with his fellings that he decide d to leave for the military, he writes Billie a letter excepting she gets it ,but her brother finds and doesn't tell her . Pike return after a few years in military to get his car and see Billie and acts different around her because he believes all she wanted from was that one night . This story is a true love story that comes with some surprise and a happy ending.

I enjoyed this story. Initially it took me a bit to get into it, and I'm not sure why. I do know that I was getting irritated with Pike, Billie and Morgan and wanted to smack them all upside the head. Pike is Morgan's best friend. Billie is Morgan's little sister. Pike leaves after a night with Billie, only to return 4 years later. Pike and Billie are like a match to kindling, they are very hot to trot around each other. Loved the happy ever after.

This is a slow burn story with Billie and Pike being very frustrating at times. There's a lot of family dynamics that play into the story. You can't deny Pike and Billie have this undeniable pull between them that it's hard to fight. They are explosive and it was only a matter of time before their passion exploded. It was fun reading it and having them finally come to terms with their relationship and get their second chance.
