I was hoping for more of a conclusion to the main story, though Doctor Strange was fun. And the conclusion to the Madripoor Gids was excellent.

This issue started by telling us of the "The brave and spirited Sword Master." Oh great, now they do this shitty promotion thing that they do in Aero here as well. My advice to any writer: Don't do such shit. Don't claim something about a character, don't tell things. SHOW what you want to claim. You see, so far Lin Lie might be no coward, but I would not call him brave and spirited either. Or maybe they have a low level for calling something brave.
Of course, when I when I was reading what Lin Lie stated here, I was only thinking: "Oh Lin Lie... Chiyou is far from the greates evil ever to walk the earth in the Marvel universe."
Of course here it was clear that Dr. Strange was literally just a guest appearance and so was Mordo and now we are at the Li girl again, right where we started. Shuizhun is a better writer than Pak so far, but not that much better. I think this is the last time I will read him.

And that he is better than Pak was proven by Pak himself. You see, this Ismenios dragon is connected to Cadmus in actual mythology, not the golden fleece. And this goddess of Madripoor called Navi Dakar says that the "Asian gods have been around" since before Zeus spoiled his first diaper? Ok, ignoring the fact that there are tons of "Asian gods" way younger than Zeus, Zeus is not even the oldest greek god, as anyone halfway knowledgeable about ancient greek mythology woild know. So this is just Pak again showing his hint of racism and asian supremacism. But not surprising for an idiotic pan-Asianist like Pak. Which is funny, because by stating shit like this, he is just repeating the stereotype of the Ancient and homogenous Asia. And that goddess literally says that the dragon "lived up to the stereotype of a greedy western dragon"... that is plain racist now. Not surprising. That is Pak as his most Asian supremacist. No Asian god apparently can do anything wrong here and it actually uses the stereotype of the ancient and wise Asia, so much better than the western barbarians. Maybe the guy should actually read more than stereotypes."
And it's prettty clear, that the the two "westerners" here are all for war and the three "Asians" are against it and so much wiser. As if Chiyou is not portrayed as way worse than Ares in the prior sory. And don't get me started on some other "Asian" gods. Prior Marvel writers could portray "Asian" gods as much more nuanced and not so supremacist as this guy does. So no idea what is going on at Marvel these days.
And the biggest idiocy of them all was at the end. You see: Ares, the dragon, Lin Lie and Shang-Chi all new what was up with Atlantis and yet that was not mentioned until the 2nd issue of Atlantis Attacks (7 issues into the respective storyline), so either Pak is such a bad writer or so focussed on Amadeus Cho that he did not include these four into Atlantis Attacks so far or have the two mortals at least tell their teammates right from the start. But then again, he can't write teams anyway.
I was so happy that this Sword Master, Shang-Chi shit was over. That meant I could finally lay this series to rest. And I haven't looked back ever since.
