Whoa..An exciting second book in the 'Crime After Crime' series by two authors with intense imaginations!! Weaves the first book in nicely with an eerie scene...Natalie Anders has started a new life, leaving her past behind. She keeps to herself, as she regrets so much of the past, until she meets a man who starts to charm her. He seems so nice, and when accidents happen he is quick to offer her a place to stay, even when she feels things are going too fast he convinces her to stop worrying!
After she is staying with him, small things start to change, and Natalie starts to feel strange about several things he does...When she finds an old book behind the binding of a wall she starts to read...WHO IS THIS PERSON SHE IS STAYING WITH!!?
The Book Is By Psychologist Amy Penrose....
A Thrilling Story You Will NOT Be able to Put Down...And Even When You Do,It Will Stay With You...

Natalie Anders has a new boyfriend ... Kyle Detcher. He's good-looking, has money, and he wants to take care of Nat. She's a little concerned because he seems to be moving pretty fast considering they've only been on a couple of dates.

When tragedy strikes a couple living in her apartment building, she is convinced by Kyle to stay with him until things quiet down. And then he texts her boss and says she quits. He locks her in his house when he has to leave. There is no house phone and he has taken her phone charger away, in essence, isolating her from family and friends.

She doesn't know what to make of all this ... he is certainly not who he claims to be.

But then .... she also has a deep dark secret.

Suspenseful from the very first, this is a well written psychological thriller that will keep you glued to the riveting story. Although second in the series, this is easily read as a stand-alone. There are references to the first book, which I highly recommend reading first just to get the background which enriches this book.

Many thanks to the authors / Special ARC group (FB) for the digital copy of this intense thriller. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Down to Sleep is the second book in the Crime After Crime series and you must read these in order. It is technically a standalone, but you will get so much more out of it if you read book 1 first. Although when I started the second book I was a little confused – what was the connection? But you just need to be patient.

This was a psychological gem, has you in suspense from the start holds you to the end. Well written and woven together by 2 masters of their craft.

Can’t say too much more without spoilers. Onto book 3, can’t wait

This is the second book in the Crime After Crime series but even though you will want to read the first book after this one, you don’t actually have to have read it before reading Down To Sleep.

Natalie is a woman who has to live with demons from an event that happened in her past. We get to learn very early on what that demon is, which if anything, endeared her character to me more. She is drifting through life until she bumps into Kyle who on first appearances, looks like he is going to improve her life for the better.

I really felt like Natalie had landed on her feet when she meets Kyle. There is an obvious chemistry between them both which was quite warming to start with and how he takes it upon himself to be protector and look after her. Sadly it doesn’t last long.

This is one of those stories that to a certain extent you know which direction it is going to go into when we start to see Kyle’s darker side. In my head I was shouting and urging Natalie to get as far away as possible but as in real life, these things arn’t always as straight forward and goes to show how manipulative some people can be.

Down To Sleep was a compulsive story that wouldn’t let me go. I started and finished it in the same day as the story line had me hooked and the authors didn’t disappoint in messing with my head. This is a great read with a deliciously dark character that makes it even more sinister.

My thanks to the authors for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

Another amazing installment by M. A. Comley and M. K. Farrar.

Natalie Anders knows how it feels to be afraid. She felt that way when her parents abandoned her, but Glenn and Cynthia Anders adopted her, offering love and security. A love and security that didn't last as her new brother, Anthony, was determined to make her miserable. He liked inflicting pain and as the two grew older he grew worse until....

Years have gone by since that tragic day, but Natalie still suffers the guilt for the pain her adoptive parents suffered. She also suffers from a lack of self-esteem, believing herself to be ugly and unwanted. Her dates are drunken one night stands, her job going nowhere, and her life miserable and alone. Until....

Kyle is handsome, smells like a dream and interested in HER. How could that be? He's also very well off and lives in a world that Natalie fears she cannot fit into, but she so desperately wants to. Questions plague her as she slowly grows more fond of this charming, handsome stranger who seems to care only about her welfare, protecting her and keeping her safe.

Is Kyle the answer to all her dreams or will he become her worst nightmare?

A definite five star read and highly recommended to those who love psychological thrillers.

Natalie has to live with a dark past and spends most of her life alone - until she meets Kyle. She falls for Kyle and a series of events means that they are soon living together.
Natalie starts to realise she has made a big mistake. Can she escape? Is there anyone who can help her?
Wow! This book was extremely tense and powerful. Great characters and excellent writing. I highly recommend this book.

This is book two in the Crime After Crime series. Meet Natalie, the woman has a past she wants to move forward from and just live out a quiet, peaceful life. She keeps to herself and appears to be on track for that dream to come true until she crosses paths with Kyle. Kyle appears to be the perfect man to Natalie and she goes all in. This story was captivating as what at first appears to be a happy ever after begins to turn and fall apart. Kyle is a wolf in sheeps clothing but so is Natalie. Enjoy!

This book was definitely not what I expected. It deals with some darker topics that I truly thought were handled brilliantly.

The characters were all flawed but had great links to the past as well as trying to push to the future

Natalie was very inspiring in some ways as she has come out of bad situations but still makes the time to be the kind of person you want as a friend or family.

This book was great and I look forward to reading more and hopefully finding out more backstory as well.

This is the second in the Crime after Crime series but could be read as a stand-alone. It is a compelling book which grabbed me from the very first page.

Natalie Anders has been brought up by her adoring adoptive parents but has a dark secret which has made her life difficult. She was lacking in confidence and I felt sad for her character. She literally bumps into Kyle Detcher at the supermarket and, to her surprise and delight, he asks her out. In a very short time he becomes a big part of her life and, for once, Natalie starts to feel happiness.

Who is Kyle and how does he appear to know things about Natalie??? This is a rollercoaster of a book and I couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend.

Down to Sleep - This is my first read by this author and I was disappointed. The beginning was slow with plenty of redundancies about Natalie's mental state. Got it, she was abused and has the classic symptoms of a victim of abuse. I could not get into the storylines and while she has good parents and young neighbors, I did not care about her and the other characters.

The confrontation at and her journey to her parents' home was unrealistic. The sicko wants her mom to call her when there is no charged phone and he is waiting for her to arrive at the home of her parents after he knocked her out and imprisoned her in the bathroom? Sorry just Hollywood scripting, not well thought out plotting. I found this book on Booksprout. 3*

This is a brilliantly written book by 2 great authors , the second in the series. I couldn’t put this book down and devoured it page after page.

Being used to fending for herself from an early age Natalie finds herself quite smitten with Kyle Detcher whom she meets by chance in the supermarket car park. They get to know one another but all is not what it seems. A story of intrigue deceit & horror. Read this book to find out !!!

Decent read but not as good as previous books.

The pacing in this novel starts out at max speed. So much so,in fact, the villain is revealed in a little more than half way through. For me this resulted in the last half of the book being formulaic and anti-climatic.
The premise of the novel is good and could have easily been a 5 star book. I felt the author was rushing to get it over with.

OH MY!! OH MY!

Nope! No other words come to mind as I finished this second book in the series. I have to say when I first started reading book 2 I had no idea what the connection was to book 1 but with a little patience it came to light in a big way. A real psychological gem. So glad book 3 has already been released so I can keep the momentum going. Genuinely hold your breath read.

This is book two in the Crime After Crime series and it's a twisted ride that had me reading nonstop. If you read book one then you know what to expect from this author duo. Natalie decides to start a new life and leave her past behind but things go from bad to worse. The writing is well done, the characters are intriguing and the story captivating. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Audiobook review

Wow the 1st was good, this 1 just got better!
A quiet peaceful woman falls for a seemingly lovely guy, yes he was moving a bit fast, but when it’s right then you know it’s right, don’t you!
What a fab thrilling story!
Narrator was great too, enjoyed her pace of keeping story going.

The joining of these two authors has produced a series of stories giving a peek into the killing mindset. It’s quite surprising to find such joy and entertainment from the hours of listening to these brilliantly twisty tales of how and what the killer mindset might be. Hooray for the team of MK Farrar and MA Comley; I hope they team up again.

Full mark's for entertainment. Really enjoyed this book. I know it's a psychological thriller but it's not too heavy. I found some events a little far fetched but it did not interfere with the menacing story that it turned out to be. Love delving into a book by both the authors, never long reads but always good.

Natalie a life of not being wanted, adoptive parents did not do or see what their son was doing to her.
Unwanted, unloved, no self asteem, going from job to job. Meeting Kyle, he is smooth nicely dressed, finding a monster underneath. Love turned into a nightmare, will she survive, or feels she desires this
Good series, the plot flows and draws you in.

Not as good as the first one of the series, but still entertaining. Will definitely read the third and last one, too.

I just really didn't like how naive the protagonist is in this second book. A bit annoying and too farfetched. Why would I move in with someone so patronizing and mean?!

Another excellent and exciting tale from these masters of suspense. A disturbing

ending. And a good follow on from a previous story. Can't help wondering how much is fiction and how much is experience and research.

Have Your Nerve Pills Handy

This book was the most suspenseful I've read in quite a while - enough to increase your pulse and breathing rate. People like Kyle DO exist, unfortunately, and this book definitely tells you why you should protect yourself and your privacy.
