In the beginning, an Incubus was merely a low-ranking demon who fed on the sexual terror he could inflict upon a human being. But that was before one of them got the idea to turn a human with nothing to lose into the perfect demon feeder.
Kendrick was a mere stable boy when the Lil-demon Bakzel watched him get raped by the Lord of the manor. Recognizing potential, Bakzel made the stable boy an offer to gain the power necessary to take revenge in return for Kendrick gathering energy for himself and his conspiring Lil-demons. For four hundred years, Kendrick has, as a demon endowed incubus, worked on securing his demon Master energy to rise. Recognizing that he will soon succeed, the stable boy begins to think about the future. But the latest victim collected to feed the incubus’ urges was missed more than expected.
*Please note that Harvest of Lil is in the genre Horror as it contains the effects of demonic manipulation, and as a result, content in these works may contain graphic scenes of depravity, cruelty, and violence—sexual or otherwise—that could be offensive and potentially triggering to some readers.
Meraki P. Dark is, as the last name suggests, the dark side of Meraki P. Lyhne.
Where Meraki P. Lyhne will play with anything from fluffy slow-burns with HEA and go to the border of dub-con, letting his characters deliver a striped ass, Meraki P. Dark will explore the depraved minds during non-con, and he’ll play with whatever fetish catches his attention.
It is the human psyche and its abilities to stretch or break that will be explored to its fullest. There will always be a plot—no one is tortured unless the character finds a good reason for it within the plot. There is room for love and tender moments, too, but they have to work hard for it!
If you can handle dark, I would so recommend this series! Start with the first book, The Endowment The Endowment. This series has a very interesting and sadistic take on incubi and demon-worship.
I feel this book is the weakest volume in the series so far. I've noticed little spelling errors here and there (e.g. 'looser' instead of 'loser'; and no this ain't about the bootyhole.) The biggest issue I had was how long and terribly detailed some of the r*pe scenes were, so I felt like I was stuck in this uncomfortable mix of being horrified and being bored... I think I would have enjoyed this book a lot more if it wasn't as long.
Despite my slight disappointment, I am definitely going to read the next book in this series!
Holy Mother of Darkness! This is the kind of story I want to read 24/7! Got all the yummy darkness, and I mean real dark scenes where you can find identical twins doing things with each other while the third brother is there to watch it. Where you can find a scene in where a man is raped to death. And where you can find love in between all those darkness. Where the incubus becomes man again and craves human contact. Where the human falls in love with his master and cares for his special mutt and loves his underlings too.
I just love this series with all of my being. But this book was too short! I wanted to read it more! So so good. The storyline is awesome, the characters are amazing, and the darkness is the cherry on top. I thought there is a limit where nothing can surprise me and hard to find some new things to obsess over, but this series just prove me wrong every time. So please keep on surprising me with all those darkness! LOVE it♥
My favorite scene was when Mason/Bakzel/Special Mutt went into the room and the fun began. Mmmmm, so yummy♥
Darkness mingling with bits of humour and a twisted kind of sweetness is what I expected from the book and it is what I got. It's not for anyone sensitive in any sense or form, it's deprived and disturbing, soothing my need for this kind of story.
It follows the story of the previous books only it's jumped closer to present time and with it the advantages and disadvantages of modern times, such as technology and CCTV, less hunting in open fields and more in the darkness of internet. And while managing the difficulties, Kendrick fills his kennels and finds his special mutt for the cycle.
What I always like about this series is while it challenges the reader with the things happening, there is still humanity that shines through, with Kendrick's care for his underlings and the few he needs to soothe his human side. And with the demons reaching their peak, the future is going to be interesting. Things didn't end as I expected and it's making me excited for the next.
Wow, I was not expecting that. Some of the darkness in this book became a special brand of dark. In my opinion it was justified, but it was still a little more difficult to read for me for a very particular topic. I'm not giving away spoilers though, so you'll have to read for yourself and find out.
It was still a good read and I'm going to keep going since I want to see how things develop with the apprentice and what happens at the end of the cycle. I am liking how the plot continues to develop.
This series is amazing! I know it's horror. I know the things described here can be too much. But I also know that these characters have a way to get into your skin. I can't wait for the next book. The balance been the human and demonic aspects of the characters are so well balanced that the lines between right and wrong become blurry. To really enjoy and understand them, they are better read in order. Do not ignore the warnings, they are there for a reason!
