The Dragon Lord Battle and the Carriage Lines chapter were really lackluster. Azusa started to get a bit annoying in this volume (especially the pyramid one), so I'll probably take a break from this series here. The Rosalie parts were really cute though (one peeve: she's already teared up in a previous book... Azusa should know by now that ghosts can shed tears. And yes, we know, they're not corporeal; the floor will not get wet). And Flatorte is great as ever. The Beelzebub sidestory was nice as usual. I liked the first one better than the second.

And look, what's happening with the fashion in Thursa Thursa... we have a minister dressed as a modern maid but crop top, but we also have the whole Not-Egyptian shenanigans going on (A faric that wraps only the breasts? I came here to rest my brain not Mash it up)... Well, they also have computers, I guess... Yeah, let me shut down my brain again. It shouldn't be turned on for this book. I love Benio's illustrations though, don't get me wrong, but did they scramble my brain? Yes.

Anyway what was happening in this volume? Perhaps my mind is scrambled or something, but there were some sentences I didn't get. And this is Killing Slimes, not something like the Fall of the Roman Empire or whatever...

I mean, what does this even mean:
"Well, I am the demon king..."
Yeah, she's right. If I searched for demon on a computer in Japan, I would get pictures of cute little demon girls. Really, it made more sense for a cute girl, rather than a repulsive monster, to prank people.

Or this???? Yea girl we get it, you're 17, StraightTM and have a boob size complex. No, seriously, what was the point:
"Humans are among the creatures unable to detect its presence."
"Hey, don't call people creatures."
That was terrible. I am eternally seventeen, by the way.

If this sounds negative it's just because it feels worse than the previous volumes by a fair bit. It's not a Political Intrigue filled Genius Fest, I know, but compared to the other volumes it's a bit of a letdown. I'll take a break from the series here, but will probably get back to it eventually.

I've enjoyed the adventures of Asuza up until now. I felt there was a slight drop-off in quality in the previous volume but I still found it entertaining.
This one? Not so much.
Too often, the author relies on adding new cute characters to move the story along. For me, it's getting stale.
Another thing I've noticed - and perhaps I just never noticed it before - but Asuza is kind of a butthead. I know her mental and verbal retorts are supposed to be funny, but the constant barrage of "You can just..." and "You're being way too..." are sometimes rude and at other times downright mean.
You may think I'm just an old fuddy-duddy that doesn't understand slice-of-life stories. And while I am an old fuddy-duddy, I think I've read plenty of slice-of-life stories to know the good ones.
This isn't one.
I hope the author can get back to Asuza having some adventures where she has to solve problems. Even if she is OP. And I wish he would drop some of the characters - like the ghost and the blue dragon and the plant. It just makes the writing too cumbersome. Often I forget who's even in a particular scene and when I think about it, most of them are standing around in the background like mannequins.
And the last Beezlebub story is a total fan service job.
Unless you're a completionist, I've give this one a skip and hope the next is better.

Another great slice of life adventure with the Witch of the Highlands. Love the newly added characters in this one. I also love the spinoff series at the end of the book for the third time.

Thought this one was interesting, had an unexpected meta commentary on godhood and ancient civilization and immortality.... Oddly enough.
