Nine chilling tales of the supernatural features stories by some of the best writers for young people, among them Jan Mark, Vivien Alcock, and Peter Dickinson
Read as a child and could never forget this book, specifically Peter Dickinson's "The Spring". It's a chilling concept, one that sadly resonates with me still. Perhaps it's not the interpretation he meant, but I imagine that little depressed, loner (possibly suicidal) children felt a little less alone after reading that one. I know I did.
