Jelly has come to terms with two facts: one, having friends is hard. And two, trying to save Erafore with them? Maybe a little bit harder to pull off. Ever since he entered the Aether, things have changed for him. As a Chosen One, it is his duty to save his world from the cruel caress of the Void. And part of that duty is to fight alongside his fellow Chosen Ones. But can Jelly really handle the other two individuals the goddess Nia has selected to save Erafore? He will need every ounce of cunning and strength he can scrounge up, though, because the forces of the Void will not tolerate this gathering of Chosen Ones, and will slay them if at all possible. His companions are Dora, a half-orc Healer who carries guilt and resentment about her life back home, and Gaelin, a nice guy wearing cursed armor, and who has a worrying hatred for birds. Can the three of them survive each other?
I hate trying to write reviews because there are really only pass/fail results for me. Did I make it all the way through? Yes? 5 stars. No? There would be nothing here to read. In all fairness, if an author holds my attention from page one to the end, they’ve done their job. Anything less than 5 stars is petty criticism from someone incapable of even doing the job let alone doing a better one.
So in respect for the author and their work, I am going to start pasting this along with a generic review I found somewhere. “This was a fun book. I am glad that I read it. You should try it too.”
I have been really enjoying this series and greatly enjoyed this book. Based on this book having been released two years ago at this point in time and there being no books after this one, I was expecting this to be the final book in the series. Unfortunately, this books ends without the series or story coming to an end. That means that anyone who was under the same impression as me and thinks that they can read through the whole series will unfortunately find out that they are wrong. Finishing this book will leave you hanging and wondering if the author gave up on the series. I recommend this series, but people going into it should know that the series never came to a conclusion.
Very hard to enjoy if you haven’t read the author’s other books
Before this, I didn’t realize the author was writing other books in this shared universe. Adding the other main characters to the story was disorienting. The three characters together made the story feel like it was too jokey and silly despite the viciousness of their fights. I’m used to the series having feel good moments between very tense conflicts, but this time it felt like the jokes and character backstory dumps were all on the contrived or corny side.
Yet again another amazing addition to this wonderful series! I truly love this author’s style. The characters are so wonderful to read and imagine. I hope the next volume and the next audiobook come out soon, but not before they are ready. I would suggest that the author do some proofreading due to the fact I’ve found several errors throughout the book. Otherwise great job!
I read it too quickly. The three chosen finally come together in this book of awesomeness! Truly hilarious and I couldn’t put it down which is why I read it too quickly.
Ugh, I'm so tired of training. This is why the training montage was invented. I struggled through this book in the hopes that they'll return to their planet after this, but they still haven't finished their training! Bleh...
This story brings three series heroes together and starts the beginning of the end of these stories. Still missing three Chosen ones, so I don’t know what is next. Great Reading.
