The Crown of Myth is the first book in The Fae Queens series, a Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy series that's a cross between a Fae Romance and dark fairy tale.
Since young, Mira loves fantasy romance with strong female protagonists and perilous adventures to magical realms and parallel universes to visit dragons, witches, shifters, and fairy tale creatures, bringing heroes and heroines together and aiding their epic fantasy battles against dark enemies so they can have the happily-ever-afters they deserve. When she grew up, she takes a liking to young adult stories, which explains her passion writing in the young adult fantasy romance genre. Her books are clean romance with character development as the prime focus. Even now, she still journeys to fantasy realms whenever she's not writing.

The opening of the story concerned me a little as the protagonist, Myth, seemed a little annoying. However, as the story progressed she developed in leaps and bounds and became a more rounded character.
The story line was predictable for the most part, with one or two well executed twists to keep it interesting... and honestly is predictability really all that bad? Sometimes it's nice to not be blindsided every 5 minutes.
This story is a rollercoaster! There's hope, betrayal, love, and a cliffhanger! It moves at a faster pace than I would have liked, but I was totally on the edge of my seat, needing to know what happens next! While the story is enjoyable, the narration sold it for me.
I was really disheartened when I started reading because it seemed juvenile and something for younger tastes. The start was so quick; Myth and Vesper kissed in the second chapter and were intimate in the fifth! And the whole 'my-ex-best-friend-is-tormenting-me-at-high-school' storyline... Not my favourite. At all. Its the kind of plot that makes the line "Sophia was like a totally different person" and "there's no way a guy like him could ever love a girl like me" be read in an mocking high-pitched voice.
There were way too many clichés as well. I can't recall one part of this book NOT being a cliché. I had hoped it was getting better towards the end when things got slightly more interesting in the plot, but the whole 'this isn't you! Come back! I love you' speech made my thoughts come back full circle.
The only reason considering reading the next instalment is because I hate leaving something unfinished. But I'm unsure if I actually will follow through with that.
Myth is a normal girl dealing with bullies at school. When she wishes on a star and a magical fey lord appears, Myth cannot believe her eyes. The fae tells her she is a princess and that Prince Vesper is waiting for her in Yearning, his kingdom. Myth is transported out of her own world to one where her dreams come true. She IS a faerie princess. She IS the prophesied one. She IS the love of Prince Vesper's life. However, once she re-enters her own world, something about Yearning seems off. When Prince Vesper captures Myth's bullies and sets them up as true targets, Myth begins to realize that something might be wrong.
If you're looking for a light, YA romance where dreams come true, but reality may not be all it seems, this is the story for you. Beware: this is PART ONE, so cliffhangers are inevitable.
Audio book review Book 1 in the story. It’s a YA story full of action. The author will keep you entertained right till the end . This story will put you through a roller coaster , not knowing what you will listen to first , hope , treachery, wishful thinking.
Heroine is Myth. Hero is Prince Vesper. Myth didn’t know she had the power to rule . One day she becomes queen of the land . Both Myth and Prince Vesper have feelings for each other , but they are separated. Grab it and see if the Ming and Queen find each other. Matt performance was good . First time I heard him. His voice was clear and strong.
This is a YA romance, with fantasy and fairytale entwined. Myth is bullied at school she wants to end it all and wishes on the moon and then things change. I enjoyed the storyline although it was very quick, there wasn’t much character development in this book but as it is the first of the series I am hoping they will develop more in the next book. The only issue I had was the narrator seems kind of wooden, like he was just reading the book with no emotion, changes in voice when something happened. It would have been nice to add some emotion to it. I will get the book and read it myself to see if my opinions change.
I enjoyed the story. I noticed little nuances in the story more and more as I read. Myth our main character is bullied by 3 students at her school and they make her life miserable. Myth makes a decision, not a good one by the way and that's when things start changing. She meets Vesper a Prince and finds out she is a princess and she is to help fight an evil darkness! This was a quick read. I'm ready for the next installment!
This is a YA fantasy fairy tale romance. I felt that the events went a little too quickly, and I would have liked the story/ characters to be more developed, but it had a great storyline. The story is better suited for younger readers. The narration by Matt Bolden itself was well done, but the background quality wasn't really great.
Totally enjoyed this story. Full of fun, danger, other worlds and other peoples. Myth is so realistic that you feel her hurt and cry with her when people are mean to her. You watch her grow, laugh, love and become the best she can be. Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun, fast read. The intimacy with an underage female was a little tetchy but it did go with the story, as did the bullying. So just a little warning there for those who are sensitive to those subjects.
What an excellent world that Mira has created. Absolutely loved the characters and storyline. Looking forward to the next book in this series. Matt has such a lovely tone to his voice. Great job.
Myth is the recipient of a horrible prank and now she is being laughed at by everyone. This causes her to consider ending her life. She desperately makes a wish on the moon. Then a fae lord magically appears in front of her. He tells her that Vesper, the prince of yearning is waiting for her so she goes with him. She is taken to yearning, a place where all dreams come true. Vesper tells her she is a princess and she will end the ancient darkness that plagues yearning. She has a great time with prince Vesper but after she returns home she wonders if its all too good to be true. She will find out on the next full moon when she returns to yearning. A great story.
The story was okay but not to be remembered. I think the premise was good but the book itself didn’t do it enough justice. The narrator was also okay (meaning he wasn’t annoying and such but didn’t change the story with his reading). I know this is just part one of a series but I don’t think I’ll look into the next one.
