I am a T.M. Chris/Tanya Chris fan, and while those stories written as Tanya tend to be a bit softer and more romantic, I found this T.M. story to be all kinds of tender and loving.
It is definitely a BDSM story, but the focus is on domestic discipline, and the story revolves around a hurt/comfort theme. There are some pretty hot moments, but the BDSM does not focus on sex, and I appreciated seeing it depicted a bit differently than most BDSM stories.
Jake is a big, brawny, ex-Marine who struggles with deep anxiety. He finds himself constantly battling feelings of restlessness, where he is wound-up and on-edge, and with his size and strength he has developed a bad reputation that intimidates most doms. Jake has difficulty following through on tasks, is easily irritated, and is unable to control his mental unease. He wants desperately to submit to a master, but he hasn't found anyone who can control his outbursts. Jake is seeking an outlet for his anxiety, but all of the doms he has encountered have failed to provide the proper support and structure that he needs.
When Jake overhears a dom named Eduardo talking about lovingly taming a submissive named Earl, Jake decides that Eduardo may be just the dom he needs. Of course, there is the small matter of Earl to contend with (and *that* is an adorable development).
The two men are such a loving fit for each other. Where Jake is over-excitable, Eduardo is calm; where Jake is prone to worry, Eduardo is gently reassuring. Jake likes to be bossed and Eduardo likes doing the bossing. Theirs is a loving partnership that gives each other just what the other one needs, and it fills all the dark places in my heart to see them find that. They truly create a comforting and healing place with each other.

I can be short about this. A good, consistently written story, full-on BDSM.
Jake wants a Dom who can handle him. He didn’t meet the one who is right for him.
He is a strong, big guy, an ex-military and with a short temper, he wants to submit but has trouble, he can’t trust a Dom who is weaker than him. You have to be a master Dom to get him into submission. He tried many Dom’s and now they look at him with wary eyes because he’s unmanageable.
Then there is Dom Eduardo.
A painful journey. The discipline is hard. Eduardo is everything.
Eduardo’s personality was clear as Dom. At first, I had some trouble to understand Jake and his motives, later on, I got him more. It was good written and entertaining. I love me some fair Dom! Fair, disciplined but also kind and sweet.

October 31, 2023DD is a tough sell for me but this author's kinky romance usually hits the spot, plus KU. Alas, the dom has a dog who came to him traumatized and aggressive and in just! six! weeks! he has turned the dog into an obedient (ugh, I hate that word as applied to companion animals), friendly, safe pet.

There are dog trainers who claim to achieve a similar turnaround in a similar timeframe. They are charlatans and liars. They use harsh punishments to suppress certain behaviors and force others, so you get a facsimile of a well-mannered dog -- but at best you have, more or less, a flesh-and-blood robot; at worst, and more commonly, you have a tinderbox. It has been shown over and over and over again that aversive training methods -- choke, shock, prong, alpha roll, all the apparatus of "mastery" and "dominance" -- are strongly associated with fear and aggression.
Appropriate, scientifically grounded behavior change is nonviolent. Serious aggression in a traumatized animal is not curable; the best realistic outcome, usually, is that it's mitigable and manageable.
Look, I know Tamed is just an erotic romance, not a manual of dog training and behavior. But this garbage about turning an animal with serious behavior problems into a perfect companion practically overnight is dangerous to people (because the animal isn't "cured") and harmful to the animals in question (because they're being brutalized instead of being helped). No competent person working with dogs who have behavior problems has believed it in decades, yet it fucking will not die.
Don't take my word for it: see the position statement and other resources at the website of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists, veterinary behaviorists being veterinarians who have advanced training in animal behavior and who specialize in it.

Loved this story about a big difficult sub. Eduardo was the perfect Dom. Theirs was a fairy tale story. Earl was pretty wonderful too.

It's not a bad novella, but it didn't excite me either. It's too basic for me. Nothing SM except a spanking once in a while and two stays in a corner with the sub's nose against the wall. It's more domestic discipline than real BDSM. And I really don't believe that spankings can solve the psychological problems of someone with PTSD.
And by the way, it's not "His reputation proceeded him", but "His reputation preceded him".
I give it 3 stars and I recommend it to gay BDSM beginners.

So... I’ve decided that Tanya Chris has a way with dominant males.
There were parts in this book that made me super excited for what I was finding. Especially in the first half, Eduardo ticked all my dominant boxes and them some.
I really really have a thing for men who dominate without “trying”. I don’t know how else to put it. Doms with PRESENCE. Men you want to obey because they demand it of you without having to say a word?
Are you getting it people? Cause I’m no writer I can’t explain it any better than that.
So this author has moments where she really nailed these craving of mine.
I’ve read one other book of hers some time ago and this made me remember why I enjoyed that one as well.
Jake had moments that made me really feel sad for him. He’s like a bull in a china shop and all he wants is to fit in. To not make a mess of things.
I didn’t much care for the way he thought of himself as being “bratty” I don’t like the term and I don’t like the whole brat concept thing. Not at all, it’s a turn OFF for me.
I didn’t think him a “brat” for one moment. I read him as a guy who needs guidelines, rules, structure to help him cope in civilian life. A guy who knows how to defend himself and has his own view of what he thinks a “man” should or shouldn’t be.
He’s confused. He wants things but doesn't think it’s right to want them. Resulting in him acting out in frustration and being misunderstood. Labeled as something he really isn’t.
The biggest problem I have with this book is it’s length. It’s to short to come to it’s full potential.
If we had MORE this would have been so incredibly epic!
More time for the relationship to unfold
More background!! Both Eduardo and Jake
The background was non existing or 98% non existing. I would have had an even better
perspective on the characters if this was not left out.
More day to day Normalcy? More time for them to grow together.
It was really good for such a short little thing so I don’t want to be nagging on, but dammit there is so much unrealized potential and it drives me crazy when this happens.
But it still made my heart beat faster and I still loved the way Eduardo reeled Jake in.

Maybe it's hard to believe, but I actually found Jake adorable. Yes,I know he's a bada**,former marine, but sometimes he would act up just like one of those cute little kids,throwing tantrums just to test their boundaries.
That's precisely what Jake is lacking in his life: boundaries, structure and rules. And Tanya Chris really has made it amazingly easy to understand Jake's state of mind and why he's looking for specific things from a Dom. Why it's so hard for him to find one who could make him trust to the point of feeling safe . I was so happy when Eduardo proved to be exactly what Jake needs: someone strong and unyielding, who would care about Jake when he's good and most of all,who would still love him even when he's bad.
So,even if a book with a Dom/sub dynamic isn't something you'd usually pick, give 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 a chance. It's all feelings and kinky hotness, a love story between two men that are perfect for each other...and their cute,bratty dog.

I liked this but didn't love it as much I wanted to. Jake is exactly what I wanted him to be and T.M. Chris really went deep into his psychology and the reason why his needs as a sub are what they are. It hit close to home sometimes. I guess we have all struggled with self-sabotage in one way or another in our lives.
In contrast Eduardo is...not as fleshed out. There's lip service paid to him not just being a punishment dispensing machine but this story is simply too short to really give both men the room they needed to become people and not just signifiers.
Still, the scenes are fun, inventive and hot. This delivers on its promise and I would love to read a full book with this dynamic in the future.

A great kinky romance 💙💙

For a shorter, erotic read, Eduardo and Jake’s story was extremely well rounded and complete.
A large, strong man with a severe bratty side who intimidates Doms, Jake despairs ever finding what he needs. Until he meets the one man who just might have what it takes.
Eduardo likes control and discipline, basically following the philosophy, there are no bad _____, only bad owners.
I loved the growth and development in Jake both in and outside his relationship as a perfectly imperfect sub and partner to the steadfast Eduardo.

Eduardo lui tapota légèrement l'épaule pour lui ordonner de se tourner à nouveau vers l'avant. « Nous devrons discuter de ce que nous allons faire, mais pour l'instant je veux terminer ma conversation avec mon ami, alors peux-tu être un bon garçon pour moi et attendre ? »
Jake réfléchit un instant avant de décider que oui, il pouvait attendre. Il pouvait être un bon garçon pour Eduardo. Il hocha la tête, et l'approbation dans le sourire d'Eduardo valait bien toute attente.
« Excellent. Alors, mets-toi à genoux pour moi. »
Jake s'abaissa au sol à côté d'Eduardo et obéit à la direction ferme de sa main qui le guidait tandis qu'elle le tirait face contre terre contre sa cuisse. La bouche de Jake toucha le renflement de l'aine d'Eduardo.
« Voilà, c'est tout. Mais ne bave pas sur mon pantalon. Ne bafouille pas, repose-toi. »
Jake était irrité de ne pas pouvoir goûter. Eduardo sentait tellement bon.
Au-dessus de lui, les deux Doms reprirent leur conversation. Ils ne parlaient plus d'Earl maintenant (il ne pensait pas qu'il aurait pu le supporter s'ils l'avaient fait), mais d'une entreprise commerciale que l'autre lançait. Il semblait qu'Eduardo était avocat, ou peut-être même qu'il possédait un cabinet d'avocats. Il donna son avis sur le sujet avec autant d'assurance qu'il avait parlé de la formation d'un sous-marin difficile plus tôt. Les détails de l'accord échappèrent à Jake. Les mots n'étaient qu'un bourdonnement, un bruit de fond facilement maîtrisé.
Il se sentit satisfait pendant un moment, se glissant dans un espace de soumission grâce à l'odeur terreuse de l'entrejambe d'Eduardo et au contrôle ferme de sa main, mais finalement son agitation fit surface. Quand allaient-ils faire quelque chose ? Eduardo l'avait-il oublié ? Ce n'était pas ce pour quoi il s'était engagé. Ils n'avaient même pas discuté de ce pour quoi il s'était engagé - ni des mots de sécurité, ni des limites, ni rien.
Peut-être qu'il devrait se lever. Oui. Il devrait absolument se lever. Il devrait dire à Eduardo d'aller se faire foutre.
C'était la troisième fois qu'il disait mentalement à Eduardo d'aller se faire foutre en l'espace d'une demi-heure, ce qui était exactement la raison pour laquelle Doms ne voulait pas jouer avec lui. Mais, putain. Combien de temps était-il censé rester à genoux sur le sol d'un bar miteux et être ignoré ?
Il commença à se lever, mais Eduardo enfonça ses doigts un peu plus profondément, un léger tch venant de sa barbe. Ce n'était rien de plus que ça, pas de reconnaissance formelle de sa présence, mais d'une certaine manière c'était suffisant. La rébellion s'éteignit, et il ne resta que ça.
Il remarqua à peine que son ami s'envola, sauf qu'Eduardo se tapota la poitrine pour appeler Jake à lui. Jake se redressa sur ses genoux, posant sa tête sur l'abdomen d'Eduardo. Eduardo passa ses mains dans ses cheveux et frotta le creux de son oreille, ses ongles grattant légèrement la peau de Jake.
« Comment c'était ? »
Jake se retrouva à hocher la tête, un peu trop profondément pour pouvoir prononcer des mots. Une fois qu'il avait arrêté de penser à quel point il ne voulait pas rester immobile, rester immobile était devenu facile, et maintenant il était aussi difficile de bouger que cela l'avait été plus tôt. Eduardo prit son hochement de tête comme une réponse, continuant à le caresser doucement mais fermement et le regardant avec des yeux sombres et approbateurs.
« Tu as très bien réussi. Je suis content. »
L'élan de fierté qui traversa Jake le tua presque. Aucun Dom n'avait jamais été content de lui à la fin d'une scène, seulement parfois au tout début, avant que les choses ne lui échappent.
Sauf que, attendez...
Ce n'était pas la fin de la scène, n'est-ce pas ? Ils n'avaient même rien fait . Mais Eduardo le tirait pour le relever et le soulevait avec dextérité sur un tabouret de bar. Il demanda à Andi un verre d'eau et un cognac.

« Avons-nous terminé ? » Jake ne put s'empêcher de laisser une certaine irritabilité se glisser dans sa voix.
« Pour aujourd’hui. »
« Mais nous n’avons rien fait. »
« On a fait beaucoup de choses. On a appris à se connaître. On a eu une petite scène, qu'on n'avait pas négociée, mais je pense qu'on l'a bien gérée. Qu'en penses-tu ? »
Andi revint avec l'eau, et Eduardo porta le verre à la bouche de Jake jusqu'à ce que Jake le lui arrache.
« Tout allait bien. » Il reposa son verre, presque vide. Il avait vraiment soif.
Eduardo fit signe à Andi d'en prendre un autre, puis sirota son brandy avec un regard qui suggérait qu'il attendait que Jake continue.
« J'ai aimé être à tes pieds. C'était comme un début. »
« C’était un excellent début. »
« Mais pas assez. » Il était pris entre un brouillard d'endorphines et un sentiment d'insatisfaction. Il voulait se faire tabasser, avoir une scène digne de ce nom. C'était pour ça qu'il était venu au club ce soir-là. Pas pour passer une heure à ne rien faire d'autre que s'agenouiller.
« C'est à moi de décider », a dit Eduardo en sortant une carte de visite de son portefeuille. « Je ne suis pas fan des longues conversations juste avant une scène, mais je suis partisan de ne pas faire quelque chose à quelqu'un sans son consentement, alors remplissez une de ces listes de contrôle des perversités que vous pouvez trouver en ligne et envoyez-la-moi par e-mail. Une fois que j'aurai eu la possibilité de l'examiner, nous pourrons organiser une deuxième session. »

Jake avait compris. Il n'obtiendrait pas ce qu'il voulait ce soir. Si l'on en croyait Eduardo, il n'obtiendrait jamais ce qu'il voulait . Ce qui, si c'était vrai, était exactement ce qu'il voulait.
Alors pourquoi était-il si en colère ?
Ce n'était pas juste, c'est tout. Il méritait une scène.
« Nous n’avons rien à négocier », a-t-il suggéré. « Nous pourrions nous installer et vous pourriez faire ce que vous voulez. Je n’ai pas de limites. »
« Mais je le fais. Et je viens de te les donner. » Eduardo avala le reste de son cognac d'une seule gorgée qui devait brûler. « Puisque tu as suffisamment récupéré pour être difficile, je crois que nous en avons officiellement terminé. Penses-y, Jake. » Il tapota Jake sur le nez comme s'il était un chiot mal élevé et s'éloigna dans un geste de grâce masculine.

Jake grommela quelque chose qui était presque un oui et reçut un autre coup sec pour cela.

« Ni l'un ni l'autre. Je ne le fais pas exprès. Je comprends juste… »
« Vous passez en mode combat. »

« J'ai appris. Très bien. Je crois que nous nous comprenons. »
Ils l'ont fait ? C'était une surprise pour Jake, qui ne comprenait même pas ce qu'il se passait. Il avait accepté de ne pas faire de mal à Eduardo, mais à quoi d'autre avait-il consenti ? D'une manière ou d'une autre, Eduardo avait obtenu plus de résultats que ce à quoi il s'attendait grâce à cette liste de contrôle.
Il se sentit un peu paniqué. Il avait coché certaines cases de l'esprit de contradiction, ce qui ne semblait pas très intelligent maintenant, mais qui ne l'était jamais. C'est exactement comme ça qu'il s'était retrouvé dans ces situations. Il avait agi dans un accès de colère, avait fait quelque chose de complètement contre-productif pour ses propres intérêts, puis avait traversé la tempête de merde qui en avait résulté en sachant qu'il le méritait.

« Nous allons mettre un terme à ce comportement. »
« On y va ? » Jake leva le visage pour voir celui d'Eduardo.
« Peut-être devrais-je dire que oui . Si tu avais été capable de l’arrêter toi-même, tu l’aurais fait. »
Cela le faisait mal parce que c'était vrai. Peu importe le nombre de fois qu'il se répétait de compter jusqu'à dix ou de sourire et de supporter, il ne pouvait pas changer sa réaction sur le moment. C'était avec une rébellion de type « va te faire foutre » qui n'avait jamais fait de mal à personne, sauf à lui.
« Passons en revue les règles », dit Eduardo, caressant la tête de Jake jusqu'à la vallée de son aine. « Tu en as déjà appris certaines. Tu dois te déshabiller à ton arrivée. Quand je te dirai de me suivre, tu te mettras au pied du mur. Je te suggère d'utiliser tes mains, mais » – Eduardo haussa les épaules – « ne t'attends pas à de la clémence par d'autres moyens si tu choisis de ne pas le faire. Les punitions que j'administrerai seront spécifiques, justes et de durée limitée, alors que le mal que tu t'infligeras sera illimité et potentiellement disproportionné. C'est quelque chose sur quoi tu devrais réfléchir. »

Six… » Eduardo fit une pause, donnant à Jake la chance de s’en prendre plus profondément, mais il réussit à garder la bouche fermée pour une fois. « Six, pendant la punition, je m’attends à ce que tu m’appelles monsieur. À d’autres moments, tout ce qui est respectueux fera l’affaire. » Il fit une pause, puis ajouta. « S’il te plaît, ne raccourcis pas mon nom en Ed. La forme abrégée d’Eduardo est Lalo. »
— Lalo, répéta Jake. La bite d’Eduardo s’était un peu gonflée. Elle formait une jolie bosse contre son visage, ferme et masculine à travers la fine couche de coton gris. Peut-être qu’Eduardo le baiserait après l’avoir puni, sauf qu’il n’y aurait probablement pas d’après. Pourquoi s’embêter à établir des règles comme si cette nuit allait se répéter encore et encore alors qu’elle se terminerait inévitablement par le fait qu’Eduardo le jetterait hors de la maison ?

Jake has got to be one of the most confused, contrary and hilarious characters I've read in ages.
Here we have a big, tough, ex-military guy who has serious anger issues.
He haunts the BDSM clubs because he is a submissive at heart, but is also a rebel by nature.
He's already made a name for himself with doms far and wide due to his contrariness and nobody wants anything to do with him anymore...
Until he runs into an equally stubborn but compassionate dom who sees right into his soul.
This book is about discipline. This is not truly a romance, (though it has definite romantic elements) but focuses primarily on the disciplinary side of the relationship.
Anyone who has read Tanya Chris will know that no matter long or short, or whatever topic the story deals with, it will be well written, well researched, and easy and comfortable reading.
However, this story might not appeal to everyone.
The romantic development is minimal, and seems to happen in the background so the audience is not privy to the characters growing closer.
There is very little actual drama or angst... Just lots of spanking! LOL
So, if you enjoy that, give this little book a go.
Jake certainly had me in stitches for the first half of the book.
Three things I disliked (or rather found lacking) :
1. I'd have liked to know the ages of the MCs.
2. I'd have loved to get Eduardo's POV as well as Jake's.
3. I would have liked to delve deeper into Jake's head to know where his anger originated. Perhaps a bit more conversation between the MCs about that.

Good D/s Mm story

He wants to be a good sub but ends up fighting with every Dom who has tried to make him behave and he has a terrible reputation as a result. Eduardo takes him on and this book is how he tamed Jake. This is a Hot and ultimately a sweet story as Jake and Eduardo both get what they need and want.

I liked this story though it is not an easy read. Jake is a big grown up former Marine who needs a strong guide to help him cope with the brat that is in him. You have to be ready to read about a big guy being spanked for punishment, being put in a corner, being treated as a mischievous boy in grade school. Spanking is my least favorite kink to read, but in this case, the need for discipline connected to the action (and not the usual sexual release associated to it in BDSM stories) makes sense and is essential for Jake.
Given that the book is written only from Jake's POV, Edoardo remains quite difficult to understand. There are not much romantic feelings in this story, though at some point there are a few pages dedicated to giving the reader a glimpse of normal sweet homey life between the two MCs. And Earl (I won't reveal who he is) is such a great side character; he is a bridge between Jake and Edoardo, showing that the latter man does have a soft spot.
It is a well written short story, but do not expect romance and sweetness. Their relationship is a challenge, is a continuous "three steps forward-two steps back", but this is how they best function, and who are we as readers to object it?

Reading through this story I found my heart going out to Jake. His lack of restraint, coming from what seemed like a lack of self confidence and respect, made me so sad for him. His need for someone to control him, to give him the discipline he craved, was filled by Eduardo. Together they fit like a glove. Together they were better. Good start and as you read through becoming more familiar with the m/s’s you hoped for their HEA. As the story concluded your heart was with them both and the story closed beautifully. Nice job to this author on creating a story that had more than punishment in it, it had warmth, commitment and, finally, a sweet love story. T.M. Chris delivers not only a hot story but also one with meaning. There’s no doubt the erotica feel to this, I’m glad I didn’t read it in public! Yet there’s a sweetness to it that made it all the more captivating.
The character development was exceptionally well done, especially for this type of piece. I fell in love with Jake and loved seeing his journey. T.M. Chris really poured so much into Eduardo; I greatly appreciated the extra depth. The world building was intricate and vivid.
The storyline truly went far beyond BDSM. It touches on so many topics. It’s also a refreshing change from other books were the sub is the smaller of the two. I could not put it down. I felt everything from sorrow to humor, much more than I expected.

This is a short but fascinating MM disciplinarian novella with a surprising undertone of love. It is has a well-written, intriguing plot & is told by one character’s POW. The characters have good chemistry between them & actually complement each other throughout the story-line.

I enjoyed meeting Jake and Eduardo. The two make a good couple and it was nice to see the way their relationship progressed. Jake needs someone like Eduardo. Someone who will give him just what he needs. The author does a nice job of bringing these characters to life. The two men must work hard to figure out what they each need from the other and how their relationship will work. Their story is full of emotions as Eduardo and Jake find a way to their happy ever after without sacrificing what they truly long for. I enjoyed seeing the trust grow between the men and seeing it deepen into love made for a nice read.

I liked that Jake was not the stereotypical sub type, and I loved that size didn't bother Eduardo. In truth, size shouldn't matter in this case, because a good dom is in control regardless of his sub's stature! The brattiness Jake exhibited was funny and hilarious coming from him, and the spankings- OMG! I'm dead!! The short shorts on Jake just made me smile so big! Adorbs!! I loved watching the connection between the two grow into a special relationship. I loved Earl- so sweet! This story gave me a lot of feels and warm and fuzzies. Swoon worthy ending!!

I was given an advanced copy of this story in return for an honest review. Another Great book from author T.M. Chris!! I love this story of someone uncomfortable in their own body and feelings finding that one person who "gets" them and is able to help them find comfort in being themselves and being with someone else! The fact that it's within a Dom/Sub, m/m, and age gap relationship just ticks a few extra "YaY" buttons for me!! :D A Few tears were shed during the reading of this ARC, but hey, I'm a softie.......

I loved this book when it was a short story, and I love it even more when we got five more chapters with the guys. It's a different take on the genre, Jake is anything but a twinky, giggling and flirting sub. He is big, strong willed and need a Dom that can give him the punishment he needs to keep the brat at bay.
I love Eduardo's way of handling Jake's struggles, so caring and patient, strict when it's needed and know exactly what Jake needs.
There is nothing I don't love about this book, other than wanting even more of them.

I loved this story, and especially Eduardo's infinite patience with Jake. I loved the plot and how Eduardo was able to help Jake make positive changes in his life. I loved Earl, too. So protective, yet so obedient, and a real sweetheart. I loved the way he came to love and comfort Jake. I especially liked that this story wasn't just about BDSM, but had a real life purpose in helping Jake to learn to mange his anger and attitude. I liked the personal relationship that developed between Eduardo and Jake, too.

This was the first book I have read by this author(I have KU and all the books are on it) and I immediately got another, then another after that, if that tells you anything.
Of the three stories I have read, this is my favorite so far. I like both of the MC's and it is like a slice of life story (if your slice is M/M domestic discipline). The main angst in the story is Jake's internal struggle with his anger issues, and it ends with HEA.
I have already borrowed a 4th book by this author, and because of KU, I will probably work my way through all of this author's books.

Very good for what it is...
Jake has it hard, he's his own worst enemy and a big intimidating guy. He's also a brat and submissive. Not an easy combination, then there is Eduardo, controlled and Dominant and apparently up for whatever it takes to make Jake heel.
T.M. Chris writes about the needs that sometimes make the reader wonder. It's a good book, I wanted to hug Jake and strangle him, but his inner brat just needed to know who he could trust. Eduardo was a gift and really just the person Jake needed. Good read the book.

I really liked the dynamic between Eduardo and Jake. There is something about a big bratty sub who has lost his way and needs the firm hand of strict, kind dom that I can’t enough of. Eduardo is the perfect man for Jake and I loved seeing the trust and love grow, albeit with a few hiccups along the way. I would have liked to see more of this couple outside the house and bedroom. As sexy and hot as you would expect from TM Chris! Really enjoyed this story, provided for review.

A highly conflicted former Marine searching for a master who can "handle" him, Jake is very unhappy with his life. Seeking what he thinks he needs at one club after another is making him ever more angry and depressed. Meeting Eduardo changes his life. The author couches this story in the BDSM world but allows the characters to be more than just their kink. The story has some heat, but also tenderness. Well worth reading. I really enjoyed this unusual story of a sub with challenges and the Dom who rose to the occasion. Jake is running out of potential Doms when he hears Eduardo describing how he’s been handling Earl and giving him what he needed. Jake recognizes that he needs what Eduardo has to give, and his quest to submit is another great read from T.M. Chris.
Well written, engaging characters, great chemistry, interesting insights into psychology and D/s. I loved it! This will be a re-read for me.

I really liked it, my very first by T. M. Chris but deffinatly not my last. Jake is stuggling not only at the club but with is life, he has issues with most everything including finding a Dom he can not only submit to, but also respect and being a big retired marine doesn't help when he is trying to scene. He over hears Eduardo discussing about some behavior challenges he has used to help another and thinks maybe he could help him, now if he could just covince him he's worth the effort.

Unexpected
I enjoyed this book possibly more than I expected to and for different reasons than I expected to. The dynamic between Eduardo and Jake was well constructed and I appreciated that the entire story was from Jake’s perspective since he had so many complex issues to deal with. I liked that Jake wasn’t completely fixed at the end, but that he understood it was okay to be imperfect
