Ranch attorney Ty Warner isn’t buying Rachel Henderson’s story. He’s sure the pretty single mom is after his boss’s fortune, but Rachel claims she’s just looking for family who might donate the kidney she needs to survive. As Ty grows closer to Rachel and her little girl, he discovers the raw truth—he’ll do whatever it takes to help Rachel live.
A self-professed crazy chicken lady, Danica Favorite loves the adventure of living a creative life. She loves to explore the depths of human nature and follow people on the journey to happily ever after. Though the journey is often bumpy, those bumps are what refine imperfect characters as they live the life God created them for. Oops, that just spoiled the ending of all of Danica’s stories. Then again, getting there is all the fun.
A pull-at-your-heartstrings contemporary romance. Rachel's predicament -- the fact that she urgently needs a life saving kidney transplant is enough to send me into an emotional tailspin, but add in the fact that she's a single mom and has absolutely no other family...well, I had a lump in my throat the whole read.
And Ty -- gah -- but that man is bullheaded! So bent on seeing Rachel in the worst light. True, he has valid reasons but, goodness, he could be quite cutting in a don't-mess-with-my-lawyerly-self way when he wanted to get his point across. That's because he's committed to protecting his employer from the fortune hunting interloper. Bwahahaha! Luckily Rachel is just as bullheaded so she can hold her own.
Katie, Rachel's four-year-old daughter is a real scene stealer, especially when she works her preschooler wiles on the taciturn lawyer. Happy sigh. I do so love a stalwart hero who melts under the sunshiney force of an adorable child.
The Cowboy’s Sacrifice begins the Double R Legacy series with a romance that starts off with terse suspicions and ends in everlasting love. It’s a story that combines reality, faith, and finding that one person meant for you… and overcoming stubborn, bullheaded suspicions.
Rachel is in need of a kidney transplant. Her life is at stake, and in many ways, her daughter’s future as well since Rachel is a single mom with no family. Or perhaps we should say no “known” family for Rachel is on a search for family, any branch or connection type of family that might be willing to help her in this desperate need. This is how she ended up facing down an overly protective lawyer of his employer, Ty… and begins a journey that neither expected.
Ty is convinced, and stubborn enough to be reluctant to admit that he might be wrong, that Rachel is up to no good, trying to worm her way into his employer’s life… his very wealthy employer. One adorable little girl with a winning, innocent smile, and one lady who is proving herself to be straightforward, just as bullheaded as he is, are slowly changing Ty’s mind. He has his reasons for his protectiveness yet these two females are starting to get to his heart – something he never expected to happen.
I enjoyed The Cowboy’s Sacrifice very much. It’s a quick read that holds so much emotion within its pages. Both Ty and Rachel grew throughout the story, changing just enough for them to fit together so well… and one little girl is the true scene-stealer of this story. An emotional, heartwarming beginning to a series that I will be continuing.
I loved this story of two characters who were at odds over trust issues most of the time but they both had valid reasons. They just had to get over them! Rachel doesn't have any family but her little girl and needs a kidney so she's searching for a donor. After doing a DNA search, she finally discovers a possible long-lost grandfather so seeks him out, without disclosing who she is. His "gatekeeper", however, is his attorney, Ty, and he smells something fishy! Rachel and her darling daughter may seem sweet but she's hiding something and he doesn't trust her! The two of them were quite a pair. As Rachel gets sicker, will Ty's heart soften and believe her claims? I loved how both of them were able to overcome the difficulties of their pasts to make a new beginning! Katie, the daughter was so cute!
Heartwarming story of a single mom, Rachel, needing a kidney transplant, in search of her DNA family match to see if there are other relatives to possibly be a donor. She has an adorable little girl. Ty Warner is the lawyer for the Double R Ranch and is suspicious of people coming to claim they are his boss, Ricky’s, long lost grandchild. Great beginning to a new series!
This is a heartwarming story about a single mom dealing with a kidney condition. Her little girl is adorable, and I love the way the main characters deal with their weaknesses and grow as people. I highly recommend this one.
The story line is outstanding the characters are well written and very interesting. Keep the Kleenex hand. The children are wonderful. On to the next story in the series. I will be rereading this series
