Tessa only ever wanted her happily ever after. The husband, the 2.5 kids, and the white picket fence. That's what everyone is supposed to want, right? That was until her dream turned into a nightmare that left her with no choice but to take her newborn son and disappear.

Sawyer wanted to run. Slowing down meant everything could catch up. The past he wanted to forget, the demons he was fighting so hard to leave behind. But when he needs a change, the last thing he expects is to get knocked on his ass by the single mother across the street.

As the past catches up with both of them, it forces them to face their demons and the devil himself to outlast, overcome, and maybe find the forever they never dreamed they could have.

What a debut novel by Jessica Joy!! Sawyer and Tessa are both scarred from their pasts. Sawyer was stumbling along and drinking his pain away, looking for a reason to keep going. Then, a little spitfire of woman with her own reason to fight for a new day walked into his life. And the sparks fly. With a host of characters to fall in love with, this book has it all—brotherhood, family, loyalty, love, action, and steam.

Tessa with her little son leaves Seattle after dramatic situation and moves to a north small town. She is welcomed warmly by everyone and she moves into a home opposite Sawyer’s home who is a MC member.
She is really attracted to him and he to her too. Sawyer helps her a lot with her situation and her son. And it doesn’t take long for them to become something more.
They both had sad and traumatic moments in their lives and together they’re trying to have a better future.

I loved this story a lot. The moments between Tessa and Sawyer were cute and funny, especially funny were Tessa’s thoughts about him.
It also had action and drama that really kept me on the edge of my seat.

I can’t believe this is Jessica’s first book, she blew me away! She created an amazing world with characters I was immediately drawn to. This book definitely holds its own in the MC world. Tessa and Sawyer are both strong characters and the spark between them is instant! They make a hot, powerhouse couple and the perfect little family. Already excited for the next book!

Such a great start to a series!

Omg Sawyer is everything when it comes to a alpha male! Him and Tess make a great pair. I can’t wait to see what the suture holds for this club and these characters. It’s so exciting. Such a great must read if you are a true MC fan! 😍😍😍😍

Hated the way the characters talked to themselves in their thoughts. There was way too many character thoughts and they were just all repeated over and over, and over, it was so boring. There was also zero difference between the hero and heroine in the way their thoughts were written. It really was very lacking.

There was the odd bit of humor I enjoyed but most of it was really immature and way too cheesy. The story is so boring, the majority of what we are made to read describes every day activities, or the characters thinking about every day things. Or them thinking in a really way too sweet and cheesy and OTT way about their feelings and thoughts of each other. Not much else. Argh! DNF. Too boring, cheesy and immature.

Eventhough I have issues with this book, I still enjoyed reading it. A new author for me and this is Jessica Joy's first book so much kudos to her attempt. There's still much room for improvement (maybe not have the mc's have sex at inappropriate moments) and I look forward to the next book in this series.

What a killer debut novel!

I was immediately in love with Sawyer! He is alpha with a soul and kind gentle heart! He has a story that keeps him feeling a certain way.

Tessa is a beautiful broken lady that is just what Sawyer needs and who doesn’t realize needs Sawyer too! She is running and eventually when she stops, her biggest changes will happen!

To go to a town and fall for it and the people in it is a wish she didn’t have but it’s what she gets!

Great book

Fantastic story, a strong independent feisty young woman running for her life with her young son gets help from an unlikely source a motorcycle club and finds friends there as well. Fast paced, action packed, filled with enough twists and turns to keep your interest right from the start. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I love finding new authors. So, to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how well done this story was made it even better. Strong characters, single mother, danger, and MC romance? Yeah, I was all in. Great start to a series. I cannot wait to get more from these characters. I'm hoping that as the story progresses, that I get more from these characters as it ended quite abruptly in the moment.

Very slow start, but it starts rolling along

This book had a very slow start, but turned into a decent read. I commend the author for her bravery in putting her work out there and I’ll likely read Lexi’s story though. Even if some of this felt a little like forced banter and levity to lift the story, I’d give this author another shot.

Love how he gets his road name. This book is an easy read and I love the characters and the tiny town in Minnesota. I wanna work with Alice at the diner. Fun MC read that checks all my boxes

Started out as a good read however I couldn’t fathom how tess could act the way she did while her baby was missing , as a parent I’d be psycho searching not having sex ,that ruined it for me .

I've read maybe just 1 other MC book so I'm not very versed in this genre, so while there were somethings that I had issues with, I enjoyed the book overall.

I enjoyed the first half very much and it was looking like a solid slow burn, which let me tell you, Sawyer, the MMC, sounded like a dude who could give slow burn vibes for pages because he's so adorkable, but then it caught fire and went into instalust and quickly to instalove right before a huge bombshell happened that while I expected it, also for me, was were I started to not to like where it was heading.

The last quarter just felt weird in the fact that a lot of things happened that didn't sync up or felt right within the moment, and a lot of repetitive inner monologue from both Sawyer and Tessa, the FMC that went on too long with neither one bringing it up to the other to actually discuss it, the overuse of 'babydoll', for me was too much and actually gave me an ick feeling after a while.

Unputdownable! I finished this book in two sittings then pre-ordered the next one!

If like me, you wished that SOA was a book series, I have good news for you! Spartan (Forsaken Sons MC book#1) by Jessica Joy is here!
Single mom Tessa and her baby boy are on the run after escaping near death. All she wants is to find a safe place for her and her son to start a new life. After she’s forced off the road in a snowstorm she stumbles upon a motel where she finds a lot more than she bargained for, including one bad ass alpha.

Sawyer is a broken man who tries to find peace in the bottom of a bottle of bourbon, bar fights and women but he can’t escape his demons. When he meets a curvy, adorable ‘fun-sized’ brunette and her beautiful little boy, the alpha in him roars loud.

This debut author has created an amazingly rich world with complex and believable characters. The plot is layered and well developed. Using dual POVs, you get a front row seat to all the action, mystery, twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your kindle! The chemistry between Tessa and Sawyer is explosively HAWT! I fell so hard for this couple.

Well done! I'm so excited for book 2!

Good, strong start

I am an MC addict and this book has all the elements I look for in a good MC romance. Good start to a series I’m looking forward to reading. My only criticism would be that some parts of the story seemed glossed over or even like I had missed something previously in the book. But being a first for this author I think it was overall a great book and this author has so much potential to make this a favorite series for many. Can’t wait for Gage’s story. I hope we won’t have to wait to long for the next book in the series and hopefully it will be about the fun lovable leprechaun!

Loved the men, loved the club!

Absolutely loved this MC romance. So well written and with fantastic characters, and I loved the way Sawyer gets his nickname Spartan! Felt I was back watching Sons of Anarchy, and that’s big praise indeed. The reason for the 4-stars instead of 5 is Tessa’s reaction after she is attacked (and disaster strikes -no spoilers). She was not as frantic as I would have been in her shoes, and the sex scenes after that event felt psychologically unrealistic. Nevertheless really excited I’ve got Book 2 to look forward to, can’t wait to read Gage and Tinker.

Disappointment

I'm giving it two stars for the fact the author took the time to write and publish this book. There's to much inner thoughts going on from both characters. Repeating the same thoughts over and over through out the whole book. Sex scenes that drag over whole chapters or more for each encounter. I mean you actually start flipping through pages just to get past them! The female character was totally unlikable! The MC make up of this didn't really ring true in this, with the female character going along with the in dangerous circumstances, regardless if it had to do with her. They let her do what she wanted.

Great start to a series

For the first book by this author, all I can say is this is an amazing book!! This book will suck you in from page one to the end.

Sawyer is all alpha with a gentle heart. He protect what he loves. He was stumbling along with his life looking for a reason to keep going.

Tessa is a beautiful an broken that is on the run. Sawyer is just the man she needs in her and Evans life.

I look forward to reading more from this author!

Great debut novel

This is the first book in the series and apparently the first by this writer . It’s a great start to the series and I can’t wait to see her write a kick ass series . Tessa is running from an abusive ex and meets Sawyer who is part of the Forsaken Sons MC . I loved Sawyer and how he bonded with Tessa’s infant son . She finally finds family and belonging .

This book was OK. I will probably read the 2nd, although it's not a burning need now. But all in all it was an all right book. I seriously do not like this hyper feminism BS where the the main character has to be some sort of b**** to be a strong independent woman. So that drove me absolutely up the wall. Plus the storyline kind of got a little corny if you ask me. But overall it was alright.

This was an amazing read and enjoyed it from the first to last page. This author blew my mind with her witty, fast paced storyline. I was sad to see the story end because I wanted to keep reading. I read it all in one night I loved it that much. Can hardly wait for the second book to come out.
