This book emphasizes how God needs to be the one we rely on for everything. When reading this book, keep your Bible nearby to look up the Scripture references. I feel this book provides a wealth of encouragement, but If you wish to read a theological,y-heavy book you may want to look further.

I feel this book provides the perfect quick read with the author providing encouragement throughout the pages. I recommend you check out this book for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own

God the Father, Jesus the Big Brother, Holy Spirit the Best Friend” is the first book that I have read by this author. This is not a theology book; rather, it’s like having a cup of coffee with a fellow Christian and chatting about her relationship with the Trinity.

I wanted to read this book because I loved the cover. I felt like it did an excellent job showing the many layers of our amazing God as a whole. I think this can be a difficult concept for new Christians to grasp, and this book does an excellent job at emphasizing and knowing God intimately and keeping our eyes focused on him. I love how the reader shares her experience, and this book would be beneficial for new Christians struggling to grasp this experience.

I did enjoy reading this book and agreed with much of the book. I would read this book with the Holy Spirit’s guidance and have your bible handy for further study. I’m still contemplating and reflecting on a few parts of this book (as I do with any Christian book). I recommend this book to new Christians in their faith. I would also suggest finding some Christian friends at a local church to talk theology and dig deep into the word to learn to have a relationship with God. I think it is a personal journey and daily growth for everyone, and it’s a lifetime walk with many discoveries every day!

This nonfiction text presents basic teaching about the Trinity—God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The author uses stories for her personal life and from others experiences to illustrate her points. The teaching is sometimes simplistic and would be a reminder for experienced Christians. I think it would be helpful for young believers—especially teens and young adults—or anyone new to the faith. She does share from a charismatic perspective but that does not overshadow the main teaching. The book is easy to read and understand and not long to read. It could be used in a Bible study class since it is filled with Scripture. The truth shared helps make the three Persons of the Trinity more real to the reader. The book explains how to build a deeper relationship with each One and the roles They play in our lives. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.

This book is good encouragement to make God the most important being in our lives, living to please Him. Rodgers assures us that God loves us and wants the best for us. We are encouraged to live with Jesus as our example. We are also to have an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. Rodgers shares her own charismatic experience and encourages us to listen to the Spirit and follow His direction.

Christians who hold a seriously respectful view of God, His sovereignty, holiness and otherness, may experience some discomfort with Rodgers' attitude toward God. Rather than seeing God as totally sufficient in Himself, Rodgers writes, “His life isn't complete until He has you with Him.” (65/1715) Rather than seeing God as a being very different from humans, Rodgers says, “God is just like any other person on this planet.” (95/1715) Rodgers also writes, “The Holy Spirit is just like you or me, He doesn't like being ignored or made fun of or disobeyed.” (1257/1715) In creating humankind, Rodgers says, “God wanted someone with His looks, His genes, and His bloodline.” (95/1715) Of the very God of the entire universe, Rodgers writes, “You are God's main priority.” (218/1715)

This is a very encouraging book but I would caution readers to compare some of what Rodgers says about God with what is known from Scripture about God's majesty and uniqueness as the eternal creator and ruler of the universe.

The book does emphasize the unconditional love that God has for us. He is always there for us, but we need to spend more time with Him. The author does give examples where God has answered prayers and opened doors that people thought were impossible. It is a matter of faith and trust in Him that shows us that He is in control. There are times in the book that I couldn’t quite follow the direction the book was going. It did seem to be repetitive and lacked some much needed focus.

The author does talk about times where people will let us down, but God never will. I am not quite sure I agree with everything in the book and at times had to read scriptures to see what the Bible said. This is the kind of book that does perhaps give personal beliefs so some may not agree with the author. I do appreciate the emphasis of knowing God intimately and keeping your eyes focused on Him. With the title you can see that the author goes into some detail about what each part of the title means. I read the book twice because I wanted to understand what the explanations were. For me, the book was not easy to understand. I will say that anyone reading the book should have an open mind and allow God to show you His undeniable love for us.

This was a pretty interesting book. It does emphasize that God is the most important being in our lives. The author does give what seems a lot of her opinions and although she does so in an encouraging word make sure you have your Bible handy to make sure it goes along with what you believe. At times I had to do that myself. It is a very encouraging book but as far as being theologically sound I would be cautious.

"God the Father, Jesus the Big Brother, Holy Spirit the Best Friend" by Sunshine Rodgers is a book that I thought I would have trouble reading and understanding because of the season I am in. a season of grief, but the book was really easy to read and understand. I brought the audiobook before starting this book because of me thinking I wouldn't understand it but there wasn't any reason to but I am glad I did because the reader's voice was pleasant to listen to.

This book encourages us to live to please God and Jesus, which I totally agreed with, but there are a few sentences I am having trouble accepting such as “His life isn't complete until He has you with Him.” “God is just like any other person on this planet.” "God wanted someone with His looks, His genes, and His bloodline.” The Holy Spirit is just like you or me, He doesn't like being ignored or made fun of or disobeyed.” “You are God's main priority.” I know God loves us and I don't think I am God's main priority and I don't think God isn't complete without me, He wants me and you to belong to Him but He doesn't need us to belong to Him in order for Him to be God. God isn't just like any other person, he isn't a person, yes He became man as Jesus but He was still sinless.

I recommend this book to all readers who wants a better understanding of The Trinity.

This audiobook was gifted to me with the understanding that I would leave an honest review.
The audiobook is narrated by Tina Marie Shuster and her voice is perfect for this book. I enjoyed listening to her very much.
I love the cover showing an apple with the peel coming away each part of the peel shows the name of the book. I saw this as the different layers of our amazing God but yet a whole. Much of this book was just a recap of what I believe but the way Sunshine has written it you understand in simple words. The book is written in such a way that no matter what denomination you are you can lean and gleam something from this book. I loved how filled with scripture the book is showing that this is the way God wants us to understand him and the trinity. I also loved the real life examples. These helped me to grasp the scripture and teaching in today's terms. I read this book from cover to cover like you would a novel but I can see it being used as a reference book. Sunshine Rodgers your book is wonderful and I can see the hand of God was with you as you wrote it. Thank you for letting me listen to it and review it.

God the Father, Jesus the Big Brother, Holy Spirit the Best Friend is written by Sunshine Rodgers. This is the first book that I have read by this author. I remember being a new Christian and being confused by the Trinity. I was raised Catholic - and when I was 20, for several reasons I started attending a Baptist church and was saved. There was a lot of adjustments that went along with that. That included the Trinity. I wish I would have had this book during that time.

This book really takes a detailed look at the relationship with God the father, God the Holy Spirit and God the Best Friend. The author includes lots of Bible verses to back everything she is writing about. Her writing is clear and concise. I always make sure when reading books like this to pray hard that God will reveal to me what he wants me to see, even if I do not agree fully with everything that the author is writing.

However, this does a good job breaking down that God will never leave us, nor will he foresake us. For new Christians this is important to know.

I received a copy of this book through the Celebrate Lit Blogging Program, all thoughts are my own.

I really enjoyed this book. The author does a great job explaining how God is one but three. That is always a difficult concept but Sunshine Rodgers does a great job with it. I loved the scriptures she put with them and the apple on the front cover seemed very fitting for the overall book.

I believe this book really could be used by most any denomination as there was no clear leaning that I saw. This isn't a 'can't put it down page turner' but more of a help when you are studying and trying to understand book. Church libraries would be a great place for this along with anyone who is wanting to read more about the trinity.

4/5

Thank you to the author/publisher for the review copy of this book via Celebrate Lit. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

This was an interesting read. It definitely brings you into a thinking phase. While I did not agree with everything that the author said I did find that it made me think and consider what I believe and why I believe that. I encourage you to read your Bible and see what it says versus what the author says.

There are some good nuggets within this book but also things I don’t agree with. All in all, I think it is a good read and that it should be read with an open mind and an open Bible.
