A beautiful book , one of the best ya fiction books I've read this year.
Two broken and lost souls searching for their way in life when they feel as though it's all been taken from them.
Shes been scarred by domestic violence, he's the former golden bad boy who turns bitter after he's lost his eyesight.
Dealing with some tough issues that will keep you pressing on to see how to see if there's a happy resolution.
You will become invested in the character's lives as we deal with firsts, first kiss, first romance, loss of innocence, heart break, loss and redemption.
This one is emotional and raw, laid all on the line.
Capturing your heart the hero is swoony and protective and you may find yourself daydreaming about him as you read.

This is one of the best Young Adult books I've read in 2019. It is a breath of fresh air, considering the road most YA authors are going with one fallen angel and one savior.

"I have a sword, not a halo. And my wings are black, not white."

This is a story of two fallen angels falling in love. Allison and Hunter match perfectly together. They both have been through a lot in life. They appreciate every good thing come across. It's not ideal when they have to seperate ways in hope for a better future. Still they fight and survive everything. Wingless but angel still. Damaged but beautiful still.

I'm in love with Kaye's way of developing the story. Fast with the loving and long with the hurting. Time flies when you are in love. Time stands still when you are waiting for the pains to end.

Sex (or the lack of it) is one of the elements I'm even more in love with this book. I get it, sex is the trend and the necessity in most books these day. But after all, it's a YA and the kids still want deep connections more than the stuff they can easily see on the Internet. Trust me when I say the chemistry is worth for all the lack of sex scenes here. The epilogue caught me off guard with the sex fact and I enjoy that too much because it's the direction me and my boyfriend is heading. I might be biased but I love how their future is heading at.

I love the friendship Allison had with Denise. It's how friendships should always be. Supportive and understanding. Never push or interfere anything. Sometimes friendship can be one-sided, and it's not healthy having someone you can't trust around.

I would say I'm not really a fan of love triangle but I'll make an exception for this one. Jerilee Kaye is very talented with her build-up, making sure the readers don't feel uncomfortable with how the story went. I want more imperfections though. I wish one of the guys weren't that smooth because it made the ending a bit rush with all the truth revealed. I actually rooted for him at some point of the book to be honest. But isn't it the beauty of plot twists? Make you scream (physically) and die of happiness in the end? (some tears fall along the way)

Overal I enjoy reading this book a lot. Brought me a lot of hope and love in my real life. Recommend this for everyone who's looking for a bit dark but soft YA.

---------- SPOILER POINT -----------

I'm amazed with how much of hot topics are brought into the story. Violent abuse, alcohol abuse, child abuse and more. We all could use some knowledge about all these problems right now! I wish Jerilee mentioned more about Denise story with the teacher though. I definitely want to know the details of the whole thing soon!

And don't forget Alice's wonderful aunt. Such a role model with endless love and empathy.

The way the story goes remind me a bit of Fallen Crest series by Tijan if I'm being honest. Rich guys competing for a girl. Hunter as a god around and Chaise as the back up guy. I'm glad the story isn't to violent. And also glad it doesn't take a few book to make me hate Chaise.

Zusatz: Ich bin kein Fan vom Cover. Die Handlung scheint zudem an dem Cover angepasst und nicht andersherum das Cover zum Buch angepasst zu sein.

This Story is Simply Beautiful

If there would be something not perfect in my eyes - it would be the fact - I felt that the leads should have been a little older. They did not act their age but more like 2 or 3 years older - It would have made this beautiful story totally perfect ....

The writing was really good and hooked me
However, the storyline is highly unrealistic and icky.

Spoiler alert + trigger warning suicide & anxiety:
Someone who hyperventilated once is NOT per say suicidal
Nor are you someone who knows the signs of a suicidal person if your mother choose to end her life because she ended someone else's.
This irritated me so badly I even dreamt of it...

This is a story about the two broken souls falling in love. Allison Harley was a victim of domestic violence that left her physically scarred and emotionally broke while Hunter Vaughn was handsome, rich, and smart or let say an almost perfect boy until a tragedy took away his perfect life, along with his ability to see the beauty around him. Allison was still trying to forget about her past that is still haunting her while Hunter thought that he has no reason to undergo any treatment to recover his eyesight not until they met.

This story made me realized that life is not going to be perfect as it was. You can’t always have the things that you didn’t have to worry about losing before because once they are gone… those were just mere memories. No matter how hard you pray, you could never get them back as it is. We should admire the beauty around us—the nature, the mornings, the sky, and even the people dearest to you—because those beauties are only limited and only exist because you are breathing and you have your senses.

You don’t have to face your problems alone. You can’t just bottle up your emotions. There’s a person who’ll help you face those nightmares and acknowledge the pain. Someone will make you feel that you are not alone… there’s someone who really understands what’s going on inside you.

This story also made me remember Hellen Keller’s quote that “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen – they must be felt by the heart “ In the story, Allison always describes herself as a horrendous and monstrous but Hunter, a blind man, still acknowledge her always and tells her that she’s pretty every single day. It’s because even without touching and seeing, as long as you open your heart, you can learn that different person has their own beauty.

This story gives hope to everyone. You may have experienced a lot of tragic things in life, giving up is not the answer. As long as you're alive, everything is possible. Fight and survive everything! You may be wingless but still a beautiful angel.

I urge you all to read Wingless and Beautiful by Jerilee Kaye. It really makes you appreciate what we are given.

Good plot and great narrative by the author. Alone with positives there were few negatives too.

I did feel their relationship was a bit rushed through the first few chapters but obviously since the plot was more about meeting after separation I understand why the authors had to hurry through it rather than build up the romance.

The main lead character was perfect as usual from the author. Simply charming and sweet (even when angry)

I found the self pity of the girl very annoying. Also it was very clear she had strong romantic feelings for Hunter and non near so for Chaise yet she is debating her choices! Like seriously 🙄

The situation to make Chaise a villain to make her choice "simpler" was pathetic. Like let the girl grow a back bone and choose what she really wants rather than hide.

Overall it was a sweet read.

Worlds best book award goes too.........

If any one of you asks me for my favorite book, then my answer was, is and always will be Wingless and Beautiful. And trust me on this, I have read 500+ books.

I LOVE YOU HUNTER VAUGH ❤.

Believe when I say that I read this- NO ate up this book in just 2 hours in a sitting and I have read it more than 50 times now, no kidding.

MY BOOK BOYFRIEND IS HUNTER. PERIOD.

Hes mine and only mine...okay maybe a lil bit of Allison's too. Hehe
This book always gets me out of my bad mood or sadness.

When people ask me for book suggestions, I don't suggest this book because I'm jealous and don't wanna share him-- which I know sounds ridiculous but I dont give a shit, I wanna keep him all to myself.
Okay, I guess I need to tone it down or I might sound a tad bit too aggressive.

Soon I'll be purchasing the paperback copy with my own earning which has been my dream for soo many years and which will also be my first expensive paperback. :)

I'm disappointed about one thing tho, I don't like the current naked guy cover on it. i liked the old cover which had every single detail starting from his smoldering blue eyes, flowers on scars amd even his hood. but that's not seen on the new cover. But i will somehow get the old cover picture printed out on the book. :(

if you guys have been reading this review till now, trust me when I say, give this book a chance and thank me later. :)

But make no mistake -- HUNTER is mine <3

Wingless and Beautiful is a blend of fairy tales and the realistic world. The story holds a fairy tale thread to its heart, which makes the reader to believe that beauty comes from heart. The characters Hunter and Allison, makes the reader to open their eyes and recognise the genuine beauty that radiates from within. The situations through which the love between the couple blossoms are indeed cute and romantic. It made me to take a moment from the race of life and appreciate the mesmerising nature and the silence that unclog your senses. The story also has a crust where the realistic world plays it role and bring in all possible challenges for the characters. All humanly emotions like insecurities, fear, possessiveness, selfishness etc are there in the story which aligns the story more to the world that the reader is familiar with. The story gifts the reader a hope and infinite possibilities life can have if an individual broadens their horizon to accommodate genuine beauty. The romance is indeed another one of my favourites which doesn’t have cheesy lines but deep emotions. The author hasn’t failed to meet the expectations from previous works. The characters drawn by the author has qualities that I want to adapt, which I appreciate a lot. Overall the book offers some quality time that can cheer you up and create a comfy feel.

A bit too cheesy, how many times is someone going to be referred to as angel, my angel this, my angel that, even the villain was referred to as angel at one point.
I enjoyed the story and writing style overall, sweet without smut. I have reread the authors earlier books and loved them still, Infact I reread intertwined after but yo chill with the angel. This book has the word angel 117 times give or take 2. I Counted!!! If you subtract the angel description which is not bad, Educational at the beginning of each chapter which are okay let's say minus 70 to be generous the rest is still too many times to refer to each other as angel. Author if you read this I really love your books, they're sweet and descent morally too. I still think about your characters of books I read years ago. Love love them, I loved this too. I just kept getting irritated especially towards the end with that word. Which could also be my own biased opinion btw. Love Jesus's angels, love angel as a nickname but don't do too much OK? Looking forward to your next read

The best thing about Jerilee's books is that they pull you out from your humdrum, skeptical existence into a mystical place where love exists. You will laugh and cry with the characters, curse and rant with them, and ultimately leave the book with a big smile on your face.
Wingless and Beautiful is about a lovely young woman Alice, who falls in love with a blind boy. The story unravels so beautifully, you won't be able to put the book down.
With Alice, you would learn to love and hope again.
The only complaint I have about this book was that I wish it was longer so I could stay in their world for more time.
Definitely looking forward to other books from this author.
Best always,
Sayali.

This book is so beautiful. ❤
It dealt with so many topics such as managing self-doubt, falling in love, dealing with heartbreaks and turning over a new leaf.

Hunter became a bitter man after the accident. He thought that there's no point in seeing again if he will be reminded of his loss and pain. I love how he changed after he met Alice. He found a new reason to live his life again to the fullest.

This story gives hope to everyone. It reminds us that there's always another chance for us in life. Don't let problems bring you down. Show the world that you are strong and beautiful.

Jerilee Kaye's books are amazing and Wingless and Beautiful surely didn't disappoint. I'm looking forward to her next books. ❤

So dang beautiful and heartfelt!!
This story absolutely captivates you and takes you through all of the feels. It is an incredibly well written, and heartstring tugging story about two teens with different but heartbreaking pasts and different "flaws" who find comfort and solace in each other.
This is a story about firsts...first love, first kisses, first dates, first heartbreak...
It is beyond beautiful in so many ways. From the general story and main characters, to the emotions and raw vulnerabilities they share.
As always, Jerilee captures our hearts with a seriously protective and swoony hero, and helps us believe in the magic of true love!

I’ve been in love with this book since its Wattpad days. I was devastated when this book got taken down from Wattpad because, yes, I’ve been reading this book on repeat on that app. Yesterday, after like a few years of living my life without this beauty, I finally decided to ‘reKindle’ my relationship with this book again (lame).

I, ABSOLUTELY LOVE that there are added scenes to this book compared to the one I used to read on Wattpad. Lemme tell you I screamed when I got to the additional scenes 😭💕

Finished the book in like a day and a half. Will I re-read it? Ugh, YES. A thousand more times if I could.

I enjoyed this book, I'll write a review of it because it is the only Jerilee Kay book I've read which doesn't go beyond a kiss. Though all her books are well written and morally clean if you go by two becoming one and they are always completely faithful to each other. I can't recommend most of her books to anyone who is not married but this one is good.
A bit of a pet peeve that all of her stories are about an excessively rich guy "who will go to hell and back" for the girl he worships in all of them, which gets a bit old. But over all, this is my second favourite after Knight in Shinning Suit.

One of my favourites. It really pulls at your heartstrings, you can't resist Allison and Hunter. This books covers a variety of topics from romance to abuse to learning how to cope with that trauma. It is very well-written and I fell in love with the characters.

It shows the journey of how a person with self doubt and loathing learns to accept and forgive themselves, how they battle with grief and shame and most importantly find themselves and love inspite of all that life has thrown at them. Would highly recommend.

Epic

Best book I've read in a long time!
The love story was beautiful.
I'm pretty sure I cried 90% of the way through the book, just goes to show how caught up in the story I got.
Would love just an extra chapter or 2 set 5-10 years down the road to see what their life would be like... but I think that's just me not being able to let them go just yet.
Also did not see that twist coming! Will not spoil for anyone so no details but it's rare that I read a book and not clue into those sorts of twists! So bravo to the author for that one👏👏

I read this back in 2014, when this story started as a promotional campaign for the movie The Fault in Our Stars (John Green's). When I found out that it got published in 2019, with a few changes in plots, I was so excited to read it again. Needless to say, I loved the published version more than I did with the first draft! However, the book is not without flaws; there are times when I catch myself cringing at clichés and overdone tropes, but I enjoyed reading it as a whole nevertheless. A guilty pleasure for sure.

Young adult series with very interesting MCs and POVs, although I would class this as 18 up due to mature content.

The book starts out Alison moving in with her aunt after domestic trauma. Alison then meets Hunter, a blind teen, and they help each other to recovery. Honestly he reminds me of Matt Murdock/Daredevil. The characters are well-developed and this is one of the rare stories where they are just doing their best rather than making insane or stupid choices. Except for the "villain," of course, but even that is explained in the end. Overall a good read.

If you love The Fault in our Stars, you will definitely love this. But this is soooo much better, in my opinion. It will make you cry... In a good way! Don't worry, this is all happy ending! But it gave me the same feels as TFIOS. The story is so much different and it ended very well. Sort of like I wished TFIOS ended like this. I would have been happier.

This story will break you, inspire you and make you fall in love over and over again!

Just read it! It so good!

but every guy needs an Alice as well.
these 2 are destined to be together.
i love how they made a connection at once.

My favorite way to break my heart

This book is absolutely amazing. I've read it a handful of times. Mainly on wattpad when it was still new. Anyone I knew who read on wattpad I suggested it to. Years later I still tell people about this book. This book is my favorite way to break my own heart and slowly fix it. I currently stayed up till 4am to finish this masterpiece. Definitely worth the but and the read. Just make sure you have tissues handy. -Rayne

I honestly don’t understand where all these 5-star reviews came from.
I’m a fan of Jerilee Kaye myself, but if you ask me, . Her other books are truly marvellous.

Basically, the story starts with the hero being blind. DMC meets him at her centre, and she also has her own past trauma. Both of them are teenagers at that time. Later, the hero gets his eyesight back, joins the same college, and doesn’t even recognise her.
and the reason is ....
plot na.

I've loved every single one of Jerilee Kaye's books that I've read so far. Regardless of the tense inconsistencies in the writing, the characters and plotlines are so amazing and magical that you can't put the books down. 4.5 💛💛💛💛✨
