For years, I’ve loved him. Not that I ever told him, or that he would ever be able to tell. I hid it from him…from everyone including my best friend. Travis Fillmore is my best friend’s brother and the object of my infatuation. He’s also my cohost for our home improvement show and we are zooming to the top right now. Unfortunately, I can’t work with him any more. He’s pushed me too far with his antics and I’m walking away. Only, he just realized how much he needs me on the show and he wants me back. He just pops into town and thinks I will forgive and forget.
At first, I don’t believe him, but he won’t go away. He tells me that he’s changed, that he can be professional. And I believe him. Until he kisses me…and then does a whole lot more. A night with him is a fantasy come true–until someone threatens our happiness. An overzealous fan…I can deal with that. What scares me is the man who could shatter my heart and leave me broken.
Warning: This book include breaking and entering, donuts, sarcastic friends, a woman with many trust issues, a man who doesn’t realize what he wants until he almost loses it, a weirdo who doesn’t understand boundaries, nosey neighbors, a trip to the Juniper Jail again, and a happily ever after for two people who finally admit they are in love.
This was beyond infurating, a dnf i did not see coming at all with all this good reviews so don't let it stop you reading it, it may just be me.
And it may just be me, but if there is something i HATE in books, specialy if they portray any kind of romance is the mistreating trope. Treating someone like shit just because you don't want them finding out you have a crush on them???? WHO FUCKING DOES THAT??? HOW IS THAT BS ROMANTIC? I T I S N O T I've seen this same stupid plot so many times and my question allways is WHY, WHY ARE YOU SO LAZY IN YOUR WRITING AND CREATING DRAMA THAT YOU RESOURCE TO ABUSE AS A FORM OF SETTING THE DRAMA TO RESOLVE OF THE COUPLE??
And, as i've said before, it may just fucking be me but i dont find atractive at all that the men you are supposedly crushing on treats you like shit, what do you see in someone like that? What sense does it makes to make the heroine fall for the hero if he was a prick?? Couldn't you actually make her dislike him at once like any sane person would instead of setting women in these books as sappy girls liking some dick despite the treatment she is subjected by him IN HER DAMN PLACE OF WORK. HOW IS IT NOT A BETTER PLOT HER JUST ACTUALLY NOT LIKING HIM AND, NOT BEEING ATRACTED TO THIS DOUCHE AT ALL? Because to me it sounds like it just the looks that carry all the weight here, if it wasn't looks, for the love of god, what tf did she like about him?
By the way, when he goes to win her back, it is because his show will fail without her?? Not because he takes responsability for his acts nor because he even realizes the consecuences of treating people like that, it just for his own convenience. He didn't even went look for her by his own merit, his sister put him to it, that's how much he SUCKED.
If you haven't noticed, i'm not a fan of the H in this book, but was even less of the h for how her infatuation was showed, this is not romance at all if someone is mistreating you and you use it as a form of creating angst just because "oh no, she can not know i like her", it sends an awful message and i don't like at all the books that use that overused, lazy, toxic narrative.
I'm giving this one two stars because I actually liked our heroine, Nancy. The only real fault I found with her was the fact that she was in love with the asshole Hero, Travis.
Nancy is Syd's (from the first book in the series) best friend. I loved their friendship and how they looked out for one another. Nancy works with Syd's brother, Travis. They have a home remodeling show, and travel the together, fixing up houses. While Travis had a huge crush on Nancy from the time they were teenagers, it took Nancy and Travis working together for her to really fall for him.
Here's the problem: Travis was a dick. Plain and simple. He's supposed to be head over heels for Nancy, but he finds a woman to hook up with in every town they are working in. I might have mentioned this in other reviews (okay, likely every review) but I'm over the manwhore trope. I want to see men that actually reflect real men. Men, believe it or not, have interests besides what's between their legs. Travis did not. His entire personality was that he slept around. Then, on their most recent shoot, he brings his flavor of the week to the set where he and Nancy are working. He wants them to hire the girl he's having sex with. And, on top of that, tells Nancy that this other girl could help Nancy do her job. UGH! Are you fucking kidding me? He stepped way over the line.
It's set up in the Camo and Cupcakes series that Travis and Nancy don't get along well. In this book, it's easy to see why. Travis is condescending and he treats Nancy like shit. His excuse for this? He's in love with her, but she doesn't feel the same way. And, by being mean to her, he can protect himself or some shit like that. It's ridiculous, and not at all flattering to a character who is turning thirty. This is some middle school grade stuff. Travis has the emotional maturity of a twelve year old.
Even after Travis realizes how bad he's messed up, he still thinks his hookup from their last shoot, the one who he insulted Nancy with, is a cool person and would do a good job working at the network. Like, I get that we don't need to demonize the OW, but adding a part where our H is sort of praising her? Nope. We didn't need that.
Nancy finally gets a backbone and decides she's had enough. Travis is told by the network (the one Brady owns, and Travis' sister Syd is basically Travis' boss now) that the show needs Nancy. People tune in to see them together, not to mention the entire show was Nancy's idea. At this point, Travis realizes that he needs to make up with Nancy. I wasn't crazy about that plot point. Travis was fine treating Nancy horribly, so long as she stayed working on the show. An argument could be made that Travis realized he would miss Nancy, regardless of the show. But we really didn't see that. There was a heavy focus on the show ending if Nancy left. And the fact that Nancy would still be successful without Travis, but it might not work out the other way around.
From here, it honestly doesn't get any better. I wanted Nancy to go out and at least find a hookup before her HEA with Travis. I cannot stand it when the H is out screwing around and the h is sitting at home pining for him. Fuck that.
I wanted to like this book. I had been looking forward to it since meeting Travis in the Camo and Cupcakes series. Enemies to lovers is totally my jam. But I need for the H to be someone who has at least a few good qualities before he and the h are on their way to happiness. Travis had none.
I hate that Nancy was wasted in this story, with this asshole love interest.
Between the zany LOL’s and hotties running around, the 2nd book in this series makes me want to take a road trip to Juniper Springs. The banter is hilarious and I really enjoy how Ms. Schroeder weaves the characters throughout the lives of Nancy and Travis. We get a healthy dose of Syd and Grady and I’m already looking forward to Jon and Josh’s stories. Nancy and Travis have chemistry. It took a while for them to figure out what they needed. The story was a little drawn out out at times. Just when I thought they would get together it didn’t happen. It was nice to see Estella has a heart. She is quite a character. Overall it was good continuation to the series. Nice beach read for the summer.

Friends forever and cohosts of their own show, Travis and Nancy have denied their feelings for each other for too long and the pressure of hiding has now pushed them apart, but with new threats against Nancy, Travis finds his courage to finally claim what was always right in front of her. I love the characters within this series which is a spin off from another series of Melissa's books. Strong woman characters with desires and strength to back them.

4 star review Love To Hate You (The Fillmores #2) by Melissa Schroeder
This is the second book in The Fillmore series and is Travis and Nancy’s story and was an enjoyable read. Travis and Nancy co host a home improvement show together and it is taking it’s toll on them both. Nancy has been in love with her best friend Syd’s brother Travis for years but is determined to keep it a secret. Finally having enough Nancy is walking away from the show and Travis. I did not appreciate Travis’s behaviour towards Nancy at times. I get he was trying to hide his true feelings for her but in my opinion at times he crossed the line. Trying to convince Nancy that he has changed and wants her back he crosses another line when he kisses her. This was a roller coast of a read with a great deal of miss communication. There was witty banter and time spent in Juniper Jail which made for some entertaining reading. It was great to see some familiar faces make an appearance and I look forward to reading more books based in this world.
Okay so I really haven’t read anything from Melissa that I haven’t liked. With that being said, this book is right up there in the top ten! Travis and Nancy’s story is so good, but you’re going to have to read it to find out yourself. I loved not only Travis and Nancy, but all the characters that make this book wonderful!! Great job Melissa keep them coming!!!
I needed to read this book! After reading a string of horrible romance novels, this book is exactly what I had been looking for—nay! Needing—in my life.
Ugh! Why do I love enemies to lovers plots so much? If you are like I am and love when the h and H start out fighting and then end up loving each other, you will LOVE this book! Travis brings in a lady friend to his and Nancy’s TV show, and the lady friend tells Nancy how to do her job. Travis executed that plan to hurt Nancy! Let us just say that plan did not go well for Travis to say the least. It didn’t only hurt her; she realized that she didn’t have to take that crap from him, so she left. I do not want to spoil the book, so you need to trust me and do yourself a favor by reading this book!
The writing is smooth and easy to read. The characters are well developed. The plot follows a wonderful romance novel formula with a HEA and no cliffhangers. Get this book now, and witness the perfectly angsty relationship develop between Nancy and Travis.

We’re back in Juniper Springs and there’s plenty going on to keep the LOL’s (Little Old Ladies) busy. Nancy’s had her fill of Travis’s antics on and off the set. Now that she’s set to walk away from him and their show, Travis realizes he’s about to lose more than just his co-host. Just as he’s determined to make things right, there’s someone else who’s after Nancy and not in a nice way.
This is a fun read with a touch of intrigue surrounding a potential stalker. There’s plenty of sharp wit, some snark, a bit of suspense, and just enough steamy passion to raise the temperature. The interactions between all the characters is highly entertaining. It’s especially amusing watching Nancy and Travis as they try to hide their feelings for each other when they’re the only ones who don’t know how they feel. It’s a storyline that is so appealing you’ll find it hard to put down.
Love to Hate You is the second book in Schroeder’s new series. Travis Fillmore and Nancy Howard are stars of a home improvement reality show. Nancy has had a crush on Travis for years. Unbeknownst to her he has had one on her but acts like a jerk thinking he isn’t good enough and that she doesn’t care! Having had enough of Travis’ attitude and treatment Nancy decides to quit the show. The old adage you don’t miss something until it’s gone proves true here! Not only does Travis try to get Nancy back by apologizing but throw in her whacky family, a marriage her grandmother want to a nutcase Not happening, a stalker and a bit of jealousy you get a great book!
Clear your schedule and start in early. You will lose track of time, sleep, and get upset when interrupted while reading this book. It is that much of a suck you in kind of book. Nancy and Travis were very interesting and entertaining to read about. I found myself laughing aloud and had more than one part I had to stop and share with my hubby so he could laugh too. Some very intense scenes to go with the laughter and a mystery you are trying to solve before anyone gets hurt combined to make s book that you do not want to stop. I felt like I really knew and understood the characters by the end.

It’s about time Travis and Nancy finally got their story. We’ve been following them for quite a few books as their friends hook up. Despite Travis being a total donkey’s butt he and Nancy are still best friends. And of course Syd is still there pestering her brother and over protecting her friend. Schroeder’s books are easy to enjoy, full of laughter and sassy comments, and spicy sexual tension. The only issue I have with this book is a bit of confusion over a last name. Travis and Nancy’s producer, who has been giving them some problems, has the same last name as Nancy. Despite that little issue the book was very enjoyable full of many highs and lots of laughs. I received my copy from the author and wrote my review voluntarily.
A little bit yikes, male lead is an idiot who treats female lead poorly because he likes her, like push her over in the playground style sabotage and it’s just unrealistic and hard to believe his arc, by the end you remind yourself that he was basically mean to her for like 2 years for zero reason and it just makes the romance HEA flat. I will say the spice scenes are pretty well done and I kind of liked the working together vibes, but we spend precious little time with both characters at work and the fact they were famous didn’t come off much, so I found it hard to buy into some of the events surrounding that fame. A little disconnected but a good premise.
Love to Hate You was an extremely inviting and entertaining story. That grabbed me from the very first page and never let go. Thanks to two genuinely likable and enticing main characters, and a strong storyline. That had real moments of humour, emotion and drama, as well as some serious chemistry. And with plenty of interesting and fun secondary characters, including the wonderfully named LOLs, this really was an enjoyable, well-written, and captivating story. That I would happily recommend and I'm truly excited to return to Juniper Springs in the future.

I absolutely loved this story about Nancy and Travis. This is a great afternoon read, so make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy the book. Travis has not been very nice to his cohost Nancy because he is trying to hide his true feelings for her. They are friends but they both want to be so much more to each other. They are afraid to ruin their friendship by starting a romance. Nancy, sick of Travis’s antics quits the show which spurs Travis to admit to his true feelings and the realization he wants to be more than just cohosts. I was given an arc. This is my honest review. I would definitely recommend this book!
Nancy’s feelings for Travis run deeper than friendship and she is tired of being undervalued both personally and professionally by Travis, so she decides to walk away from their home improvement show.
Travis is not only friends with Nancy, but she is his sister’s best friend. His attempts to not accept the feelings he has for her has resulted in him not treating her right and now he needs to convince her that he not only wants her back on the show but in his life. When you throw in a meddling family and a little suspense you are in for a fun time.
I LOVE THIS BOOK from the gorgeous cover to the very last page. Everybody knows that Travis and Nancy are hot for each other but Travis and Nancy. This frenemies to lovers tale will have you pulling hair, cussing and fussing until they finally figure it out then you’ll be wreathed in smiles and fanning yourself.
Travis and Nancy. A very good read although repetitive in places. This duo have been in the back ground of the Cupcakes and Camos series for sometime, This story was just as good, Looking forward to Josh and Ms Russo in the future.

This is the first book I've Melissa Schroeder and wow what a wonderful charming story with interesting characters and filled with warm and intense drama.

This story was fantastic! The characters had such depth and development that I didn’t want this story to end. The familial relationships in the story were intense, but they totally added to the dynamic and suspense of the story.
If I thought Sydney and Grady were hot together, they were nothing compared to Travis and Nancy. They have denied their feelings for one another for far too long. However when there is a threat to Nancy, Travis decides he is done denying what he feels and stakes his claim.
However, getting to that point there is plenty of drama and I will say I wanted to slap the crap out of Travis at one point. This was such a good read that I think I enjoyed it much more than the first one.
Travis Fillmore and Nancy Howard star together on a well to do home improvement show. Their relationship is much longer than a span that the show has been going. Nancy is Travis‘s sister's best friend and have known each other for many many years. Working together is natural for them. However curveballs are thrown when neither one of them can no longer deny what they feel for one another.
Travis’ head gets big and his attitude goes right along with it. Nancy has had it with the crap and quits the show. Only too late does Travis realize what the bigger picture of it all is, and set with a new determination not only to get his co host back but prove that she was so much more than that all along. The old saying goes “You don’t know what you got until it’s gone”, until you have a sister who is not afraid to kick you in the behind to make you realize it’s not gone but groveling will be necessary.
Nancy and Travis have a solid friendship and along the way it turns into so much more. Denial can only get you so far until you realize you might have just missed out on it all. Their bickering and dancing around one another is just a slow burn that is bound to explode. And they surely do. As they begin to acknowledge their feelings for one another Nancy discovers a stalker on her tail. And with that one thing, everything for Nancy and Travis changes. They may be watching over their shoulders but they know their feelings for one another are genuine, true and completely mutual. I loved visiting Juniper Springs and it’s corky town folks. The LOL are a riot. In its own weird way it felt like a home away from home. Ms. Schroeder gives readers an entertaining and slow burn romance with Love to Hate You. Well developed characters with charismatic personalities along with a fun setting, an entertaining plot line and some steamy romance more than make Love to Hate You a more than enjoyable read.
I love the whole “loved you for years” trope! I love that she is his older sisters best friend.
Sadly this one became pretty repetitive of itself and of book 1 without adding a ton of depth. She dragged it out a bit much too—
SPOILER — it took like 5 people telling them it was mutual for them (really just him) to do anything about it. Get your head out of your ass and grow a spine! Then what do they do? Jump into bed without a word, which is a pet peeve of mine. Like no wonder she doesn’t really trust him afterwards. Use your words!
Another pet peeve- when the author changes details from book 1. Ie here it says she and Syd have never talked about it but in book 1 they did several times on page…
The ending was obvious… which is fine. My big issue is that they all acted like idiots. There is 0 way SPOILER — that your security detail would let you go inside out of sight alone …with someone you got fired …hates you… has a history of harassment…. WHEN YOU ARE CURRENTLY BEING STALKED and THREATENED. It should have happened differently, like him breaking in or something. She might be dumb enough to be alone with him but not her fancy security people.
AND why would the author give him the same last name as Nancy? That was weird.
Most of their ‘fighting’ was in book 1- here it was all off page. I thought the groveling was a bit over the top and repetitive..
Overall I did enjoy the story and liked the characters and the funky town setting!
I read the first book in this series and I would call these two books a duet. The first was Hate to Love You which stars Syd and Grady, he runs a tv station and she works for him, this is Love to Hate You, and it stars Travis, Syd's brother and Nancy, her bestfriend. Both Nancy and Travis have a reality home designing reality tv show on Grady's network so he is their bosses. This story really starts in their book and continues here with their side of things.
There are more stories in this series and its connected to the authors other series, but these two books together stand alone. I would say read the 1st one then read this book. Can it stand alone, maybe, but you will have missed a lot if you don't read the first story. In this story Nancy is DONE with Travis and she quits the show. He comes running and wants her back, as his friend and partner.
This story is very much a friends to lovers, 2nd chance at love storyline and even unrequited love storyline. I adored this story, every moment was fun and pretty wonderful and while I wanted to throw things at Nancy and Travis I fell in love with their characters.
There is a bit of a stalker storyline in this story and well it was not a huge mystery IMHO, but none of the characters had a clue and that made it kinda fun too.

Travis and Nancy starred together on a reality TV show called At Home which was conceived by Nancy and featured her as the designer and Travis as the builder of home renovations. They originally just flipped houses together, but when Travis's sister went to work for a conglomerate which owned TV networks, they got an audition and a show...it was doing very well in ratings, one of the most popular shows on television....but Travis was always popular with the show groupies and had several affairs, but what neither would admit, was that were both in love with the other...Travis compared all his conquests to Nancy and the other women were found lacking, and he was the younger brother of her best friend, so figured she would never go for him...Nancy was tired of being the butt of the new producer's inappropriate jokes which he put Travis up to, and the last straw was when Travis's show gold-digger wanted to say her designs were better than Nancy, she had enough and refused to come back to the show...besides she was in love with Travis and got tired of always seeing him with skanks...so now he had an ultimatum from his sister Syd to get Nancy back or the show could end...but you will need to read this cute story of friendship gone wrong before they can figure out how to get their love on track...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Love to Hate You is the second book in The Fillmores series and is the story of Travis Fillmore and Nancy Howard. Travis and Nancy have known each other since they were young children. Nancy has and is still best friends with Travis's sister. Let's just say that Travis has treated Nancy like a bratty younger sister and was not really nice to her. That started when they were young and it still continues to today. The only thing is that they are co-stars in a successful home improvement show. They do play off each other well which helps to hide some of the feelings and attraction they have developed for each other. But when Travis' head gets too big to fit through a doorway Nancy has had enough and decides to quit the show. This ends up being the kick int he azz that Travis needed to realize his actual feelings for Nancy. The problem now is that he is going to have to win her back and proved that he is serious about her and them together. However, at the same time there is a stalker after Nancy and then things are really taking some turns.
This is a fun, entertaining and well written book. The story-line is a nicely developed friends/enemies/lovers with a couple great characters, even if you want to box Travis' ears more than once before he kicks his own butt into gear and gets his lady.
Juniper Springs. Melissa Schroeder takes us back into the world of Juniper Springs for another fun read!
L.O.L (Little Old Ladies)... Check! Meddling from L.O.L... Check! Stalker... Check! Best Friends Brother... Check!
Nancy and Travis have known each other for years. Since Nancy is best friends with Syd (Travis' sister,) the two have more than a work connection. It doesn't help that they have had secret crushes on each other for years. But their feelings cause them to guard themselves and it has Travis acting terrible towards Nancy. This has Nancy making decisions that affect their work relationship and her future.
But Syd wasn't going to let that stand. She pushed her brother to fix his ways and to make sure Syd didn't walk away from him altogether.
Since Nancy & Travis were first introduced in Camos & Cupcakes, we wanted to know their story. And this was definitely a fun read. From the Little Old Ladies keeping the gossip going to protecting a friend from a stalker... They all played their part and it helped bring out the depth and fun within the story. Love visiting this world and I look forward to more!

I have to be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to this book, yet I knew I would read it. The reason I wasn't looking forward to this one was that we saw in small glimpses in the last book, what an ass Travis was to Nancy, wasn't sure that I could get over that, thought Nancy deserved someone better. It definitely colored my thoughts and how I felt when reading this one. I really had a hard time buying into the romance, that these two could be a couple, despite each of them having a crush on the other for years, despite each of them dating other people while having these crushes. Because honestly...why would you keep dating other people when the one you want is right in front of you. Also, why didn't their friends say anything to either of them a long time ago, they all knew about Nancy and Travis crushes, sort of makes me think they had bad friends. Even Travis's gesture with the network didn't make me like him any better, Nancy deserved that at the very least.
By the end of the book I was glad to be done with it, never did warm up to Nancy and Travis as a couple, loved the town and the LOL's, liked that Nancy was able to resolve some things with her Grandma.
Right Time 4 stars - There is so much lost time! All because Travis and Nancy each have their separate reservations and insecurities. But it is the right time. I’ve first encountered Travis and Nancy in Hate To Love You (Book 1) so I was familiar with how Travis’ behavior was hurting Nancy. For me, there was a bit of repetitive explanation of this in Book 2 but I do understand that if you haven’t read Book 1, the explanations will help a reader understand why Nancy left the show. I do admire her character for leaving the show. I love the author’s writing style and am always on the lookout for her books. Travis and Nancy’s book is no exception. The plot is good. The background on Nancy’s family members is intriguing. There is a bit of suspense and mystery. There are a few hilarious characters and I would love to read more about the people of Jupiter. The steamy sex took a while to happen but be patient because with the danger in the plot and the attraction build-up, it is worth it. The emotional connection between Travis and Nancy is evident. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
