This book helped my husband out in building a great chicken yard fence back in 2006. But, now we are done. As we age, we are looking to downsize from this 10 acres one day. I see he is not into fence building anymore so this book will head on out to Goodwill. (5/26/2021).
"Fences for Pasture & Garden" provides good detailed information for those with the strength and grit to actual complete this kind of work. My respect for folks who install fences for a living went up greatly after reading what it took to build a good quality fence. This book taught me that this is one job best left for a professional.
We needed to build a fence for our horse. I had a lot of questions about what was the right kind yet cost effective fence for a horse, how far apart the rails should be, how a electric fence charger worked, how to build corner braces, etc. This book answered all my questions in a clear manner. If you are thinking about fences, this is an excellent choice.
Good book, IF you're a handy person, which I think is the target audience. For the not-so-handy, you will need other books and/or help from someone who has more experience.
