Ronan Michaels is fine as aged red wine. I’m talking wavy, chestnut brown hair, strong chiseled jawline, prominent shoulders and rugged ivory skin kissed by the sun. His silver eyes are enough to make any woman swoon. All the women wanted him, but he chose me… “his rarest, precious Ruby of them all.”Our wedding day was like a classic fairytale. Ronan, my gallant knight, made me feel like an African Queen. He made me feel beautiful, sexy and oh so desirable. His silver gaze held me captive from the beginning. Even now, when it feels like the end, I remember gazing into his eyes filled with promise as he vowed his love and devotion to me for a lifetime. I believed him.Secrets and lies have a way of destroying lives and marriages, and making what was once a happy home miserable and unbearable. My secrets…my lies cost me a price I wasn’t willing to pay. Who would’ve ever thought our happiness and love for each other would end up at this point? Not me, Ronan’s sweet Ruby. I never would’ve guessed my best days were behind me and I have only myself to blame. I’m in for the fight of my life… win, lose or draw. This is a re-release of Billionaire Wives Club.

This is the second time I am reading this story and I thought that since it went off of the market it was being revised. That wasn't the case. I love Ruby as a character, I feel as though she is strong and loving. A person who has and would continue to sacrifice herself for the people she loved. With that being said, I despise Ronan. If we are talking about a love story, then there was nothing in his actions that indicated love. To be honest he was loveless, everything he did was in disregard to his wife and made me hate him more. He is a supposed billionaire with power and money, but he couldn't find out what was wrong with his wife? A man in love would want to know what happened to make his wife change, right? He would investigate first and foremost to be 100% sure that his suspicions of her cheating were correct. But he didn't. He jumped right into the assumption that his wife must be cheating and what didn't make sense to me is that, if that is how he felt then why not confront her? Instead he would go and sex down his mistress and then come home and put the same mouth that he had between his mistress legs on the mother of his children. It was disgusting and his character repulsed me. Not to mention the many times he said that Mist( mistress) was so much better than his wife or how she reminded him of his wife. His character was so disgusting. I mean how do you compare the mistress to the wife while telling the mistress she is so much better than the wife? I found that to be unforgivable. Because to me, he constantly thought about his wife but was making the mistress seem like she was a better version. If he felt that way he should have left his wife and let her move on and be happy with someone else. I doubt a person like Misty would remain faithful, given that she had no respect for the relationship he was already in.
At one point he came home and had sex with his wife all the while thinking about Misty, and to me that's when I was done with him. I loved the writing and these authors are super gifted. I hope that the next stories are mended to show Ruby being powerful or Ronan really making a change. Because this was not a love story. Nothing that Ronan did showed that he felt remorse at what he was doing behind his wife's back. He was uninterested in understanding what was wrong with his wife. I thought that was strange for a man supposedly super in love with his wife and family. Even more so if his wife was pulling away. That wasn't in her character and he should have been concerned that something was wrong with her.
And though Ruby lied, her reasoning seemed more than just when she found out her husband did the EXACT same thing that her father did to her mother. I believe cheating is a conscious choice. If Ronan was unhappy he could have told Ruby he was unhappy and wanted a divorce. Instead he cheated on her repeatedly, emotionally abusing her trust of him. He treated his family second fiddle, like he was more concerned with his mistress than to finally have time with his wife and kids. A wife who I believed deserved the benefit of the doubt. Ruby was a virgin when she met him, and yet his automatic response is that she is cheating? Had she given any indication in the past that she was a cheater? No. She hadn't. So that's what makes this story so frustrating because he was selfish and he doesn't really love his wife and kids. He needed his ego stroked to be happy, he needed sex to be happy. Instead of trying to understand what was going on with his wife he sought out someone else. Then compared that despicable person to his loving wife. A woman who was pure of heart and gave her body to him, not just in sex but to have his children. This is not a lovable story. It makes you hurt and hate that he is so weak and disgusting and she is so weak as to forgive the unforgivable. I'm not saying that he can not be redeemed but if the story line continues where even after he finds out his wife has cancer and he still cheats, then it's not a love story. It can't be. Because that isn't love. People make mistakes but when they do they should understand that, that mistake is never to be repeated. Period.
The lie that Ruby told was not equal to the emotional abuse and sexual abuse and disregard from her husband. He put her body in danger by not only putting his mouth on someone he barely new but also his thang inside someone he barely knew. All the while potentially transferring a deadly disease to his sick wife.
I really hope that the next installment changes and shows a man who will fight for his wife and family. A man who understands his wrongs and learns to be a man and own his consequences. If that means Ruby leaves him and dates, so be it. But it should show him wooing her and trying to win her back. A man who sees the disease in a mistress who was willing to be with another woman's husband. I hope he sees that that woman is not worth a cent of his beautiful, faithful and loyal wife.
I wil! not be reading another instalment of this book. How can a character be so low down. You can't even say he did what he did because of his wife's actions. He was already attracted to the "other" woman before they started having problems. This is not the kind of stories I'm interested in reading. I'm very disappointed in these authors. I couldn't even finish reading this book.....smdh
It's a no for me. Flow was ok. Characters, romance was underdeveloped. To be honest I'm not a fan of interracial cheating stories. I abhor cheating. I can read AA fiction for that. Plot could been so much better without it. It was a cop out to me.

My opinion is going to be different than others who left a one-star review. I HATED Ruby!! You see she was the cause of her marriage disintegrated. That's right I said it! While I don't condone cheating, what the hell else was Ronan supposed to do? They took vows for sickness and health, right? Well, Ruby negated that when she decided to keep her cancer a secret. She willfully let her husband go to that business retreat knowing what she knew. Had a secret surgery behind his back, did not tell him the truth when he begged repeatedly of her to tell him what was wrong. She was warned by Shauntay over and over, that she was messing up her marriage. When does Ruby shoulder any responsibility for her stupid actions? I get she had baggage and issues, however, she never gave Ronan the benefit of the doubt in the first place. She was okay with telling her friend about her illness. But not the man who loved and was devoted to her? Ruby didn't have any right to get angry when her husband strayed. She set the course for that path. And even if her husband was attracted to Misty, he took a while to act on it. Even when Ruby tried to seduce Ronan and then blanked out on him. He still pleaded for the truth and to learn how to fix what was wrong. What does this stupid woman do? push him away and start an argument. She got mad when they went a function and he basically ignored her well whose fault was that Ruby? Her hot and cold got old very quickly. Then at the same function, she started a beef with Serenity, Shauntay's other friend. Why? Becuase Ruby was a self-righteous hypocritical martyr!! Her pride and paranoia didn't make her a strong black woman that most of these reviews were praising her as. It made her weak and stupid, she threw away a good man! Who packs their kids up in the middle of the night, takes them away and make them miss school in order to punish her wayward husband? Who writes a supposed heartfelt letter to husband's mistress telling the mistress about the cancer? But still not being honest with her husband? Then in the letter, she was by turns pleading for him back and saying the other woman could have him. I felt no sympathy for Ruby. Only anger and pure disgust. This book was pure trash. Not interested in reading the sequels. Or anything else from these authors, chunks of time went missing, so many grammatical errors. This book was a hot mess!
I can't believe he never realized anything was wrong with Ruby. Of course he thinks with the wrong head. Typical man you would think after the amount of years he's been with his wife he would know her better. He supposedly loved he so much
There is nothing wrong with the story. The writing structure is fine. There is cheating in this story, but that’s life and not why I will not read the next two installments. I dislike Ruby on so many levels. Not excusing Ronan’s behavior but she is a piece of work. Her reasoning skills are dumb and she continues to hold on to her secrets even when they have the opposite effect of why she had the secret in the first place. Then she writes the other woman a letter 🤦🏾♀️ No Ma’am! She did not make vows with you. I hate when the blame is laid at the other persons feet. She owes you nothing, not loyalty, not respect, and not fidelity. Your spouse owes you that and that is the only place you should direct your questions, anger, and heartache.
I'm so pissed off right now that I'm not sure if this review is going to make any damn sense. How in the actual fuck does a man of Ronan's caliber not try and figure out what's going on with his wife?!He's worth billions, but couldn't hire someone to find out Ruby's secret?! For the majority of the book, "my wife is my world!" yet your bitch ass gave up on your marriage and slept with the first random thot that came your way?! UGH!!!!! I can't stand people like this. Figure shit out BEFORE being weak and cheating on someone who's been nothing but faithful!! I refuse to read the next book because I barely made it through this one. I almost made it through the year without crying over a book. Almost.

Obviously a well written book cause I’m vex!!!! What an asshole Ronan is. I can see why this book got negative reviews because you rarely read books where there isn’t a HEA but this book leaves you angry but I’m intrigued to continue on
Firstly I would like to say that Ruby made a great mistake by not telling her husband Ronan about her Ovarian cancer; which led him to cheat on her with She-devil named Misty Crewe! This was a great read and so true to life when people in a marriage don't trust their mates to be there for them through sickness and health. I pray that Ruby and Ronan will put God back in their marriage and get back the trust and love they once shared.
OMG! When I finished, I was in tears. Ronan and Ruby picture perfect marriage in shambles ! I wished that Ruby had just opened up to her husband and told him of her diagnosis. To assume that what happened to her mom was her ultimate doom. Ronan assumed she was having an affair which unselfishly led to him partaking of one. My feelings were all over the place. I can't wait until the second installment! I was left on the edge of my seat. Ruby's "Dear Barbara" letter to Misty was a tear jerker. I wanted to just slap the taste from Ronan's mouth. I felt like there could have been a lil more understanding. As long as they had been together, he should have known his wife better. The lines of communication were definitely severed and would take some working on. My biggest concern were the kids- Yasmine and Benedict.
The beginning of the story was misleading, but in a good way. I felt initially that the story was about a forbidden office romance. The story was much more indepth. A story of how a supposively unbreakable bond could be betrayed and destroyed through secrets. A journey on restoring a precious relationship. A good read.
This book was a good read, but I truly detest cheaters! All I can say is secrets and marriage do not mix.
Ruby and Ronan were inseparable until she is diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Ruby's mom died of breast cancer and when she was diagnosed, her father left her mother alone to die. That childhood scar caused Ruby to keep her illness hidden from her husband.
Ronan was once an attentive husband, even knowing her cycles down to the day. You would think a man that knew this much about his wife could tell that she was sick. Lost in his own selfishness, he assumed her unwillingness to have sex was a reflection on him.
Of course in his mind the only reason his beautiful wife who had never done anything but make him happy was cheating on him if she wasn't having sex with him. He had a one track mind, even when it was clear that she wasn't herself.
When he returned home early from a business trip to find her in bed asleep and the kids at her friends house, that should have been a red flag, but all he could think about was his carnal needs.
Eventually a selfish man will stray to fulfill the needs he thinks he isn't getting at home. Truthfully, he would have strayed anyway because of the way he reacted to the hoe on the plane ride home. This was well before Ruby started acting different towards him.
I was angry with Ruby for not communicating with her husband about her illness. but a better man would have noticed that his wife was going through radiation treatment. If he would have paid more attention to her instead of sulking about not getting any things may have turned out differently. Sure three months is a long time to abstain from sex with your spouse, but if he really loved her like he claimed he would have gotten to the bottom of it and kept his junk in his pants.
He certainly should never have turned to another woman for comfort. When he told that trick she could work for him as his assistant I wanted to stop reading. I honestly skipped the parts of the story when he and his mistress had sex. I did not want to read it. My heart broke for Ruby. When she found out about the affair I wanted to cry. This story had my blood pressure up.
I wanted to slap the taste out of Ronan's mouth. Yes, Ruby lied about her illness but he needs a foot up his oblivious cheating behind. You notice your wife's hair is thinner and she looks tired yet you yell at your kids and disrespect your wife? I hope they can get the original love they had back but a man who suffered from his wife's change in attitude for a month and he chucks 10 years of marriage like an idiot makes me want to hit him and I have zero respect for him. This behavior is why she did not confide in him. Eye roll but I have to read the next installment.
I felt the raw emotions of both Ruby and Ronan.. This story was well written. The plot was so believable and real. The author accurately wrote what happens when communications break down in a marriage regardless of the reason. An affair not only hurts the offended partner but radiates out to the children and other family members and friends. The damage is done, can the family and marriage be repaired? It's a long and hard road back, if ever!
It just as good as it was the first time. The best part is that it's believable. The small things and big things that unseemly need to be talked about but aren't will truly ruin a relationship.
Try as I might, and I did try, I couldn’t find anything to like about this book. Not the inane premise. Not the sophomoric writing. Not the h who irrationally, outrageously, against all good medical and bestie advice, betrays her husband and children by self-indulgently keeping grave secrets she had no right to keep as they adversely affected them all. Even when she actually sees and acknowledges that, predictably, it’s destroying the trust in her marriage and imperiling their family unit, she persists. And that’s why the wafer-thin excuse contrived for h’s nonsensical choices lacks credibility... bc even when she sees her self-indulgent behavior is creating the self-fulfilling prophecy of his unfaithfulness, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 the baseless reason she feared would drive him away, she doesn’t show remorse and change course. Instead she literally says Oh well, if we’re meant to be, God will fix it later!!! Riiiight. 🙄 Way to shift responsibility for the consequences of your self-destructive lies onto God, lady. Yet when ish hits the fan, we’re supposed to pivot, join in her self-righteousness wrath, and feel sorry for her. Nope. Sorry. No can do. In God-speak “You reaped what you sowed,” you TSTL feeble-minded idiot. And last but def not least — not the so-called H. Sure, he was repeatedly, inexplicably pushed away, lied to and gaslighted by h in every way for months. But the writer made him painfully, unconvincingly, stupid as well. Things weren’t adding up for him, he noticed physical symptoms like hair loss, fatigue, loss of appetite, uncharacteristic apathy & moodiness, even insisted she see a doctor for 2nd opinion... yet he couldn’t do the math, regardless of her denials that she’s fine? Couldn’t do the digging earlier when he knew she was lying that he did later when she takes the kids and leaves him?? He certainly should’ve known his wife well enough after all her years of love, devotion and great sex-on-demand to not make his immediate leap to “she must be cheating” based solely on “she’s hiding something” plus loss of interest in sex. And that was really his biggest, loudest complaint—the drop in sex. He seemed a might too eager to turn to another source of it. We’re talking a couple months without it vs all their years with it. So their first big hurdle after all those perfectly happy years and suddenly this great guy who loves his perfect wife soooo much, easily condemns her, and is effortlessly tempted to get it elsewhere. And once it happens—overnight his personality is so unrealistically altered, it’s like the character underwent a full lobotomy. The level of his betrayals... it’s no impulse dalliance... mystifyingly he’s immediately drawn to OW the way he first was to his wife, discusses wife w/her, invites her into his daily life by hiring the out of work flight attendant as his secy, fantasizes it’s her during sex w/wife he’d supposedly been missing and yearning for just last month, and remorselessly professes his love to her. Just, WOW. His infidelity knows no bounds. All compounded by his now vindictively hateful manner towards h, shouting at the kids, even after h turns the corner and is gung-ho for him again, he dresses up and leaves the house late at night to go to OW as wife tries seducing then begging him to stay. His sudden OTT transformation into complete utter POS is clearly to manipulate reader into now siding with h, ie sure she made bad choices that set it all into motion but she doesn’t deserve 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴! Poor woman just kicked the big C, we’re supposed to think. Well, sorry, it’s poor, lazy writing and, for me, didn’t succeed. Not even close. It did succeed in almost making me DNF. I pushed through just to see if the story or characters could be redeemed, only to find a cliffie. So it’s a rare 1-star for me.
The storyline was too thin for my taste, and the heroine was too weak in a stupid way. No much character development of the couple - they just meet, fell fast in love, marries and then it's ten years later with two children - there are more pages are dedicated to Ronan and Misty's interactions. What Ronan did was really bad and maybe unforgivable, also he should've done some more detective work, but I feel what Ruby did with all that lies and not talking to her husband was equally bad. Ronan tried so many times to talk to her, begging her to tell what's wrong and that they need to be honest and communicate in a marriage to make it work, and even her best friend told her that she needs to tell him - by the way, she was okay to tell her best friend but not her husband? I understood some of her reasons and felt bad for her in beginning - being scared and so on- but then all that every day lying to her husband and her stupid stubbornness to not talk to him become just too much and annoying, it gave me an anxious headache. Also, a cliffhanger for a book that's like 145 pages? Ugh. I so dislike stupid heroines, they are the worst!
These two. Oh boy, these two. It was just so unnecessary!! Ruby, open your mouth and trust your husband. Tell him, he is begging to be included in your life and knows something is wrong. Baby girl, you live in Miami…THOTS run Miami. You just gonna let your man out at night like that?
Ronan, ah man what a let down. You seemed like the perfect man and then…flight attendant THOT smh. I get it, your wife of 10 years stopped being the same person you knew. But come on dude, you couldn’t be faithful for 2/3 months?????? Wow. And not only were you not faithful, but you went and caught feelings? Disrespectful to the max.
I personally wouldn’t be able to get over that level of disrespect, but then again I wouldn’t have kept my illness from him. But I understand this is a book and we have to get an ending, so here I go to see what happens next

Roman decides her tiredness, aloofness and disinterest in sexual intimacy is because she is having an affair...so, he begins a sexual affair with hid assistant. Didn’t like this sad story of deception and secrecy. (less)

To the woman he loves, by Theresa Hodges is contemporary love story. When reading the excerpt I thought I would be a good fit for me so I downloaded it. The story begins with Ruby who lands an internship at a billion dollars construction firm where she meets her handsome boss Ronan. Three chapters later it’s their wedding day next chapter it’s 10 years later. As I read I thought I was having blackouts there are so many gaps in this story and a rushed storyline. There is no character development or build up so when we find out what going on with Ruby you just say oh well! Then comes the misunderstanding from Ronan view...only to find out that it a three part series. Not that good for me to continue this series.
This "man" has got to be one of the most disgusting cheaters ever written. Forget the infidelity because the wasn't enough. The things he did with her, said to her should only be done with his wife. For shame to the people excusing his behavior as her inability to share what was happening with her with him. He made a vow. If he wasn't having his emotional needs met, like the toddler he is, he should have left her, not disrespect her in such a foul manner. Then, the side chick didn't know how to maintain her lane and violated the wife. No man permits his wife to de so dishonored behind her back and to her face.
It will take a lot but I am willing to try other books by Theresa, but if this kind of character emerges from her creativity she will be on the "list".
Ok I was really happy that I decided to read this book but let me tell you when people are going through some really big decision in their marriage rather it be physically or mentally they really need to communicate with one another and not assume the wore or be quick to jump to conclusions. I'm so upset with Ruby for not confiding in her hubby but I'm extremely pissed with Ronan for being so stupid and doing what he did. Cause let me tell you if I saw my husband doing what he did I would've smack the cheap out of him and cut that heifer he was with! Hey just saying. Looking forward to reading more.
It's a good read. I was glad they got together. But I don't agree that it's Ronan's fault they're separated. Ruby was wrong for not telling him about something as serious as cancer. What if the other therapy hadn't worked? Ronan would have been devastated because she was selfish to not tell him. She shouldn't have lumped in wuth her dad without even giving him the chance to react. She pushed him away. Ruby has no right to be angry because he sought comfort somewhere else. She kept pushing him away. No. I say he shouldn't feel guilty about sleeping with someone else. Ruby should be asking him for forgiveness.
I definitely rate this book a strong 4 because I personally hate cliff hangers, but all in all the story had the right amout of suspense and drama to keep me tagging along for Ruby and Ronan's story. I would recommend this read if you are lover of romantic drama. The friendship between Ruby and her bff hit the mark, the bff was supportive but chastised when necessary. I don't wanna give the story away but I absolutely loved this book.
Spoiler alert!! This book has cheating. Personally I don’t mind but if that’s sensitive for you, you may want to skip this one.
I loved this book, cheating romances are a guilty pleasure for me. I know very well how good people can still be flawed people. Ruby messed up when she chose to keep her husband in the dark and Ronan messed up when he cheated on his wife. They both made mistakes and they were both at fault. Let’s see how they get back from this
