Another great book from Ms. Harris. I'm loving these Bandits almost as much as her HOT boys.
Colton has wanted Angie for a while, but she's skittish since she got kidnapped and he got shot. Perseverance on his part wins the girl. There's some action and a bad guy to catch along the way, plus some hot times. I loved his secret, never saw that one.
Can't wait to see which Bandit falls next, but I know it won't be Ian yet. Can I say I like Ian better in the HOT series, than this one. He's too nice with his own team. I like the snark and secrecy with Mendez and the HOT boys.
Black Out by Lynn Raye Harris is book Three in the Black's Bandits Series. This is the story of Colton Duchaine and Angelica Turner. I did feel you could make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Angelica hasn't had it easy with a past kidnapping and then some bad relationship choices. So when Colton enter her worlds she tried to protect her heart from him by being standoffish which is in her character becomes she is somewhat shy. Colton has been attracted to Angelica from the start but knows his job as a mercenary is to dangerous for such a innocent women. But when Angelica's life becomes in danger both have to move past their feelings of trying to keep away from one another to totally become involved to keep her safe. Enjoyed their story and hope to read more from this author.
I haven't read the previous books in Black's Bandits as yet but when I gt the opportunity to read this I jumped at it! Ian Black is such an enigmatic figure through all the HOT series that I knew this series would be awesome and I was not disappointed.
Colton is a former Marine, now working as a mercenary with Black. He's a killer but after he was shot Angie got to see him as an injured man, weak as a kitten. She felt so much guilt over what had happpened to him that she pushed their attreaction away. But now she has some problems through work after an iffy account landed on her desk.
Now there are people after her and Colt is the only one who can keep her safe.
Absolutely amazing couple. Colt has all sorts of hidden talents! Angie is no slouch, she is no badass but she can and will stand up for herself and shre refuses to be left out the loop. I loved the gift she received from the crew, I let out a snort of laughter at that.
Oh my goodness I think this is my fav one out of the Black Bandits. I’ve been looking forward to Colt’s story for so long and it definitely did not disappoint at all! The tension between Colt and Angie has been building up literally since the first book in the series and finally getting to dive into it? Yeah, pretty dang perfect.
It helps that Colt is a pretty dang perfect man. So sweet and caring and understanding (man what is it with these mercenaries and being sweet, perfect gentlemen?)
One thing I really liked about Colt and Angie’s relationship is how they literally date for a majority of the book, so we get to see them learning about each other and just slowly(ish?) falling for each other.
For the past two books we’ve learned that Angie has been avoiding Colt, but every now and then giving him a little piece to remember, like when she kissed him on New Years in Brett and Tallie’s book. And in this book, we see Angie’s though processes and see her decide to take the jump and talk to Colt (thankfully).
Angie also had quite the character development from being a fragile, afraid girl who was kidnapped, to being a badA in this book.
Much like with the HOT ladies, the Bandit girls are also forming their own little group, so we get to see Maddy (obviously because she’s Angie’s best friend) and Tallie. We also see some little updates about Jace and Maddy and their house. Tallie and Brett were in Germany furniture shopping for a little bit of the story but Brett came back to help Colt.
This book was honestly so freaking good and I’m sad it’s over, but now I’m gonna jump into Jared’s book, which at the moment is the last book! Thankfully September 21st is almost here for Mal’s book, and then Ian’s book is here in January! I’m also excited to see more books from the Bandit crew.
Another intriguing, fast paced and engrossing suspense thriller by Lynn Raye Harris. This is the third book of the adventures of the men, and women, of the Black Defense International team. Well trained mercenaries who, despite their reputation, always try to do right. This latest installment follows Colton Duchaine, French American BDI operative, as he realizes Angelica (Angie) Turner is the woman for him. They have a history and although this is not a second chance romance, it is certainly a chance at love. Colt feels he must prove to Angie he is a good and trustworthy man. Angie must overcome her past hurts at the hands of love and the fear and pain she lived through during the rescue mission when she met Colt. Through her job, Angie is drawn into a situation that raises suspicions of corruption, money laundering and the Russian mob. Her casual connection to Colt is heightened (along with their friend's match making skills) when she sets off warning bells with Colt with some passing comments about a "wonky" account. Turns out it isn't just wonky, it's dangerous. Colt's steadfastness and charm woo Angie, her determination and intelligence win his heart. Now if they can just survive black outs, unscrupulous criminals and the Russian mob they should be good to enjoy life.
I am really enjoying this look into the men who work for BDI, Ian Black's mercenary group. In this book we meet up again with Colt and Angie who we met originally in Jace and Maggie's story, Black List. Jace is also employed by BDI. Angie was with Maggie when Colt and Jace rescued them. Angie has been guarding her heart for a few years due to a bad break up and was keeping her distance from Colt. Now she finds herself in need of his help when she is in danger with things that arise with her work. Colt has been keeping his head down and working, thinking his job is too dangerous to get involved with any one. Soon the two are spending time together and getting close while Colt is protecting her and trying to find out who is after her. This book was such an entertaining read and the chemistry and passion between Colt and Angie is so great. It was the perfect balance of mystery and intrigue with romance and trust. Wonderful HEA. This is another wonderful read by Ms Harris and I can't wait to read more about Black's Bandits.
Angie knew Colt from a previous situation with bad guys. Her best friend and the man who was now Maddy's along with Colt saved her friend. Still, she wasn't comfortable with him. Thought he was hot and dreamed about being with him, yes. When she ended up on the threat end of the relationship and he became her protector the fear of being with him passed at least.
She had some information on a client. The books didn't match or balance and it wasn't just a simple error. This was more and not a mistake. The "client" wanted to shut her up and find the evidence and he'd do anything to accomplish it.
Protecting her was Colt's job and she was his to protect. Job or not he would keep her safe until he didn't. Now he was going to get her back. Would she be alive when he did? Would she forgive him for letting it happen?
Another good series from the author with hot heroes, bad guys, strong women, and loyal hot teams. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
When a co-worker of Angie’s goes missing, she finds herself assigned to one of his accounts but trying to reconcile it is proving to be not only difficult but dangerous.
Colt is a mercenary who not only shares a past with Angie because of his last mission and he would like to get to know her. When he finds out she is in danger he, along with the team, are determined to keep her safe.
Due to her past Angie is cautious about getting involved with Colt but who can resist a man who not only cooks, looks after you when you’re sick, cleans and let’s not forget sexy. Colt wasn’t sure that Angie was prepared to handle the stress of his job but when it is was important, she showed how strong she really was. I can’t wait to see whose book is next in the series.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, suspense, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Black List (Black's Bandits #1) Black Tie (Black's Bandits #2)
This is Angelica and Colton’s story. Colton is a mercenary and does not need to take on an innocent. Angelica is an innocent. He wants her but knows he is not the right man for her. But when she is in danger and needs protection, he steps up he knows he will do anything to keep her safe and alive. Will he be able to let her go once he has her or can he really have her forever if he can keep her safe?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.
I just finished reading yet another fantastic novel by Lynn Raye Harris! The name of this incredible read is BLACK Out. It's the third book in Lynn's Black's Bandits series.
Colton Duchaine is a hardened mercenary who has killed many to keep this country safe. He loves his job, but when Angelica Turner's life is in danger, Colt finds there might be more to life than duty to country. He will do anything to keep Angie safe. The only problem is keeping his heart from falling in love. What does he do? Can he still keep Angie safe, or will misfortune prevent him from completing his mission, and finding love? Go grab a copy of BLACK Out today, and find out for yourself.
Congratulations, Lynn Raye Harris on another fabulous, well written novel! I say this after reading every single one of your books, but you knocked it out of the park!
Black Out is another great book in the HOT Heroes for Hire series. Lynn Raye Harris did an awesome job writing this sweet, sexy, suspenseful story. Angie is about to find of that curiosity can get you in trouble. being a little too good at her job sets her on a dangerous path. Fortunately Colt is there to help her. BDI takes her in, and they solve the mystery around Angie’s work. Colt is a hot, protective alpha, and he falls in love with Angie. First the BDI guys have to take it the bad guys. That is always entertaining. Colt saves the day, and Angie accepts his secrets. Then you get an awesome happily ever after. I can’t wait for the next book!
This is my first book by this author and also the first book in the series that I have read, so I jumped in a little blind. However this did not deter me and it did not take long for Angie and Colt to have me captivated by their story. A book full of intrigue, suspense and love. Angie is a character with plenty of strength and Colt is the man that wants to protect her and love her all at once. This fast paced romance is one full of passion, mystery and it will have you gripped to the pages to the very end. After reading this third book in the series, I am heading back for the first two books as I am now addicted to the Black Bandits.
Another great book in this awesome series. Angela Turner doesn't realize it, but her life is in danger. Colton Duchaine is a mercenary and a former military badass. He has wanted Angela for a long time and has been biding his time. Angie's best friend Maddy is married to Jace a good friend and co-worker for Ian Black who runs Blacks' Bandits. Colton is trying to keep Angela safe but has come up against Russian Crooks. This book is one of hardest I have ever had to put down. It is addictive. I highly recommend this third book in the series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Colton can speak French to me and cook a five star meal for me any day! Whew! No wonder Angie fell head over heels for him.
I haven’t read anything in this series yet and wish that I had because there were a few things I felt I was missing but I will be remedying that immediately.
Angie and Colton are acquaintances with a sizzling chemistry. When Angie finally gives into Colton her life starts to get dangerous. Obviously he steps up to protect her and would keep her with him at all times if possible.
This book moves quickly at times and will keep you on your toes. It’s definitely a must read book and author.
Ian Black's Bandits are tough on the outside and renaissance men on the inside. Take Colt for instance, the man cooks, cleans, speaks multiple languages and knows his wine. Hmm, where is Ian hiding these men? They know where to find their women too. Angie works a boring accounting job when she stumbles upon an odd spreadsheet. Thankfully she knows the right good guys to help. You know, all this beating around the bush with Ian's team just makes me excited for his story. Something is up with Ian and Natasha, their story will be epic. More to come for sure. I'm always thrilled to get an early copy, review was written voluntarily.
When I can and I come across this author's novels I adore reading her offerings. This happened to be one of those times. This was a bonus also because it was a second chance at a romance along with the suspense and romance. This centers around Angelica and mercenary Colt. This would also seem to be what they think of themselves as opposites. Danger comes a calling on Angelica's door with Colt gonna keep it at bay. As this unfolds we come undone as things go a different way then thought or planned. This author does a wonderful job in keeping us guessing on all sides of this one.
Another great read. Wanted to keep reading more. Love this series. Love love these characters. Love Colt and Angie. Very romantic on how Colt takes care of Angie old school. The women in this series are always so strong and very resilient. This series is just another way to emotionally invest in Ian Black. Can't wait for his story. Can't wait for the next instalment of Black's Bandits. A must read.
Another fantastic book by this author! This series just keeps getting better and better. Colton is a mercenary that kills to keep his country safe. And Angela doesn’t realize it but her life is in peril. Colt will do anything and everything to protect Angie. This story is a real page turner that had me up until the middle of the night wanting to know what happens with Colt and Angie. Can Colt protect Angie without his heart becoming involved? Would he even want it to? I can’t wait for the next installment of this awesome series!!
This is the 3rd book in this awesome series and is Angie and Colt’s story. Colt is a hardened mercenary who finds out that Angie is in danger and is determined to protect her no matter what. This is a beautifully written story which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend this talented authors’ work for all.
Wow! This is unquestionably awesome! I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. The writing is superb. Angie and Colton are hot together. Colton is sexy, alpha and loyal. Angie has had some rough times but she’s survived and came out strong. She’s a mathematician and Colton is ex”military and now works for Ian Black. I love this series and can’t get enough of it. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another fabulous book ... Colt and Angie story is pretty remarkable. Colt is all about Angie and he wants her but he also wants to protect her. Angie has no idea what she has gotten herself into or what can come of it. Can Colt keep her safe or will it all fall apart? This book will definitely keep you turning pages and wanting so much more. Can Angie and Colt get there happy ending or will it all fall apart?
HOT Dog!!! This series is already amazing and Black Out just adds to mix. What an amazing accidental adventure you are taken on in this book. Lynn Raye Harris knows how to add the perfect mix of falling in love with mafia, spy, and hero all together. Black's Bandits are the best guys around, even if they are killing, hunting and catching all the bad guys around the world. LOVE!!!
It was good and I will always read these books. I liked both characters and enjoyed the story it was missing I think the connections with the other team members that the hot books have.
My favorite of the Black's Bandits books thus far. Angie, the heroine, was a terrific character! And Colt Duchaine (protective stud that he was ;) ) knew it and appreciated her for who she was.
This was another fantastic installment into the Black's Bandits series that I had a hard time putting down once I started reading it. I've been waiting for Angie and Colt's story since the start of this series and I got my wish.
Angie, shy and not confident after being cheated on and then having a client try to force himself on her, has an attraction to Cole. She also harbors some guilt about Cole getting shot when she was abducted by Calipso. She is an accountant that has been working on some accounts of a peer but unfortunately the accounts are not adding up and as the more things that do not add up, the more danger she finds herself in.
Cole, operator for BDI and friend of Jace met Angie a while ago. He has had an attraction to her that he waited patiently for her to come to turns with and the more time that they spend together, the more that he wants to protect her when the danger increases in her life.
The chemistry between the pair was palpable and I enjoyed that while she was in danger, she remained a strong character. I also enjoyed the return of the characters from the previous series as a means to catch up with them.
This book can be read as a standalone read as with all of the other books of this series making it easy to follow along with the series if one enters the series from any other point than the beginning. I was hooked on this book from the start and would recommend it and the others. I also look forward to seeing what happens next in this series.
Black Out is the third book in Lynn Raye Harris’s Black’s Bandits series. I must say, having gotten to know Ian Black and his bandits in the HOT books, these books are not what I expected (so far). I enjoy Lynn Raye Harris’s books for the most part—the writing and storytelling always pulls me in. But, like book 2 (Bret and Tallie’s story), a few things just did not work for me.
Book 3 tells Colton/Colt and Angelica’s/Angie’s story. Colt and Angie met in Jace and Maddie’s book and were attracted to each other at first sight. Angie, however, carries a lot of baggage from a past failed relationship. She additionally has trauma related to being groped by a client and kidnapped by Natasha (Jace’s sister). So even though she is attracted to Colt, she decides to avoid him for two reasons: 1. His job—too dangerous 2. His handsomeness—too similar to her ex-fiancé So, unfortunately for Colt, Angie is not interested in getting to know him. Colt has been pining for Angie throughout books 1 and 2, and in this one we finally get their story when a project Angie is working on places her in danger.
Now, it is known that redheads are vibrant, feisty, and do not take nonsense from anyone. Angie, for me, did not live up to these character traits. She came across as hesitant, reserved, awkward, and bland. And, like the previous FMC’s (Maddie and Tallie), Angie’s character did not have much to give aside from being Colt’s love interest. It sometimes feels like authors do not invest too much time developing the FMC, and Angie was another example of that.
On the other hand, Colt and Bret from book 2 could have been the same person as far as I’m concerned. Although Colt had a different backstory—and a slightly less bland personality—they were essentially the same person. Also, having now read three books in this series, I must conclude that, although the MMC’s are presented as alpha males, they are more beta than alpha. Yes, the protectiveness attribute is there, and they are in the saving-the-world business, but I just don’t see them as alpha; they are too sweet, too patient, too accommodating. And I suppose that is fine but, like I said, unexpected.
The spice in this one was low as well, so it didn’t even have that going for it. At least Angie, unlike Tallie, did not repeatedly throw herself at Colt. Fortunately, their situation was different, and although Colt definitely wanted her, he allowed her to do things at her own pace. I suppose that’s a plus, but it did not do anything for the romance aspect chemistry-wise, and the heat level was definitely mild.
Other than a few proofreading issues (not much) the storytelling was good but slow-moving at times. I will continue with the series because my ultimate goal is to get to Ian’s story—I just hope that he will display more alpha male characteristics than what I have seen thus far.
