The App #1

Daddy Kink

Rate this book
Why was finding a Daddy to meet his needs so hard? Could a kink app be the answer to what was missing from Scott’s life?

Scott Rainsford is a gentle soul, friendly and hard working. He loves his job as a waiter in the critically acclaimed restaurant La Trattoria Di Amore. On the outside his life looks perfect, but Scott is lonely and craves to meet the one person that will give him what he needs.

Can The App be the answer?

The App offers Scott the freedom to search for the Daddy he has always dreamed of.
It also gives Scott the choice to choose the one man he’d never have expected to want to be his Daddy.

But nothing is simple, a first time Daddy, a broken lift, a phobia and past mistakes make for the perfect stormy start. Can two men, who seem worlds apart, go from enemies to lovers, and meet in the middle?

This is an MM gay romance with Daddy kink, spanking and enough steam to strip paint from wood. With two men that are too complicated for just one book. Warning this book is an HFN.

Scott and Luke - 5 stars

I want more! I’m sure they have more to tell. Scott and Luke were so adorable.
I can’t believe I already finished it.
Such a delicious story. I loved the flawed personalities, the trembling hands, the uncertainty and hesitation.
Scott is a friendly hardworking guy, a waiter in a restaurant. He has friends and colleagues but he is lonely.
He’s looking for a Daddy, and the kink app the App, may be useful.
When his number one on the list reacts positively, they start to talk and after a while he has a date. A hotel room on the sixteenth floor of a beautiful expensive hotel. The anxiety starts to peek already.
In the lift, the nightmare starts to get real. A stunning but unfriendly man towering next to him in the lift makes him tremble and then the lift breaks.

Ahhh what a delicious story, full with feelings, endearing, hot af and a perfect Daddy/boy couple. I loved the bubble, I loved the scenery and I loved the spanking.
My heart melted for them with all their strong emotions. The whole picture was just awesome!
I hope there will be a continuation, I can’t get enough of them.

3.5 “I really did like most of this” stars

I love the cover, Daddies and manties so...win win win!

This was a sweet, short, “enemies” to lovers / insta-daddy romance. I liked the premise and the setup and the sex in a lift. Most importantly I really liked these two men. There were some great moments of vulnerability, even if forced by circumstances, between these two that has me wanting to read more.

What I didn’t like was the totally unnecessary “miscommunication” at the end. I don’t think it was needed in the slightest, and brought this from a 4 star to 3.5. I mean, come on...

I have no idea when the next one is out but I want to see where these two go from here. (Please no more miscommunications!!!)

This so didn't work for me. It felt shallow, cliché, unbelievable and so very predictable at the same time.
I've marked this as containing spoilers because I'll summarize the story for you, but honestly I'm not revealing anything that the blurb doesn't mention and you can see it coming from a mile away anyway.
So Scott is looking for a Daddy through a kink dating app and his anonymous date turns out to be this person he knows in reallife, who he is dreading because he's mean enough to make him cry but he has a secret crush on him anyway. They meet in a hotel, because Logan is the manager there, and it's a really classy expensive but old building. Scott takes the elevator although he is claustrophobic because who wouldn't, Logan happens to meet him just as they enter the cabin and of course they get stuck. This seems to be a regular occurence but still takes over six hours to fix, because you know, really high end hotel. Anyway, Scott's panic can be overcome by spanking and sex and while there Scott and Logan tearily share their childhood traumas because that's the obvious thing to do in such a situation. It finishes with a stupid misunderstanding because although Logan has assured Scott that he is in it for the long haul - who wouldn't after an experience like this - Scott doubts him as soon as he is out of sight. Promise of a punishment for that in the future, happy end.
I feel like I've made my point.
Two stars for a funny tune and fluent writing style - this could be something if there was some effort put into plot and character development.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This book found me at my lowest- I wanted a Daddy really bad and I wanted to register on an App. So when I saw that there is a book about an App and it's about daddy kink, I was screaming 'holy hell', and started to read in immediately!

Sadly, it wasn't what I thought it would be. I hate this kind of instastory. No story behind the characters, no emotions and no spark between the characters. And don't get me start on the sex scenes - sorry, sex scene! Because it had only one! And that one was really a joke. I love exhibitionism, and I think nothing is hotter than an elevator scene, and I say it that I hate being trapped in an elevator! But this! I could only laugh and laugh because it wasn't good.

Sorry but I really wanted more from this book and I got nothing. It had so much potential, and that elevator sex would be the most amazing thing ever, but not. I'm sad about this book.

The beginnings of love

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book but after reading it I want to see more Scott and Luke. Their relationship is going to be hot, sweet and I bet with Scott, a little bratty. They both have lots of surprises in store for the other and I can’t wait to see how they unravel.

A wonderful story with great chemistry and sweetness between the MC's. Scott and his mystery daddy have the most delicious enemies-to-lovers vibe going on, and it was such fun to see them move on from that to a caring daddy/boy relationship. Loved how the author wrote that! I also really liked that the daddy is a newbie to the lifestyle in this story, trying to find his way. It gave the character a lovely vulnerable touch.
My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that the story ended too soon. It's basically a HFN, and we leave the MC's before they truly get to start their relationship.

I really wanted to like this more. The concept was interesting but the story went by so fast it felt like a summary of cliched characters. It had bits of tragic backstory thrown in but it still didn't endear me to either MC. Also the misunderstanding was so unnecessary.

This was a cute story, I just wish it was a little longer but I’ll definitely read the next book to see more of these guys. Scott was adorably sweet and just wanted someone to take care of him. Luke is trying to be a better person and hopes to also find what he is looking for.

It was a quick, nice read but it just left me wanting more.

I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

I want more Scott and Luke! Loved them together. Enemies to lovers, heartaches, and struggles in their personal lives make them very human. Finding each other and embracing their desires and kinks to find their happiness takes courage.
Reading the continuation of their story in Flamingo Bar book 1 next.

Sexy novella about a boy looking for a daddy. Once he finds the perfect daddy, will he walk away when he finds out it’s his least favorite customer?

I enjoyed this, but the epilogue was a little disappointing

I loved Luke and Scott's story

Matt Haynes did an amazing audio delivery and narration.
I liked how he gave the characters their own distinct voices.

The storyline was engaging and compelling and the characters were likeable and well fleshed out.

Overall an enjoyable listen!

This was cute and I’m a sucker for books where the characters initially meet online or in this case, on an app. The kicker is that when they met, they actually knew each other IRL and they weren’t exactly on the best terms...

Scott works at a restaurant and Luke has been dining there for years. Apparently he was an asshole to Scott previously and according to Luke’s POV, it was because he was immediately attracted to him. But Luke had a boyfriend at the time, someone who was also dominant and who Luke was ultimately unhappy with because he felt he was a Daddy. Lots of family drama from that one, but yeah...

Anyway, Scott and Luke download “The App” (yes that’s the actual name of it) and end up talking to each other without knowing exactly who they are. When they end up meeting up, they coincidentally get stuck in an elevator together and that’s where they find out their true identities. They both get over that fact pretty quickly and have some sexy time in the elevator while being stuck for hours.

...that’s basically the end. Which would normally be fine because the rest of their story is promised in another book but it’s actually a whole different series I guess?

Also, there were other characters in the beginning that obviously had their own story - Richie and Sebastian & Adam and Carl. They were both from a different named series as well. I like to read in order so I felt out of sorts because the relationship of those 2 couples is already established from the other books. But that’s just my hang up and I’m weird about things like that...

Still, I enjoyed it. Probably would give a 3-ish ⭐️ rating for this and I may or may not continue the series, but I’m not that excited to start it right away.

Scott and his search for a Daddy (an audio review)

Ah, poor Scott. He has a good job. He has loving parents. He has decent friends. What he doesn’t have is someone to love. Someone to love him. Someone who will treat him with respect. Someone who will nurture and love him. Someone to be his Daddy.

There are plenty of Daddy kink books out there, and this one fits in nicely. It’s part of the Playroom world which I love, so that was a bonus.

I empathized with Scott. Oh, I’m not looking for a Daddy, but I do understand the desire to not be alone. Have I looked at apps? Sure. Not like the one Scott downloads, though. With encouragement, he puts up a profile and finds several Daddies to reach out to. One hits all the right notes and after extensive discussions and negotiations, Scott agrees to meet Daddy L at a hotel.

Now, there is one man who makes Scott’s life miserable and that would be Luke. I think you can see where this is going. So when they wind up in a lift together, the pieces start to fall into place and the men realize they’ve been communicating with each other. So is the online attraction enough to overcome their real-life animosity?

Well, when the elevator breaks down and the men are forced to spend several hours together, things get interesting.

I’ll leave my review at that. The book definitely has an HFN and I know there’s a subsequent book and I’m heading that way now. I’ll also mention Matt Haynes who is a good narrator who is doing well in Ms. Sayle’s world. Off to the next…

Two men finding their match through The App

I so enjoyed this! You have two men from different backgrounds and with differing wants/needs who, through the use of an exclusive app, can find someone suited to their kink. In this case, Daddy kink.
Scott is not at all jealous of his best friend being engaged, ok maybe a lot, but he just wants his own daddy to care for him all of the time, not just the bedroom. Lucas is coming to terms and accepting who he truly is after dealing with a bad breakup that left him struggling for a little while. The App allows them to search for possibilities without truly putting themselves out there, yet. When texting leads to a meet up, the two men are in for a surprise along with a bit encounter in an elevator.
I love Scott and Lucas, they both draw you in and tug on your heart for their own reasons. I was rooting for them right from the start. Though this is billed as an enemies to lovers romance, that was really before this book so we only recount through the memories of the MC's. The two are hot together and you can really feel the chemistry between them.
There are a couple of characters from JP Sayle's other series, La Trattoria Di Amore and The Manx Cat Guardians, that have good and not so good files to play but I was so happy with how things played out for Scott and Lucas in the end.
Definitely left with a HFN but it's satisfying and I look forward to what comes next for the duo.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey books and
Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

Damn this story was hooooooooooooooot!!! Don't think I've seen a sex scene in a lift before!! And I loved it.
This was exactly what I've come to love about JP's books - it was sexy, sweet, loveable and kinky.
Scott who we first met in the series La Trattoria Di Amore finally gets his own story. And he was exactly how I thought he'd be. He's so adorable.
Luke we first met in the Manx Cat Guardians series and in that it was not a nice character. Somehow JP made me not only forgive Luke but I really liked him. He came across really vulnerable in this book and i'm looking forward to learning more about his Luke's past and his headspace.
Loved Luke and Scott first get together - the unknown/hidden identity worked really well for them. It would have been tough to find a way for them to have got together otherwise - Luke was such a dick there was no way he would have broken through with Scott.
I liked that Luke was a newbie daddy. Don't see that very often in Daddy Kink and daddies have to start somewhere.
This was a HFN and I'm very intrigued by what comes next for these two and hope they get their HEA.

Maybe I should have read the description before I started to read the book. But to be fair I was intrigued by the daddy and the age gab, so I thought the book was for me, turned out I was wrong.

The layout for the story is actually ok. The archenemies becoming lovers, that could work, however its a bit thin in the description when you read the book.. You only get that Luke was rude to Scott when he was at the restaurant where Scott works. The story, or the sex, takes place in an elevator and that's kind of it, there is a bit more story before, but sorry not much.

I like a story with development, where you get the full story and not just bits and pieces thrown in randomly when it fits. The lace thing is not really my kind of thing, but I won't fault the author for that - thats on me. More story and less sex would have made the book a thousand times better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to sex in my romances, but when it takes over the story I kind of get bored (no matter how hot it is).

One star only from me, some might like it better than I do, great for them. I'll be sure to read the description next time.

A short, but absolutely delightful “Daddy Kink” MM romance with an “enemies to lovers” undertone & a fantastic start to a new series. There are character crossovers from other books but the reader is kept fairly well-informed & will not feel lost. The characters have good chemistry with some vulnerability & insecurities but do develop somewhat throughout the story-line. I found the plot well-written & interesting with some unique situations.
There is: a popular waiter but a rather lonely young man (Scott aka SassyS) is looking for a daddy & turns to an app & meets a daddy (DaddyL aka Luke) who turns out to be his least favorite customer, mischievous friends, some drama, mild intrigue, snarkiness, secrets, strange attractions, confrontations, disbelief, accusations, seduction, some steam & a HFN ending. I enjoyed reading this MM romance & look forward to future book from this author

Both known to each other...

at the same place but just can't connect until both join The App. Scott is a waiter
at La Trattoria Di Amore but he is quiet, withdrawn, and reluctant to share his kink.
He needs a Daddy to understand and accept him. Luke Sawyer is abrasive, obnoxious,
and totally mean to Scott. But that is just his surface. Underneath, Luke is as confused
as Scott as to he's attempting to figure himself out. His father's influence had impacted
his life for so long that he couldn't remember anymore who his true self really was.
He wants to be a Daddy but his mind is muddled by pressure to be something he really isn't.
Both discover The App website, both join; Scott is SassyS and Luke is DaddyL. This story
is part of the series The Playroom. I haven't read the other books in this series but now
I'll be getting ready to. This is a book I was very happy to read and willing to give my
voluntary review of the the ARC I received via Bookfunnel.

I am officially impress... this book also set in the world of The playroom series, is amazing. Not only the author created very complex and emotional characters that tried to be themselves to get the opportunity for love in their terms but also put a lot of personality traits for each one of them that made everything more difficult. I spent great part of the story struggling with Scott and Luke in their doubts and miscommunication until the epilogue. It was an interesting experience because this is a short, and it is not what you would expect in a short. The plot has a Daddy / boy kink, hot scenes and a tiny bit of romance. This app offers a lot of opportunities for future stories.... I truly hope this to be just the beginning.
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the enemies to lovers story of Scott and Luke. Scott is a waiter at a high end restaurant and one of his coworkers tells him about a kink app that matches people with similar tastes. Scott wants a Daddy who wants someone who wears lace and silk. When Scott starts messaging a man and they both are interested i meeting. Luke is a customer of the restaurant and known as being difficult. Luke has noticed Scott before, but thinks Scott hates him. Luke has had some personal issues that made him hard to be around, but he realized this and has been trying to be better. When they meet, things don't turn out quite as planned, but are still surprising. I liked this story. I liked Scott and Luke together. i think they were both exactly what the other needed. i wish there was another story featuring them in the future. Well done.

The App: Daddy Kink by JP Sayle. I am on the fence on how I feel about this book. I think I would like to see where this story goes in the future, not sure how I feel about the ending. I did know it was HFN just sometimes you still just are not prepared for it.
Scott is a gentle soul. Friendly and hard working. Loves his job, but he is lonely and craves the one person to give him what he needs.
Daddy L or Luke. New to being a daddy. Straight to the point. This can sometimes come off as cold to me. I get he is new, but I felt he could warmer personality.
I liked the use of the App. That was a very modern take on getting to know someone in a more personal way. I would like to see where this story goes in the future right now though, I am on the fence I sorta like this one and sort do not.

This sexy novella was so much fun to read!
Scott and Luke have been interested in each other from afar for years, but Luke’s upbringing and barriers have made their interactions so unpleasant, Scott is convinced Luke hates him. When Scott downloads The App, an app catering to kink, he establishes an immediate connection with DaddyL, who seems to have anything Scott looks for in a daddy. Setting up a date to finally meet after weeks of online texting and teasing will prove to be both men’s surprise of their lives…
I really liked this story a lot, the chemistry is off the charts and the steam was level 10! But there’s more than good old smut, a deeper connection that I hope will be explored, since the books ends for a HFN.

I picked this up from a prolific works offer.
The start is great and a little unique to what I've encountered so far. I love the flirty text messages between the two but neither knew who they where responding too. Dislike to lovers, manties, chemistry and hot scenes in unusual places (not telling) The ending was a tad rushed but I like to see what happens next for them.
Note this has a small cliffhanger Happy For Now ending to continue in another book.
Scott worked as a waiter at a restaurant. Looking for a Daddy his perfect Daddy was hard until Sawyer told him about The App. Who who'd win his hearted be the perfect Daddy Dom.

4.75* only ‘cos their story isn’t finished.

JP Sayle has created a wonderful expanding world, it’s not essential to have read her other works but you will have a fuller, richer experience if you do.

This book is a brilliant addition to this world, Scott a waiter from La Trattoria and Luke his nemesis meet using The App, in this enemies to Daddy/boy story. The pair are gorgeous together, have great chemistry, are so hot with plenty of dirty talk thrown in. If you like your stories with a little bit of kink then you will love this story, which I hope continues in another book.

Sometimes my curiosity gets the better of me, when the guys at work were quietly checking out their phones I just had to know what they were up to, they introduced me to The App, a kinky hook sight. With much deliberation and a little help from my friends I messaged a few Doms but DaddyL was the one that drew me in, as his SassyS we just hit it off, now I finially get to meet him and see if spending time together can be so much more enjoyable than just messaging. Really enjoyed this fast paced well written book what a fun read!

Love daddy kink and this was no exception, Jayne’s story was beautifully written, fell in love with Scott immediately, Luke took a little longer but when they got together it was awesome loved the intimate hot scene and can’t wait for their story to continue.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I absolutely recommend this book.

This was an awesome start to hopefully many more books. The App:Daddy kink we meet Scott and Luke, who are two very different people but both have a kinky need that the other can fulfill. Scott wants a Daddy. Luke is a Daddy who wants a boy. These two have interesting time getting together. I am truly not the biggest fan of HFN, but I really liked this book. Very much a worth while read! Love this author!!
