Things were never supposed to end this way. I didn't have plans to fall for the hottest guy in school and I certainly didn't think he would dump my ass in front of everyone either with no explanation. Nada!
Weeks go by as I tend to my broken heart. Fine, I say. I'm so over him. But is he really over me? Is there something he is hiding? Something Queen B is hiding?
And then the new guy shows up, making everyone's head spin on its axis. Wes Collingwood. Tall, lean and abs like a damn washboard. When sparks fly between us, heads turn and secrets become unravelled faster than I can keep track of. I honestly wanted my senior year to be drama free.
Yeah, nope. That is definitely not happening!
Authors Note: Madison Falls High is a young and new adult highschool bully series. It's book 2 in the series and does end with a cliffhanger. It is recommended for +17 readers because of cursing and 'certain scenes' So if you're into that kind of thing then stick around.
This is the same review that I posted for the first book in this series:
I'm rating this one a 3.5 out of 5 The theme of this story is bullying, but once Chad, the school hot shot, falls for Sophia's natural beauty, etc., etc., Sophia turns a blind eye to her boyfriend's entitled, bullying behaviour (poor Truman!). Ironically, she actually enjoys having Chad order lowly freshmen around on her behalf, and even makes fun of Truman herself.
I was liking Sophia as a character up to that point. She was her own person and did not bow down to peer pressure - that is, until she started dating the king of the school. The second book in this series had some continuity issues. Very disappointing after such a good beginning, but this author, who can write a decent sentence, ended up chasing all the usual YA tropes. Plenty of F-bombs and J.C.'s all over the place, so if this bothers you, stay away. I read the first two books in this series, but will not bother to read the third one, where Callie finally gets her comeuppance. (Sorry, that blackmail plot was a bit too far-fetched for me.) Also, the author tried to make us feel sorry for Callie at one point, but then turned on her own character and made her the Black Witch of all Time. As I said, continuity issues spoil an otherwise acceptable New Adult level story.
Firstly I don't know whether my age played a part in how much I just could not get on with this book. I love high school romances usually and it's my go to for an easy read but at 28 I'm thinking this book may have been suited to more 16 year olds.
The first book was okay, good enough to make me want to read the second at least. The female lead was feisty and had attitude in the first book, I felt this all fell apart in the second book. She became a bit of a sap and it was really frustrating to read. I ended up skipping big chunks at a time just so that I could see how it ended.
I can't see me reading the third, there was also a fair few editing errors with spelling mistakes etcetera. I always suggest people giving books ago as everyone has different tastes. Unfortunately this just wasn't a series for me.
I really enjoyed book 2 of Madison Falls by Kylie Walker. A lot of bullying goes on in high school these days and it gets harder for the students to deal with. In this story it was pretty bad when it affects not only the student but the parents and friends. Here it also was a female who wanted revenge for something done to her. A spoiled little rich girl who had to have it her way. So you wanted to ruin not only one family but two. Then the guys who loved to race their cars have a feud going on and he tries to ruin the others life but destroys his own by his actions. This book has a lot of drama, some tragedy, it’s sexy, entertaining and it’s interesting. I am waiting to read the third book to see what the author has next.
I actually got through the first book, which, in fact, surprised me! SPOIL ALERT—
Sophia is an A- List jerk, no better than Cassie! She speaks her mind but when she realizes it gets her in trouble she denies doing nothing wrong! Claiming she can protect herself, she leans on other people to help her proving that she obviously can’t... When her friends give their opinion after her asking for one, she says and I quote ‘I have always been my own women and won’t let anyone persuade me.’ Even though she knew that Chad had a background on being the school man whore, she wonders why he dumped her! I am sorry if the last information only applies for the first half, but I just couldn’t get past the whole book!! If I could, I would put 0 stars! DO NOT RECOMMEND!
OH MY, what an explosive book. The drama really hit the fan in this one. And if you read the first novel you know most of it by now. Don't read out of order or you'll definitely be lost. The romance, the drama and everything in between is very probable in the real world. Sophia has had it with Chad's attitude and ignoring her. Now if only she could get him to talk. But that easier said then done. Even his friends won't talk to her. Well not all, but what can she do when she's been played by the guy who she likes in this big rich city.
Clash is the 2nd book in this series and it will keep you enthralled. If you haven't read book one "Collide" you need to stop reading this one and start from the beginning. Its definitely worth the read. Clash starts where Collide ended, you have your mean girls and your players and everyone has an attitude. Girl gets dumped by hot guy for no reason nurses broken heart and finds new guy and even more secrets. Talk about your emotional highs and lows. This book will take you through your paces and bring you back for me.. Love this series can't wait for the last one...
First thing.........READ SERIES IN ORDER!!! If you don't then you will be completely confused since this book takes off where book one ended. Definitely head the author's warning. It does end on a cliffhanger (and a good one too.)
Read this book to see what happens when Bullying goes too far, livelihoods are endangered, secrets are exposed and relationships are twisted. Expect betrayals, deceit, love, chemistry, and high school drama at its best.
Love these books the plots flow well and the characters, although a little cliche, are well written. You feel K Walker has actually put s lot of effort into the planning stages of this book. I know (believe me) so YA High school bully romances books can come across very juvenile and not well written. Although the Madison Falls series of books have s lot of the usual tropes. That are still enjoyable reads. Five stars
Wow, this next instalment of Madison Falls High is filled with everything one would experience during your High School career❣️I could not put this book down and admittedly, watching the drama unfold was suspenseful and kept me on my proverbial toes😍
Can’t wait to see what happens in the final book for this trilogy and these characters who are slowly working their way into my heart❤️
So after I read book 1, I stated in my review that I absolutely hated Chad's womanizing character and that it made me not want to continue the series...
I take it back. I am really glad I continued, as there was so much more to this story than I thought!! The story kept me reading, and I cant wait to read about the fall of Callie in book 3. Ha!
Whew! What a whirlwind romance. Sophia believes she has seen Chad's true colors when a new guy rolls back into town. Little does she realize the tangled web she is entering. All her friends seem wishy washy about things between the guys but eventually she finds the truth and is now preparing for the next big event. This book also ended with a cliffhanger.
An amazing and a captivating storyline. Book 2 has Sophia in the middle of Chad and Wes, arch enemies. Sophia must deal with all the angst and drama that keeps coming at her. You’ll be happily turning the pages. I definitely recommend this book and author. I’m looking forward to Book3.
There were some things answered, but it seems like we've got another wrench thrown into the story. I don't like how desperate Sophia comes off regarding her and Chad breaking up, but yet she still acts like she's independent? Again, the plot is engaging, and I want answers to it, so I'll read the last one.
This second book was more ya. It was well written and went deeper into characters. The story was fast paced and ended in a mild cliffhanger. Once I started reading I didn't put it down.
Enjoyed every bit of this book! I knew the fight between Chad and Wes would get crazy! No one messes with chad’s girl! Can’t wait to start on the last book! Would definitely recommend!
I enjoyed the first book in the series but this one just wasn’t interesting to me. I usually love YA books but this one just seemed so childish and like it was a bunch of 12 years olds. I don’t think I’ll be reading the 3rd in the series.
This is too fast paced and heroine acts as if she is intelligent but continues to make silly decisions and the follow on from the last book was too abrupt not a smooth transition
Sophie is hurt by chad so she lets her head get turned by Wes. She finally gets told the truth about why Chad broke up with her and a plan is out in place to get back at who was messing with everyone’s lives
So better then the first book and now understanding the cliff hanger in the first book all though it did annoy me that I had to wait till this book to find out chad was a good guy after all
Like the first book, this book was a good read. However, I feel like this could have been so much better with more...I just wish the author would push more and her stories would be great!
The writing style is still extremely middle school, the female lead turned from virgin to hoe in 2.5 seconds. Why can't I find a good bully book with some strong females.
