In Unpredictable Risk we finally get to know the quiet enigma that is Grant Hill. I have been wondering if anyone could break down his private walls and smart and sexy Brynnon Cantrell is the woman that he finally lets in! Grant met Brynnon when he was assigned to her senator father's security detail at the end of book 4. Now the senator has assigned Grant to protect his daughter because of continued threats against him. No matter how attracted Brynnon is to Grant the last thing that she wants is a babysitter. She is too busy in her life and doesn't have the time or patience for a guard. Grant is torn between his attraction to Brynnon and keeping his distance. He is a complicated man for many reasons and if you want to know those reasons you are going to have to read their story. I was told from dual POV and is loaded with action, angst, laughter, heat and love. I cannot wait to read the next RISC story!

Unpredictable Risk is book 5 in the R.I.S.C series by Anna Blakely. Former Navy SEAL Grant Hill loved working for R.I.S.C due to the variety of tasks you can do. When a new assignment came in, he volunteered straight away. He remembered the beautiful daughter of the United States Senator, Brynnon Cantrell when he was part of the security detail for her father the year before. Brynnon Cantrell wanted something other than a bodyguard. Would she accept Grant Hill? The readers of Unpredictable Risk will continue to follow Brynnon Cantrell and Grant Hill to discover what happens.
Unpredictable Risk is another fantastic book by Anna Blakely and an excellent addition to the R.I.S.C series. The story and characters engaged me from the first page to the end. I love Anna Blakely's portrayal of her characters and how they intertwine throughout the book. Unpredictable Risk is well-written and researched. I like Anna Blakely's description of the settings of Unpredictable Risk, which allowed me to imagine being part of the book's plot.
The readers of Unpredictable Risk will understand the importance of volunteers who visit sick children in the hospital and learn about the consequences of addictions on everyone around them.
I recommend this book.

Errrr .... I may be of the minority here but I found this book just so so.
It's not bad per se but it's not great, either.
I loved both characters immensely - loved the brooding, hot, sexy, aloof Hero and the gorgeous, kind-hearted heroine. They mash together really well.
But there was no angst, there was no climax (that was regarding their relationship), there was no misunderstandings, there was no ooomph. The whole book felt kinda flat for me. I did not grip the edge of my seat anxious to know what's next what's next.
So that's why I gave this book 3 stars.

Anna Blakely does it again. A book you won't want to put down. It's a slow burn with action heart and heat along with the characters from previous books. You get a real feel for Grant. A man who has closed himself off from feeling. The young person he was, the man he is and the man he wants to be. Brynnon is a young women who has had her world jaded yet manages to keep her heart open. Loved her spunk and sass. Get ready for a heartfelt ride with surprises that will grab your attention. Can't wait for mare. Definitely recommend this book along with the series.

First a note and pictures are left in her mailbox, then a car tries to drive Brynnon over, a bomb levels her house and her brother is shot to keep the threats coming. Grant falls hard and of course they find a happy ending as they face all the problems. I love a strong, serious alpha hero and a strong woman to be his special one.

This is book 5 in the RISC series and I would absolutely read the previous books before reading this one. In this one we get Grant Hill's story! Grant is a former Navy SEAL who went through more than he should have and now avoids getting close to others as a result. He has been assigned to Brynnon Cantrell , a senator's daughter, as protection detail while his team determines whether the threat is real or not. Brynnon knows how protective her father is but she doesn't believe she needs to have a bodyguard. And she doesn't want what her father has chosen for his life's work to interfere with how she wants to live her own. But the more time that Grant and Bryn are forced to spend together, just has the sparks flying even with them both trying to avoid them. And when the danger is closer than any of them thing, Grant has to finally face his fears head on.
I absolutely loved this one! Grant definitely went through more than any person ever should. But he is still this wonderfully decent human being that you can't help but love. Bryn also knows about loss but instead of closing herself off, she tries to live her life to the fullest and just be happy. The sparks between these two are off the chart right from the beginning. And their interactions together just leave you wanting more. There is plenty of action, suspense, romance, but there is also some heart break that I didn't see coming. But I loved every bit of it!! And after that epilogue? I need the next book like now! I can't wait to read more in this series!

Oh my Anna Blakely has done it again with the wonderful Unpredictable Risk, book 5 in the RISC series and my brand new favourite. Grant & Bryn’s story has it all - action, intrigue, laughter, romance & heat & will take you on a complete emotional roller coaster. Grant Hill is closed off & private, moulded by his past he doesn’t do emotions, he doesn’t want to feel so he is completely unprepared for the way sexy Brynnon Cantrall turns his world upside down & the feelings she evokes in him. RISC are called in to protect Bryn & her Senator father but feisty Bryn doesn’t want a babysitter, she’s too busy, too focused on her career & doesn’t believe she’s at risk apart from maybe losing her heart to enigmatic Grant. Meanwhile Grant desperately tries to focus on protecting Bryn, instead of his growing attraction to her.
Bryn’s heart is as open as Grant’s is closed off & the slow burn of their relationship builds perfectly, beautifully written & paced you won’t be able to put their story down.
All the RISC characters appear in supporting roles but I love Grant, he truly is the perfect brooding hero!

Well, Grant is the most alpha male that took the longest to realize what he had and then it was too late. He's steps up to protect Brynnon, a US Senator's daughter. First hint, he won't let Coop do it, it has to be him. They've met briefly a few months ago and went their separate ways. Brynnon is a hard working entrepreneur, but others don't see her as that, they see her as the spoiled rich girl. Second hint - the mailbox, Third hint - the meat lover's pizza. Fourth hint - Dad's ok with it, Fifth hint, your're the reason I'm still here and Sixth, the waltz. He is a rule follower, but at every turn Brynnon is breaking his hold on his resolve. It's a wonderful story of his fall (and I mean this in a good way). Lots of suspense, I was reading really, really fast to find out what would happen at the end.
Ms. Blakely is a great author for any reader and she is definitely a one click author for me. I highly recommend.

Unpredictable Risk compares to the anticipation of watching in slow motion the ticking numbers of a time bomb, while trying to discover which wire is the one to cut so it will not fulfil its intended purpose. This 5th book in the R.I.S.C. Series concerns team member Grant Hill and Brynnon Cantrell, daughter of Senator Cantrell, who has received a death threat worth taking seriously. Grant is Bryn's bodyguard and amid trying to keep her safe, figure out and end the threat, a slowly building, burning fire of emotions that's ready to combust between Grant and Bryn. Throw in the unintentional death of soldiers, a dying father wanting justice for his son, a possible connection to the Senator and someone trying to keep a secret worth killing for, this book has it all; action, romance, suspense and an ending that's to die for. I highly recommend reading this book and all the books in the R.I.S.K. Series. I received an ARC from the author in return for my honest review.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat!!
I really liked the character of Grant. He is described as this tough, grumpy man who is more machine than man yet as we get to know him we find out this isn't true at all. What I especially liked was that Grant agreed with this description and when confronted with these things called "feelings" it became uncharted territory.
I liked the character of Brynnon. There were times I question her reasoning but yet it might be because as a reader, I know more than she did. Here is a woman who is trying her hardest to carve out a world for herself not associated with her senators father. She loves to flip homes and does a really good job with it.
The action and suspense in this book was off the charts. It had you guessing who might be the bad guy and yet as suspicion grows, you're drawn into finding out who wants to hurt Brynnon. You won't be able to put it down.

If you look up the definition of stoic in the dictionary you'll likely find Grant Hill's name and likeness there. The man is an enigma. Although he's been in every one of the R.I.S.C series books we know little about him other than being a man of very few words and he likes to blow stuff up. Brynnon Cantrell made an impression the first time he met her and she has left his mind since. She's her own woman with a thriving business who isn't afraid to get her hand dirty working. Now she's Grant's assignment and despite the fact she makes no bones about wanting him, he doesn't cross those lines. The old saying "visit the sins of the father on the children" comes into play when Brynnon is targeted for some soldier's deaths caused by her father's construction company. It takes Grant and all the Alpha team to pull all the threads to get to the bottom of a betrayal that hits all too close to home. Meanwhile he loses his heart to the woman who so freely gives him hers.

Long held secrets and hurts
Grant and Brynnon. We saw their first meeting in a previous book and now we see their relationship unfold as RISC is hired again to help the Senator and his daughter. The danger is straightforward, but not as the clues start to come in. Grant and Brynnon are both strong willed and it shows in their compromises and tension filled moments where Grant fights his attraction. The Senator is a delight with his love of his children and openness to Grant. Cancer is a sad part but also poignant part of this story between the architect dream and waltz lessons. The final danger moments are not a surprise, but the introduction of a new doctor with Ryker maybe? And the location was. The ending was precious for this couple and full of angst for an upcoming couple with Mac and Coop. Loved seeing this team work together and have such a familial relationship as well with jokes and love.

EXCELLENT STORY!😊
This book was great! 👍 I loved the entire storyline.... It was unique, exciting, action packed, suspenseful and heartwarming all at the same time. It has everything you could want plus a feel of the characters being real people. Grant and Bryn's romance was lovely, passionate and sweet. From the first time they laid eyes on each other they were hooked and so was the reader, me!😁. There were lots of twists and turns with hints along the way who the bad person was and had a bang up surprising ending! I enjoyed catching up with the R.I.S.C. Team. I always enjoy reading about their support and affection for each other. I can't wait to read Mac and Coop's story.... I highly recommend this book and the others in the series. I came across Anna Blakely's books while just randomly browsing and am so glad I did!!!!!

WOW! Another FANTASTIC story by Anna! Oh how the mighty Grant Hill has fallen - in love that is. Grant was a stickler for not getting involved with anyone until he saw Brynnon. His defenses fell every time he was around Bryn. When they finally got together, it was explosive! Finding out what her brother did devastated her and then finding out her father's chief of staff did bad stuff to cover up her brother's misgivings then killing her brother and almost ending her life was devastating in itself. Once the guy who tried to kill Bryn killed himself, Grant and Bryn could move on to their happily ever after. Grant found he could love again and was ecstatic when Bryn told him was going to be a father. I am so happy for these two! FANTASTIC job Anna! I would recommend this book!

Senator Cantrell asked RISC to come to his aid again with protection for himself and his daughter, house flipper/stager, Brynnon. Grant Hill can’t even explain to himself why he pushed his female teammate, Mac, off the Brynn task, he just wanted it. Brynn remembered Grant from his last bodyguard rotation but that didn’t mean she needed guarding even from a sexy grump she fantasizes about and she doesn’t hesitate to let him know.
Days go by with only the exchange of smoldering looks, sexy banter and simmering ‘accidental’ touches before a threat and a near miss draws the pair closer. Determining the threat level from that quarter is low, Grant grinds his teeth as Brynn’s ex tries to return for part two. Showing moves his teammates didn’t know he had Bryn learns exactly why she has a bodyguard when the threats move up to live threatening proportions.

I have waited and waited for Grant's story. He always put on this guarded shield because of past hurts so I knew when he fell he was gonna fall hard and it was gonna be a kick in the gut to him and one that he was going to fight kicking and screaming. Man he did not disappoint but Brynn was up to the challenge and got in his face about it at every turn... It was a nice sweet romance but it was soooooo much more than that. No it didn't have as much sexy action as the other books in this series but it was just the right amount for Grant's story. Any more and I dont think it would have done him justice.... he was just to guarded and hesitant for any more than that. Anna you knocked his story out of the park and it is by far my FAVORITE one yet

I was all about this book and loved every single minute of it! It had passion, suspense, a little mystery and you could just feel the characters attraction for each other. Grant and Bryn were great characters. Bryn is a strong, independent woman who flips houses, and takes pride in doing things herself and not taking hand outs from her senator father. Her life was threatened, causing her father to hire Grant to be her bodyguard and keep her safe. Grant is an alpha hero, who is strong, smart and has so many walls built up around his heart, causing him to be kind of grumpy. Throughout the book, as the two get closer, we see Bryn break down those walls and Grant letting into his guarded heart which I thought was a beautiful thing. Their attraction grows, even tho Grant knows he shouldn't cross that line with a client, he soon can't resist her any longer and when things finally happen between Grant and Bryn, it's like fireworks on the fourth of July. They have passion and such a steamy romance, that I'm totally here for! He continues to protect Bryn and ultimately realizes that he can't live without her. I loved this book, it's one of my favorites from Anna Blakely!

This story of Grant and Bryn touched my heart like no other. The heartfelt, gut-wrenching feelings that flow through this story affected me like no other story has in quite a while, and I’m an avid reader. When a person goes through such pain that they close themselves off to life, another can recognize a kindred soul.
This story is The Best that Anna Blakely has written so far! All I can say is Wow. I laughed; I cried; then I sobbed. This may be a work of fiction but it touched me like it was a real life experience. It is worth so much more than five stars!

I was completely hooked from page one with Grant and Brynnon's story for book 5 of R.I.S.C.! Both characters are full of such raw emotion that you can feel it all seep through the pages as you read. And the sexual tension throughout... let's just say that these two were completely meant for each other. The romance may have been slow, but it was that much sweeter! I don't want to give anything away so all I will say is that Anna Blakely has done an incredible job giving us a story for each of the members of R.I.S.C. throughout this series, and I loved seeing the gruff Grant finally feel happiness.

Having picked up the spark between these two when they first met previously I knew this story would be coming, what a story it is as well. Exciting and unpredictable, it's full of action and is quite emotional as well. Both characters have had their share of pain in their past and for Grant it has had him shut down his heart as hard and tight as he possibly can, Brynnon though sneaks past the blocks in such a way he doesn't stand a chance. The plot wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be from the prelude, so it was a surprise. Gripping and often tense reading, I was 3/4 through before stopping for a break and sleep. It kept my attention and had me holding my breath more than once. Fabulous book and I'm already waiting for the next one.

Wow, this series keeps getting better with each story. Absolutely fell in love with Grant Hill the male lead. Bryn is the leading lady and she is so much fun. Blakely created these two characters perfectly for eachother. Grant is perfect in my opinion he has no much pain from his past that he has steel around his heart. Bryn will crack that steel an inch at a time and she will get this grouchy Seal to laugh and smile. The chapters are filled with suspense, mystery, forgiveness, love and so much more. This is my favorite story in the series to date. In my opinion it's a must read. Happy Reading!!

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the 5th book in the R.I.S.C. Alpha Team series. I have read the first four books in this series before picking up this book, but you can read this book as a standalone. I have been wanting to know more about Grant's character from the first book, and I am so happy to finally get his character. This book pulled me into the story right from the start. There is a ton of action and suspense in this book. I really enjoyed getting to know all the characters in this series, but I think his character is my favorite so far. The ending of this book had me sitting on the edge of my seat, and there is a ton of suspense and drama in this book.

Ms Blakely did it again! Unpredictable Risk is absolutely fabulous...This story is so well written, it has it all, intrigue, bullets and blasts..Grant's story was always going to be interesting, the quiet closed off team mate, but oh boy when he falls for Brynnon he falls hard 🙂 I couldn't put this one down, if you have never read an Anna Blakely book, you really are missing some wonderful stories...Amazon we need more stars please because this one is 5 ☆ plus! I can't wait for the next one, is it May yet?

Unpredictable Risk is absolutely fabulous...This story is so well written, it has it all, intrigue, bullets and blasts..Grant's story was always going to be interesting, the quiet closed off team mate, but oh boy when he falls for Brynnon he falls hard 🙂 I couldn't put this one down, if you have never read an Anna Blakely book, you really are missing some wonderful stories...Amazon we need more stars please because this one is 5 ☆ plus! I can't wait for the next one, is it May yet?

Unpredictable Risk is book 5 in the author’s R.I.S.C. series , and it is wonderful! And my new favorite! The romance was a slow build but the danger and suspense hits from the start. Loved discovering more about quiet, shut down Grant . What a great story! It stands alone , but the entire series is so good you really need to go back and read them all . Trust me , they’re all that good! Thanks Anna Blakely for gifting me with an Arc ! Loved it !!!

Ms. Blakely is a newer author to me, but she is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
The detail with which she writes her characters truly gives you a view into their soul and you feel like you are right there experiencing everything that they do.
Grant & Brynnon are so perfect for each other. I love "watching" the slow fall of these alpha heroes as strong heroines work their way into their hearts.
I'm looking forward to many more wonderfully written books from this author!

This series could be so much better with a lot of editing, if every military special forces guy didn’t cry and throw temper tantrums, and if there wasn’t so much repetition.
I liked Grant and Brynnon — but as with almost every book in this series, one glance and the guy is in love.
This story was well thought out, and had lots of heat and excitement. Planning to continue the series, but with little hope of better editing.

Grant a men with a sad painful past. Shut down and built walls he thought never to open again. Brynnon people always wanted her for her money she built a life away from her fathers political life. Then things happen that puts her life in danger Grant hired as q body guard feels his walks crumbling. She hopes he loves her. Can't wait to read more books written by the awesome Anna Blakely

Book 5 in the RISC series captures you from the beginning. Anna Blakely takes us on a ride full of action, mystery, emotions, and intrigue while developing a beautiful slow-burning story of love and trust between Grant and Bryn. Another winner in a great series. I love the teaser at the end whetting our appetite for Book 6. I received this as an ARC and voluntarily give my review.

Unpredictable Risk! Great sparks between Grant and Brynnon. Even though he was trying to guard his heart because had been hurt really bad. Everyone could by the way he looked at her they he was in love. Never a dull moment in R.I.S.C. They always come through for the job and the women they love. I love their story.
