The Comics Code was so funny: "Uhh, ok, you can have all these characters running around calling on the power of Satan, but please don't show this dude getting crucified in Hell"
I was really in the mood for supernatural comics and picked up this old classic. It absolutely reads very much like a cult horror movie from the 1970s - up to and including inappropriate and offensive stereotypes of Indigenous People and women - but with that conscious bias aside, it's super fun to revisit an earnest and verbose take on a cursed man who uses their dark heritage to try and do some good.
Reading this feels like watching old style pulp horror movies and television in the best possible way - and while I do enjoy some of the modern adaptations of the "Son of Satan" in newer comic versions and television series like "Helstrom" - I would still recommend this series for someone who loves old style cult horror and classic comic book fun.
