When the Aadhaar database containing the biometric and financial details of 1.2 Billion Indians is hacked in a ransomware attack, everyone is stunned by the audacity of the crime.
Who could have done this? Why? And how?

The cyber-terrorists soon send a message. They demand One Billion dollars to unlock the encrypted database. If the demands are not met, the database will be wiped out in seventy-two hours.

With the ransom deadline ticking down, the Prime Minister sends a Covert Ops team to China to trace the culprits. But when the team reaches China, they find something shocking.

From the rugged mountains of Iran to the teeming crowds of Istanbul to an underwater cat-and-mouse chase below the Straits of Malacca, Operation Dragon Strike is a gripping, breakneck adventure that will leave action thriller fans gasping for breath.

Armaan slammed on the brakes. The jeep screeched to a stop in front the truck. Nitin leapt out on the move. Armaan flung the jeep door open and flipped off the safety switch of his Glock 17 handgun. The cold steel felt good in his palm. His trigger finger stroked familiar metal. He had been itching for revenge since the moment the terrorists had shot him. Nitin raced to the now stationary truck cockpit. He took in one glance and turned to Armaan.

"The driver's dead."

Armaan swore. These terrorists were goners. He ignored the throbbing in his wounded shoulder and crouched behind the chassis of the truck. The terrorists would be going after the rest of the trucks. He had to stop them. The sound of the terrorists' van increased as it came alongside the truck.

Now!

Armaan rose out of his hiding place as the van came into view. He kept his hand outstretched and pointed his Glock square at the terrorist driving the van and squeezed the trigger twice. He watched the van driver jerk back as he got hit in the chest, and then slumped down the seat, dead.

The van rolled past the truck and came to a stop twenty metres ahead. He had stopped the terrorists from attacking the convoy. But now he faced a serious threat.

Armaan watched the masked terrorists barge out of the van, their machine guns glinting under the hot sun. He had just made his day worse. With the van stopping ahead of his position, the truck no longer offered him protection. He was completely exposed. There were six of them, all getting their AK-47s ready to pump him full of lead.

Armaan was a split-second away from death...

Again, a brilliant work by Rahul Badami. I loved the way the author puts up the plot and the characters. The book is a fiction based on the hacking of Aadhar database by the enemy nations. The spy team from India got the mission to find the decryption code to undo the damage and save the Aadhar database.
Colonel Armaan is my favourite character. A true patriot and a true soldier. He talks about the challenges he faced while leading the team. Best part about him is the way he talks with himself, bold and decisive. I quote from the book one of the instances he talks with himself " The correct answers to questions are only found in school books. In real life, one must always take firm decisions based on incomplete information." . I will quote one more time how Armaan puts up leadership as "Leadership is a lonely job. You can consult all you want, but the final decision is your responsibility. You can not ask anyone to decide on your behalf. Your actions will affect not just you, but the team as well. You will have to live with the ramifications of every decision you take."
A must read book for those who love fiction. The book is full of surprises. You will be biting your nails every other moment. The other books from the author 'Operation Deepstrike', and 'The Karachi Deception' are also a must read. I will give 5 stars to both the work as well as the author.

A good one time read

It started off well, has great twists and ends well. Something like a Hindi masala film, complete with spoes fighting bad men. A firm grasp over technology and weapons gives the story a realistic feel. You are put in the midst of it all and you can feel the terror the men feel. I felt the submarine op was wasteful and unnecessary. Otherwise, it is a good weekend read, helpful to take your mind off the lockdown.

After the first part expectations were high but this one turned out to be a time pass. Though the topic is little different and very contemporary but execution should have been better. Difficult things are written in too simple way which marred the story. Writer was able to hold the pace in the story but the edge of the seat moment were never truly created.

Interesting read but amatuerish

The plot is good and the lay reader may find the book great but not someone who knows a thing or two about spy fiction / military thrillers and not a military guy in any case. Badami needs to be more convincing and must realize that even when it's fiction , you can't pull fast ones in this genre of writing.

Again a Thriller with unexpected turn of events. The plot keeps you on toes to know what will be the next turn of events....The storyline keeps pacing up as you read through....The best part is when you start to imagine the characters like a movie screenplay and then you start to enjoy the plot even more. The attempt by the Author Rahul Badami is indeed a fantastic effort. Kudos to Rahul!

Ransomware hacks lead to the discovery of other national security threats.

Threats within threats. Mysteries within puzzles.

Amazing action and adventure

Intelligent!

Excellent plot with breathtaking narration. This novel reinforces the unconditional patriotism exhibited by our Defence forces and Intelligent Agencies.
To conquer the enemy, mind and technique need to be at it's best.

Average thriller

In my opinion Operation Dragon strike is average rated thriller, it is not good as its predecessor Operation deep strike. The hostile situations in every part is easily pre assumable. This time I have more expectation from the author.

Tries hard to be a fast paced espionage thriller. Gets he pace right but unfortunately, likely else. The scenarios and the resolutions are simplistic. A bunch of Indian me roaming around peacefully in a Chinese city and moving about in secure areas of buildings without raising any alarms. Poor.

An ok plot on Cyber Security

A simple but one time worth read plot. Involving cyber security, the book takes the reader to Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, China and Pakistan. The way this book has ended, I am assuming there will be a part 3 coming soon.

Good but deep strike was better

It's fast paced but the plot could have used a bit of refinement.
Overall it's good book.
Hope a sequel comes because the ending is a cliff hanger

An okay book.

Expected a different outcome but story became little too predictable. But nonetheless, a more realistic approach to the story line.

I loved the climactic twist.
And the way with which Captain Khurrana controlled the Sub and the lingering doubt of detection. Edge of the seat content

The start and follow was good but the ending was not that good, it failed to create the goose bump like in the previous book.
