“Well, it’s only been a few months since I graduated, but there’s no forgetting how much Cedar Oaks likes drama,” she spoke through a grimace. And rightfully so. It was just last winter when good girl Paige Locklear and bad boy Liam Harwick started a Romeo and Juliet kind of relationship that had the entire town talking.
Michaela Pearson is the most frustrating, stubborn girl I’ve ever met in my life, I muttered to myself as she grabbed her box of décor, marched out of Café Prose, and stepped into the cold December air. Her red hair flittered in the wind and I couldn’t stop myself from smiling. “And I have it bad for her.”
These last five months without her hurt more than I realized.
Mean girls freaking suck! There is another short, sweet, cute novella by Juliet Bardsley. Even though this was a really short novella, there were still great details and sweet moments. But I wanted more. If you’re looking for a story about first kisses and first love, then this series is for you. 4.75
This seemed extremely short even for a novella. Is this the direction books are going? I hope not. It was a very sweet, cute story and despite the shortness the characters were surprisingly well developed. However, there wasn't much as far plot structure and story development. I missed that there was no real depth in the story.
***+Not many spoilers, but there’s a few... no, just a little!
I am glad that this was short. Because if it was any longer. I would’ve been over it.
But the story was interesting and kept me wanting to know what will happen, even though I knew that Braden would’ve gotten the girl Michaela. I liked the fact that he finally got to explain to her why he didn’t show up at her door for the dance? Prom? Whatever...
That Poopy girl or was it, Poppy, 🤣 anyways; you could tell that the Poppy girl was jealous of Michaela, though, how she ignored her when she asked to be the volunteer for prom. But at least Braden (who I kept saying; his name as Brandon🤣) which it’s not. But at least in the end that they both told Poppy off because she deserved to know she didn’t win anything because Michaela got the guy and Braden didn’t want her after what had happened.
Great quick short read. I was able to connect with the characters and feel the hurt they experienced. It was a great story of misunderstandings with a happy ending. The emotion that was driven by the 2 main characters kept me interested and wanting to know how things would work out for them.
Man, poppy is a real jerk . Mean girls are always threatened by real girls because real girls don’t do other girls dirty like the mean girls do. And Braden should’ve tried way harder than he did explain to her what happened.
