Leading Wherever You Are: 7 Weeks in the Book of Joshua is one of three new studies by Teresa Swanstrom Anderson, and you are not going to want to miss a single one! It is absolutely brimming with new insights, helpful charts, thoughtful questions, all of which get you digging deeper into scripture than before. Not only does Teresa lead you into Joshua, but she also teaches you how to study and introduces other resources that can help you as you grow. I have done my fair share of Bible studies over the years, and while others have left me disappointed with a shallow outline or overwhelmed by being all story and no scripture, Teresa's studies are a breath of fresh air and exactly what I was looking for! I cannot recommend them enough!

I am LOVING this devotional book!
I have been looking for something exactly like this for a while now. I wanted to find a devotion book that I could do with a group, but also get a lot out of it by myself. Her writing style is relatable and yet asks questions to make you think.
That's my favorite part......that she asks you questions and you get to really dive deep into the Bible. Check out all 3 books!

I am currently working my way through “Leading Wherever You Are” and am loving it so far! I love how Anderson lays out in the introduction with apps and Bibles to reference throughout the study, and that she also shares how to navigate them. She reminds us early on in the study that by being a leader, it is our job to “raise up the next generation to take our place.” That is such a great reminder of what it is to be a great leader. Anderson does a great job presenting questions throughout this study to challenge us and to push us to dig deeper. Her study is not one you just read through and answer from the text, she makes the reader do some research that allows the reader to find greater understanding. She wants us constantly referring to our Bible and various translations I love that she includes a family tree for Joshua. There are so many names throughout the Bible and I often get confused by their connections. I'm learning practical ways to build my own leadership skills to lead well in all areas of my life through her study. Highly recommend!

I will update my review once I have completed the entire study.

Since this was a ' read-to-review ', I did not take 7 weeks with this title. However, I am certainly going to schedule at least a full 7 weeks, as this study is very deep. Cannot wait to soak up all that is offered! Highly recommended!

I'm still in the process of reading this one, but so far, SO good. As an academic, it is really important to me that people have done their research when publishing studies such as these. I really believe that to be the case here, and especially love how the author breaks out the "history lessons" for the reader. This paragraph in the intro captured me from the get-go: "If we want to be bold women who love God deeply, we must be women of Scripture... we need to make sure we're not spending more time in books about the Bible than in the actual Bible." I grew up in a church where, in my experience - aside from the readings at mass, the traditions often supercede the Scripture. So as an adult, finding my way through the Bible has been a more complicated process. Teresa is thoughtful and thorough, and makes this process more manageable. The study asks you to consider aspects - philosophical, spiritual, and historical - that you might not otherwise encounter. Looking forward to seeing what else is in store with this one.

Eager to begin this study!

Teresa Swanstrom Anderson's Get Wisdom Bible Studies are a breath of fresh air, teaching you to not merely read the Word, but to study it. Know it. Understand the intent and original language. Dive into the context and understand Scripture through the lense of historical background. With her historical lessons and guided word studies, you will glean understanding of God's word and in turn grow in your understanding of Him.

I recently got this study in the mail and can't wait to start it! I wanted to get on here and leave a review in my excitement but will come back and update after finishing. Joshua 1:9 has been "my verse" for over 30 years now and I have been called to leadership in a variety of areas in my life so this study really caught my eye. I've done another study of Teresa's (on Philippians) and read her book, Beautifully Interrupted, and if this study is even half as good as what I've already read, I know it will be amazing. I do already know that I love that the writing portions are included IN the book so it's easier to take with me. I love how Teresa encourages her readers to ready, study and research for themselves. And I love the questions she leaves lingering.

Many times we think of leaders as those up-front, outgoing people but the author emphasizes that a leader = influence wherever you are ... with family, friends, church, the workplace etc ... any place where you have a voice. This study on the book of Joshua encourages you to learn but also how to live what you are studying.
This was a Rolling Hills Bible study that I was a part of and, not only was I challenged to grow in my faith from this study, but also from other women's perspectives and journeys.

A very timely study. I was wanting to dig deeper after finishing my last in depth Bible study and found that I was totally engaged. I loved the Teresa Swanstrom Anderson's use of the Blue Letter Bible app to get to the original language of the Bible. This app had been sitting in my phone but I never really understood how to use it. What an amazing treasure it has turned out to be. Her insights had me examining my own life and the keeping of the covenant I have personally with the God of the Universe. For those who sometimes wonder why God asked the leaders of the Old Testament to engage in what may seem like extreme measures, this study offers greater understanding. For the serious Bible student this is a must read.
