Born and raised in Eastern Ohio, Commander Wallace received his commission in the US Navy and a degree in engineering from The Ohio State University. After the obligatory and memorable interview with Admiral Rickover, he was accepted into the nuclear power and submarine communities. He served on two of Admiral Rickover’s famous “Forty One for Freedom”, the USS John Adams SSBN 620 and the USS Woodrow Wilson SSBN 624, during which time he made nine one-hundred-day deterrent patrols through the height of the Cold War.

Commander Wallace served as Executive Officer on the Sturgeon class nuclear attack submarine Spadefish. Spadefish and all her sisters were decommissioned during the downsizing that occurred in the 1990′s. The passing of that great ship served as the inspiration for “Final Bearing.”

Commander Wallace then commanded the Los Angeles class nuclear attack submarine USS Houston SSN 713 from February 1990 to August 1992. During this tour of duty he worked extensively with the SEAL community developing SEAL/submarine tactics. Under his command, the Houston was awarded the CIA Meritorious Unit Citation.

Commander George Wallace retired to the civilian business world in 1995, after twenty-two years of service on nuclear submarines.

Commander Wallace lives with his wife, Penny, in Alexandria, Virginia.

This is, by far, my favourite Hunter Killer book so far. Look it's no literary masterpiece but it is a well written action-advventure novel. Both authors served timed in the Navy and this is evident in their skillful descriptions of life aboard a submarine - they provide just enough information that is reads as authenitc without confusing their readership. Arabian Storm finds good balacne between the characters we've come to love over the series while introuducing new characters. While some of their earlier books could occasionally feel formulaic, Arabian Storm has enough twists and turns to keep you engaged and on the edge of your seat. A solid and enjoyable read.

A good story with all of the usual characters (From the previous instalments!) The ending to the story felt a bit rushed but was ok. Build up towards the finale was quite fast paced and kept the interest. Moving on to the next in the series 'Warshot'

A fast-paced read that grabs you on the first page and is powered by non-stop action and a taut, emotional narrative This book is a real page turner!

Wallace and Keith’s work is an outstanding naval thriller right up there with the likes of Tom Clancy and Patrick Robinson. This wonderfully crafted story with twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat right to the last page. It was so captivating and exciting that I simply couldn't put it down. I had to read the whole thing in one sitting!

Thank you to the authors who provided me with an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have read all the books in this series and have yet to be disappointed. The characters continue to develop and the descriptive writing is to say the least compelling. The family connections and past experiences add to the depth of the story. I enjoyed all the technical aspects and the use of technology in the storylines, the autonomous weapons are probably already in use. The plot is particularly relevant given the world situation and I cannot wait for the next in this series. A thoroughly enjoyable book if you, like me are a fan of a good war story, read it you will not be sorry you did.

I enjoy a good submarine thriller and hadn't read anything by these authors before. I picked this title at random.

From a sub ops/strategy perspective, this is a top-notch read. The diversity and depth of technical and maneuvering aspects are excellent. You can certainly tell this was informed by a very experienced operator (Wallace). I enjoyed being taken on various submarines from three navies in this book. Some of the underwater gameplay was quite innovative, and not beyond the bounds of realism.

The special forces ops drama was quite good too, although I found the stereotypical 'hero' worship of the soldiers and officers a bit over the top. Do special forces people really spend much of their time 'grabbing coffees' and making lame dad jokes? Hope not.

I think the writing could do with a good edit too. Some of the prose was sloppy, and there was a general overuse of grandiose adjectives and adverbs.

I found the American world view in the story a bit irritating. Does EVERYONE who opposes Uncle Sam have to be a 'madman' and 'demented'? The antagonist in the story is clearly very talented and highly intelligent, but the authors label him as a crazed nut. Was he really all these things? Or is this what any anti-American is automatically labelled?

I found the characterization of American enemies to be melodramatic and one-dimensional. It's like the good 'ol USA is scared witless of anything that comes out of the Middle East, Pakistan/Afghanistan, or China. In some parts they are even described as the 'bad guys'. Really?

I might be wrong, but I don't recall a single female character in this whole book! Hmm.

In summary, a pretty good read if you're happy with a USA-centric, back-slapping, boys-own-adventure kind of story. The book doesn't pretend to be anything more than that.

I find it hard to beleive that the author served in the Navy with the mistakes that he makes. The book was ok. I mostly enjoyed it but the details get on my nerves. An ETCM doesn't have a quartermaster's background. On a sub, he is either a nuke or a plain electronic tech. He may know navigation but he's not a QM. Also, it's a Jiangkai II FFG. Mispelling it is sloppy. Several books into this series and I'm baffled why the SEALs keep calling each other toads. They are FROGmen and if anything, would call each other frogs or frogmen. Im glad that I am reading these thru Kindle Unlimited because I wouldn't pay for them.

Another excellent addition to the Hunter Killer series. Again it’s just a damn shame that the book is so short! The ending sequence of events was too rushed for my liking. The book did a tremendous job of building suspense and intrigue throughout all for it to be over in a few pages. Much like Fast Attack this could have easily been a series of books. Another 100 or so pages and an ending that didn’t feel so rushed this was a 5 star.

Fast paced excitement.

This book was interesting on a couple levels for me. I learned some about submarine operations and crew interaction along with the enjoyment of a fast paced story. The writers ' knowledge of submarine equipment and tactics was a help in learning why and how the boats are deployed... Very basically of course. The storyline is totally possible. I recommend this book.

Fast-paced

I loved reading this book. I was especially excited when I saw the name of my ship, USS Simon Lake(AS33) on which I served for five years from ‘75 - ‘80. I was on-board during which time we performed upkeep/maintenance on the John Adams and Woodrow Wilson, on which the author served. He definitely knows his stuff when it comes to submarines! Thank you so much for a great read!

A exciting series of situations

I enjoyed the story line, however having lived in several middle East countries, found it difficult to conceive th A the technological aspect and the ability to accumulate the superstar and drones used with out being detected and stopped difficult to be believable.

The story lines were entertaining and researched. The technical details on sub life were very enjoyable, except ,for the line about forty feet equaling forty fathoms. That part is inaccurate. But other than that the rest of the novel is easy to follow and all the plot lines are finished by the end of the novel. A not bad read from beginning to end, I look forward to the next novel.

Best of their Work.

Incredible detail that speaks to our adversaries and our military capabilities in today’s times. I can’t help but think that all this application of technology, intelligence and military planning is for real. Now that degree of clarity gives me pause as to what a dangerous world we live in!

Gripping storyline

Another winner from the authors, they have managed to bring to life the professionalism and dedication of the professional expertise of the USA Navy and it's branches of submarine service and SEALS teams to thwart the most deadliest opponent's they have ever faced from completing their plans to bring the world to nuclear Armageddon.

Fast moving with terrorists a plenty. The good guys win with the Israelis rightly shown very positively in their struggle against those who seek to destroy them.

Another Great Read !!!!

All the main characters are kept busy to the climax. More terrorists are trying to start a holy war. They plan to have America, China, Israel and the Middle Eastern countries to fight each other. More toys and technologies.

continuing to be solid

I am really enjoying reading these submarine adventures and the nostalgia of a past life. Like previous books in this series the author gets a little verbose but that will not stop me from finishing the series.

Overall this was one of my top books from Wallace and Keith. Per usual there was a lot of character shifts, however, this book seemed to flow a lot smoother through the transitions compared to other ones. Would definitely recommend.
