A high-value target has been captured and is being held in a Belarus prison where he awaits execution. Mitch’s objective is clear: snatch the inmate and evade on foot through the forest to the Polish border then flee the country with Dev’s assistance. What could go wrong? Except when the prisoner is an international arms dealer wanted by three different governments and a list of rogue terrorists, their escape turns into a high-stakes pursuit. With a traitor in their midst, Mitch must use all of his counter-tracking skills to survive.
High-Risk is the eighth volume in the explosive, Mitch Kearns Combat Tracker Series by JT Sawyer.
If you're a fan of Bond, Patterson, or Bourne, you'll be swept up in this adrenaline-soaked approach to storytelling.
The Gideon team is hired to break an arms dealer out of a prison in Belarus. There's some trouble from the start as both the British and Israeli governments have a hand in the operation, and don't necessarily want the same thing.
Mitch gets himself arrested, and incarcerated, but after that, nothing is as it seems, and there are wheels within wheels.
I love this series, and anything written by this author. What an imagination! This is a standalone story, and you will not want to stop at just one book.
The traitor will keep you guessing that's for sure! Wow, to say there are twists in this story, especially at the end, is a huge understatement! The characters are written with such depth that I felt I knew them in my soul!
There's a relationship that our H has with another (male). The dialogue between them was humorous at times. It added just the right amount and at the perfect time. The very last scene with the H and a letter was priceless! I hope these two cross paths again.
Story is very suspenseful, drama, a lot of violence, twists, great main and secondary characters, more villains than good guys, and great pacing.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, Lord's name used once I believe and several crude words - it is a military story so expected!
I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. (ljb)
Just a little after the start the action starts and builds. This was a good story line. Good developed characters. The story could have used a little more detail in some places to tie parts together. Mitch Kearns tracker books are always good. He didn’t have to use his tracking to much, more his evading the people chasing him. Fun, quick read.
I have read the series from 1 to 8. The books are quick action reads with tracking and trailing bits added to make the stories different from other shoot em up stories. My kindle version stated this was the 8th in the series. I believe it is because the number 7 I read was a prequel story from his time in training as a Green Beret.
I have enjoyed this author since he released his first novel and I always look forward to his next novels. He creates a great image with his writing and I love the way he blends the characters in the story lines. Great reading.
As I said in my review of Book 7, the stories get better and better. The international intrigue was edge of the seat and kept me turning pages until I completed it in one sitting. I'm about to start Book 9.
