The Diskers have not gone quietly into the night...
Decades have passed since the failed coup on Venus, but now the separatists in the Scattered Disk have resurfaced. With a fleet far larger than any suspected, the rebels take Sedna and proclaim it the capital of a new, Free Disk Alliance.
But the Federation is not above using the full might of their military to bring errant worlds back into line. The TSS Normandy is once again dispatched to restore order--no matter the cost.
With Williams and the 242 aboard, victory is all but assured. However, Katelyn Evans and the separatists have learned from their defeats at Makemake and Ven us. They're prepared to do whatever it takes to defend their homeland.
Malorie Cooper likes to think of herself as a dreamer and a wanderer, yet her feet are firmly grounded in reality.
A ‘maker’ from an early age, Malorie loves to craft things, from furniture, to cosplay costumes, to a well-spun tale, she can’t help but to create new things every day.
A rare extrovert writer, she loves to hang out with readers and people in general. If you meet her at a convention, she just might be rocking a catsuit, cosplaying one of her own characters, or maybe her latest favorite from Overwatch!
She shares her home with a brilliant young girl, her wonderful wife (who also writes), a cat that chirps at birds, a never-ending list of things she would like to build, and ideas…
Like a lot of these books with multiple POVs, the beginning is a little slow while everything is set up, but once that’s done the action starts and doesn’t stop until the very end.
There’s a smidge of romance that I caught onto from the first book. It’s okay. Felt kind of forced.
Really enjoyed characters from previous series making an appearance and hope we get plenty more of them as the series continues.
It seems the Jovians plans to destabilise the Sol System shall bring some ofnour favourite characters together as Harm brings some of his agents into the fore causing another conflict between factions. Love the marine element of Williams as we find out exactly how Sol dissolved into war. Great page turner and another wonderful read
A fast paced, tense page turner this one. We get to see more of Williams and Katelyn, and many of the marines we've gotten to know and love, as well as some interesting characters from the previous book and new characters with their own various strengths and flaws to allow for some good interesting dynamics. Can't wait for the next one to see what happens next :)
This story is a prime example of why the 242nd is so often the point of the TSF 's spear. And bringing in the Weapon Born ANd was a great touch. Excellent story!
