Science can be messy - and revolting! The projects in this STEAM title are a great way to add some fun to science explorations. This title supports NGSS for Matter and Its Interactions.
Kelly Milner Halls specializes in high interest, well researched nonfiction for young readers. Her books include TALES OF THE CRYPTIDS, SAVING THE BAGHDAD ZOO, IN SEARCH OF SASQUATCH and ALIEN INVESTIGATION. But she is also an avid YA fan and loves realistic fiction including GIRL MEETS BOY, the anthology she edited for Chronicle (January 2012). Her first short story is in that anthology. She hopes it won't be her last. When she's not writing or doing school visits, she works for her friend and mentor Chris Crutcher in Spokane.
A collection of 20 elementary-level STEM/STEAM projects. Some unique projects and some classic ones. Some don't have much of a lesson with some projects (like the Fake Blood and Fake Poop), but there's more information on others. Lots of pictures with the directions make the projects very clear for those following - always a plus. Overall, an average little STEM project resource book.
Yes, I've used this one for some of my STEM programs. I've done the naked egg (Icky Egg here), for example, and I'd like to do the Monster Soap and the Volcanic Wax some day.
