Raised and trained by The Asylum Fight Club’s most infamous owner, Reed Dane is almost untouchable. Might sound dope, but there are disadvantages to his ‘privileged’ status. His guardian’s reputation makes a serious relationship impossible—turns out the club’s members are addicted to breathing—and the one man Reed truly wants sees him only as a stray his former lover brought home.

An endless string of one-night stands lacks the intimacy Reed craves, but at least edgy post-fight hookups distract him from what he’ll never have. Until he takes a wrecking ball to the walls that set him apart.

Curtis Smith is a lot of things—MMA fighter, club owner...son of a drug lord—but one thing he’s not is prepared to face temptation exploding past his carefully built boundaries. Reed is forbidden, to him most of all, but resisting what they both want becomes impossible with the sub challenging him at every turn. And with his past threatening everything The Asylum has been built to protect, Curtis can’t afford to be addicted to Reed’s brand of candy coated sin.

He can’t deny himself one taste before his stolen time runs out. Because when it does, all that will be left behind for Reed is a memory…

And his heart.

Oh… it’s good to be back with these men! Diving in full steam, we catch up right where Tibby Armstrong and Bianca Sommerland left us at the end of book one in The Asylum Fight Club series. In Beyond Justice, as the annual all-member challenge continues, we get Reed Dane and Curtis Smith’s points of view as the ensemble cast, we’ve come to know and love so well, helps these two men navigate their desires in this epic must-read-in-order collection.

Ever the sarcastic, sassy sub, Reed is continuing to spiral out of control trying to fulfill his needs. Having been abandoned by all those important in his life, he is desperate for the club’s owner Curtis, to see him as more than a kid. He gets his wish when one ill-thought-out decision leaves him broken and Law, The Asylum’s co-owner, forces Curtis to comfort the young man.

Having subjected himself to cheap and shallow encounters up to now, Reed is unprepared for the rush of emotions aftercare and a committed Dom like Curtis bring. But the confidence it instills in him is heartwarming. And what it brings out in Curtis? Wow! Until Curtis’ mysterious past comes out of nowhere and we slowly learn what he meant when he bemuses, “There were things Curtis could do – had done – that could push Reed over that very thin ledge he appeared to perch on. Curtis knew all about that ledge. He’d been living on it for years.”

These authors excel as a duo. They display the comfort level this entire “family” shares with one another and how it helps each of them get through… good and bad.

Just as these two men seem to be finding a rhythm, we as readers are left anxious when Ms. Armstrong and Ms. Sommerland build the tension as Reed is left, yet again. As Noah, the clubs most infamous owner and Curtis’ mentor warns him, “‘Make sure your boy has someone. He won’t understand,’” Curtis is forced to run in the dead of night without a word, leaving pain, hurt and confusion in both men’s wake… so excruciating you can feel the ache welling in your own throat as they each suffer internally.

But here is where these authors excel as a duo. They display the comfort level this entire “family” shares with one another and how it helps each of them get through… good and bad. What one man cannot give, another will. When one is weak, another is strong. When one fails, they all build him up. However, will it be enough to mend the broken pieces Curtis left behind? Especially when he returns and can’t reveal why he left, without risking those he loves.

When you learn Curtis’ secrets and how he met Noah, you can’t help but respect the man he has become. A man who, when put to the test, shows what he is made of, and what Reed means to him… in the most devastating way imaginable. To save them both.

If you are looking for a gripping BDSM story line that respects the give and take of each role, highlights the dynamics of power exchange within a club atmosphere, and dispels any notion that these types of partnerships can’t be loving, then you need to read The Asylum Fight Club series.

For a visual reader, like me, this writing partnership is pure heaven! Every move, every gesture, every look – even feelings – just bleed through the ink. And the heights they take Curtis, Reed, Law and Matt (Law’s sub) make you want to crawl through the pages and be right there with them all.

If you are looking for a gripping BDSM story line that respects the give and take of each role, highlights the dynamics of power exchange within a club atmosphere, and dispels any notion that these types of partnerships can’t be loving, then you need to read The Asylum Fight Club series. As I put down Beyond Justice I’m once again mesmerized by its powerful hold on me, and as Tibby Armstrong and Bianca Sommerland leave us waiting for Noah’s return, my mind is spinning. Who else’s story do I want to see play out next? When Charlie and Ezran, the club’s teens, come of age… could there be an enemies to lover’s hook-up in the works? Please let it be so!

I have to admit, I liked this one much better. There were some grammatical things that need fixed, but I liked it much better. Although I wanted to shake Curtis in this one a lot, I do get why he did what he did. And so did everyone else once they knew the truth. Or the ones who mattered. But that didn’t mean this was an easy ride whatsoever. And it’s only going to get that much harder now that one is coming home.
Reed has been wanting Curtis to be his for so long, I think some were making bets on if it would ever happen. Curtis just held secrets that he didn’t want anyone involved in, that no one really knew of but Noah. Because Noah had been there when things went down and Noah was the one to make Curtis see what was really going on. And the consequences. Curtis will always be thankful, now, for what Noah did, although, he wasn’t thanking him then. But even if he wanted to tell Reed now what was going on, he was told he couldn’t by someone who was undercover. So he ran. And broke Reed in ways no one knew possible. But someone caught up to him and told him it was time to come home and face it all. Even Reed. And the truth little by little, starting coming out. Especially when Curtis and Reed were kidnapped. But it’s not only their lives on the line, but their hearts.
I so hate what Curtis and Reed both had to go through in this one. In the best moment of Reed’s life, all he had to look forward to for a time further was despair. And Curtis had no way to tell anyone anything without repercussions. Which really wasn’t fair. I think he should have had the right to tell those he loved. He didn’t have to spread it around everywhere what was going on, but to be able to tell Reed and Law, maybe even Matt. To know he had support and love. And all he felt was that he failed and was bringing horror down on those he loved. Not an easy thing to deal with. And I hate Reed had to go through such heartache. But sometimes, unfortunately, we have to go through the bad to get through to the good. And sometimes the good needs time to come forth. It’s not an easy journey in this one. I think the lot of them need to be shaken at times. But they are doing the best with what they know and that has to count for a lot. And in the end, it does. I also like the new character in this one. Noah’s uncle. Lol. Oh, he’s just perfect. I’m anxious to see how it’s going to be now that certain events are happening. It’s going to be a rough ride for a bit for sure. But I think funny.

I knew Reed would give Curtis a run for his money!
I was excited to how this played out for the two of them
Curtis was such an arrogant piece of work and after the whole debacle with Law and Matt - which he could have handled a bit better but I get why he did things the way he did -
I was looking forward to his eventual capitulation to the glittering charm known as Reed

I am a bit heated at the way he dealt with the return of his past.
I get Noah knew and they had a plan in place.
But to do that to Reed?
I don't know if I would have given him a second chance.
Thankfully the persnickety bi*tch fate stepped in and gave a bit of a push

I am really curious about our "newcomer"
Seems he plays in the darker pool and he knows a lot more than he is letting on

This is the second book in the series - Honestly? I am not sure if they are standalone or not but I personally recommend reading them in order. I fell in love with Reed in the first book which provided a deeper connection for me to the cast in this second episode.

Beyond Justice (The Asylum Fight Club Book 2) by Bianca Sommerland and Tibby Armstrong will rip your heart out, stomp on it, crumple it into a little ball and then rebuild it stronger and happier than you can believe. This is Curtis and Reeds story and their future may just be stolen by Curtis past. This story takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride that will leave you exhausted but happy.
This book can stand alone but will be so much better with the foundation built in the first book Flawed Justice (The Asylum Fight Club, #1). The Asylum Fight Club is a safe place for gay men to fight and f**k which I thought an ironic dichotomy but the authors made it work. While I am not a MMA fan the characters drew me in and made me want to know more.

Reed and Curtis’ story had me invested in them from the beginning, and that didn’t let up the entire story. They made me hurt for them, ache for them, and I cried for them. For once, they gave in to their desire to be wanted and loved, and it brought up all their insecurities when it didn’t go as planned. The suspenseful part of the story was the catalyst, but the all-too-human reactions were the story. The heat between them couldn’t be denied, but the emotions and the past interfering, that was harder to move over

In it all, Reed and Curtis find their way, they find who they are apart and together. They make the rules that work for them, make them happy. It was a story about change, and finding that way through the change, and getting what you have always wanted, because that never changed!

The story continues right after the first book ended. Only this time we get Reed and Curtis’s POV. Reed is a snarky and sarcastic sub and is untouchable. He has been abandoned by those who should have been most important in his young life. He wants Curtis badly, and he gets his wish one night. But he is not prepared for the aftercare that a Dom like Curtis brings to the table. I seriously loved that two. It was an awesome story and cannot wait to read more of the series! I am voluntarily leaving a review form an advanced copy that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.

Reed and Curtis. Stayed up way too late finishing this one. Reed and Curtis are well balanced by the other characters, making this more of an ensemble cast with interesting minor characters and set up for future books. Emotions run high in this one, with a lot of introspection and poor choices. Plot is still a bit far fetched, but the hot and dirty parts make this easy to overlook. Loving this series so far. Can not wait for Noah's book.
A-, definite reread

Even better than the first in the series, and you definitely need to read them in order. Now I'm anxious for the next installment and extremely glad it's only a few weeks away.

I really took part one of this series to task for it's muddled plotting and worlbuilding, too much exposition and not enough time spent on the main pairing. But something about that whole mess apparently still enticed me enough to pick up this sequel. The good news is that the authors "fixed" a lot of the things I didn't enjoy about the first part. Also, turns out that my problem really was with the pairing of Matt and Law all along because Reed and Curtis story is a *much* smoother ride for the reader!
This is another looong read and it took me ages to get through because after all the bells and whistles are whistles are stripped away you're left with the tried and true trope of characters just not telling each other how they feel. And also keeping secrets to "protect" each other. *eyeroll*
The free sharing of sexual favours all around is also still very prevalent and still not my favorite aspect of this but obviously the authors are really into it and that's ok.

Ok, ho parlato troppo presto.
Saddo.
Aggiornamente ASAP!

Sooo I found this book way better than the first one. I loved Reed and Curtis in the first book and was hyped to read about them, but now in the second book, it felt like they became different characters. Reed Was not as confident as before and Curtis not as ... as.... not as before. I know much happend (to much, pacing was also kind of off) and their was some character development, but I still had different expectations. I also found it quite unforgivable how Curtis left Reed and came back with the expectation that everything will get back to normal over time. I do think that I will read the third book. I want to know more about Noah and how the Relationships will shift.

Again, I enjoyed this story, and the authors are clarifying some things very slowly, but I struggled near the end with punishment given to Matt, particularly. It’s his Dom’s job to train him in all aspects of submission. Matt has been there for months with Lawson, so if there are things he doesn’t know or understand, the fault lies with Lawson.
I liked Reed and Curtis and am looking forward to Noah’s story.

Curtis and Reed are such three dimensional characters that the difficulties they had to go through in this one hurt like you'd hurt for friends. We find out lots more about several members of the club here and there's very little sunshine in any of their pasts. At the end of this book, however, while it's clear difficulties lie ahead there is definitely hope and love.

Some questions answered

Events alluded to in book one, including about Noah are made clearer but a lengthy, somewhat hard to follow narrative. BDSM/relationship details bookend the rather shaky action-suspense sub-plot. Entertaining story, engaging characters.

Entertaining story, about Curtis and Reed. The writing was fluid and the characters were developed well. Reed was funny and sweet and Curtis was lovable.

Great read!

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved getting to know Curtis and Reed more and really getting to delve into their story. I also loved that we continued to get more of Matt and Law from the first book. Reed grew up in and around the club as Noah took him in when he was a kid/teenager and gave him a safe place and stability to finish growing up in. Reed made the choice to become a part of the club and he enjoys it. He is a sub and he has a massive crush/love for Curtis but Curtis won't go there because of Noah. But Noah is out of the picture as he is in jail serving a sentence that he took in order to protect another teenager that he had taken in. This is a fight club and kink club and it is very well done and the two woven together really well. Reed is pushing boundaries and things finally take off for Curtis and Reed and they become more and both are happy with it. They are committing to each other and settling in. That is, until Curtis's past catches up to him and instead of explaining, he runs and does a disappearance. It devastates Reed and it causes him to spiral and make unhealthy choices. When things happen and Curtis ends up coming back, he has a road ahead of him in order to get Reed back under control (no more unhealthy choices) and to earn his trust back for them to move forward into a relationship. I enjoyed seeing them open up and work through issues they had going on. They both have things they need to get through in order for them to be together in a healthy way and I loved seeing them find that. This book is heavy on the kink and a little on the darker, edgier side of things. Everything is consensual between our main characters and while they push boundaries that is a hard one they won't cross. The characters were really engaging and had me connected from beginning to end. I loved seeing them find their truth and happiness and what worked for them, even if it isn't the norm. They have created a safe place for people and they make sure the rules are followed with an iron fist. I am really excited for the next book in the series and to get to know and see Noah and how him being back affects our characters from the first two books.

Hmm This is not the first, second or even twentieth time I've read this series. Clearly I was using Goodreads to track when I had previously read it. This series is one of my "go to" series when I need a good read.
