Good material and suggestions, though the maps seems a little bit sketchy. By the author's own admission, they don't go into a lot of detail and it would be important to have more detailed information before going out into the wilderness. I would be curious how some of these trails have been affected by fires over the years and if they are still as beautiful and accessible as they were when it was written 10 years ago.
Maps are more of an interpretation of the trail route than a map. Given how many user created trails there are on this forest, you really need a a map with all the spurs, otherwise you get confused quickly. Suggest that you bring a compass and a good topo even if you plan to stay on trail. Otherwise, great book.
